What was the December 2002 number for the GameCube?
It's down year over year and obviously it's no where near the DS, but yes, it's not 1 foot in the grave or anything.

There is no good news if its "we are edging out the Dreamcast, but selling 100k less than Gamecube! Hurrah!". Theres just "it wasnt a totally trend breaking apocalypse" news.
But couldnt 7 of them be PS4 since only 3 of them are exclusive to XB1? Or is MS saying they sold the most of 6 of them?

Yep makes any comments that Nintendo can just pull what Sony did with the PS3 seem a bit hollow

I didn't say Sony or Nintendo were evil (and don't think they are at all). It's just a metric for which MS can be shown as not evil and the other two cannot, in response to your "evil winning" nonsense. They've been in that category for several years btw.
As far as ineptitude...what should we judge that based on? I guess since a corporation's intent is to make money, how about revenue and profit? Have fun with that comparison too.
How is my comment hate. I honestly find it hard to believe that its sold around 600k outside US/CAN/UK/Germany.
They're not horrendous. Dunno about good. Doesn't matter either way, it will have a normal console cycle.

Sony will take the lead worldwide, but it's bad press for the US as MS is focusing on this market and the "we are #1" bit will be pushed, making Sony look bad in America. It's clear which system is selling better, but MS knows it needs to focus on it's major territories. Though it seems they have lost the UK possibly this time around.

I feel like we just went through this in the Japanese sales threads over the last few weeks. A few people calling it a recovery and not listening or ignoring the fact that it was just a holiday induced sugar rush.

200k is probably the absolute ceiling for Canada. But I don't see any reason to doubt the 3 million claim. Sounds perfectly reasonable.

Same here. With 2014 MK8 and Smash plus I maybe another price drop, things can certainly get better.
I know you're fire and forgetting - and im about to jump in my car but... the supply constraint thing is a big deal. Folks aren't sitting on their hands waiting for the PS4 to suddenly start populating (though here in Denver I have seen them in the wild from time to time). These are lost opportunities for Sony - for everyone getting the Xbox One playing BF4 or whatever is a social circle being influenced - which means those waiting may just give in - especially if they already were Xbox owners.
I think the PS4 will do much better in the US than the PS3 but momentum matters and having inventory matters. If they remain constrained, and im not sure they are as constrained as all that anymore, and MS wins January as well as a result... then bounces with a Titanfall release (it's possible) then there's a strong argument to be hand that Xbox could control the US market by percentages in 2014 - a MUST WIN market for anyone in business.
But again, Sony looks like they'll be doing just fine in the US and worldwide they have a significant lead. China will be the wild card this generation potentially.

It had Pokemon and a cheaper SKU, in addition to some other games making this a significantly stronger situation (theoretically) than last year.
There should have been a notable YoY increase for the 3DS but there wasn't. That isn't good.

Ahh OK. It looked like MS was saying of the top 10 games, 6 were available on Xbox One.
Okay! Thanks for the precision. I knew that NPD would be coming today and would cover US games and hardware sales. What I didn't know it's that they were also covering AU and NZ, separatly.

Wii U is going to end up being a distant third in terms of sales by the end of it's life span. I hope for Nintendo's sake, it's handheld business doesn't slow down.
