It´s funny to see people getting excited over 1080p/60fps.

Willy waving PC user?

This game is making me seriously think about getting a PS4 next month so I don't miss out on this.

I was going to hold out until Driveclub....

Because it's so 2001 or something like that and let's not forget, that 120fps is the new 60fps ;)

I'm ready to get scared, but I think I'll need a new screen by then, my old one has poor black levels ;(

Wow, what computer did you have in 2001 that output 1080p/60fps? lol

Its exciting that a console is able to consistently put that out in games.

Can you build a $400 PC that will play games at 1080p/60fps? If so please link me to it, Id love to buy one.

I for one am really loving this 1080p 60fps trend on PS4.
Thankful change of pace from the stuttery 30fps that was the standard for most lastgen console games.
Outlast is an amazing freebie for PS+, as was Don't Starve.
I'm feeling the love. :)

I'm starting to think that Shahid's 1080p/60fps tweet wasn't just talking about indies. I know Outlast is indie but it's actually got a modern 3D engine behind it. I really can't wait to see what this system can do in the next few years. It's already outputting more than I expected given the specs and it's still early.

I think it'd be a primarily indie thing. It's not that PS4 isn't obviously capable of 1080p/60fps as a goal (and this gen games can look amazing even targeting that), but it's just devs just find ways to get more and more ambitious with extra power, and the target always ends up being 30fps in the end.

I hope Insomniac at least returns to a 60fps standard. I tie their decline in quality with their distancing from that (not really, but I do think there is a strong correlation between devs that understand the importance of and target 60fps and overall game quality, versus those that do not)!

Renting, buying a digital license, whatever, it's not like you own anything either way.

As far as I know, PS+ games are only available to you for as long as you have PS+. If you no longer have it, you can't download it. That's quite different from having a game for the forseeable future.

someone needs to confirm the 3D...i'd be all over that. not used my 3D TV for gaming for a good while now. and outlast seems perfect for it.

Don't ask me, my post was meant to be sarcastic.

True, but the games are also still there for you if you resubscribe in the future. Not a huge deal to me when I'm paying a measly $50 and getting a shit ton of games.

Besides, would this be a game I would want to revisit over and over in the distant future? Probably not.

It runs at 1080p/60 on my $600 laptop as well. What a marvelous feat Ty based Cerny.

And now it will run at 1080p/60 on my $400 PS4.

We all know what PS+ is and we all know what getting something from PS+ means, so to be pedantic and say "it's a rental" is just silly.

Awesome. The game isn't really demanding so that was expected, but it still looks great and having more 60fps console games is always a good thing! I hope we'll get tons of those this gen. :}

Seriously. I paid for XBL for 10 years, and got pretty much squat as far as free games.
Being a new PS+ member, this shit ton of fee playable games is amazing.

Boy, this conversation sure has a lot to do with the videogame in the thread title, and not people's egos about the relative value and utility of different hardware. (I'm really happy to see this trend of pretty standard 1080p/60fps for PS4 titles. That's a sign of hardware that's been planned out well, and developers being comfortable with the tools.)

No. Can you buy a $400 console that properly runs Photoshop, Office and Neogaf?
These price comparisons are pointless because PCs have a wider range of use.

But is it a locked 60fps??? I'd rather have 24fps per second than....ahhh I can't do it
You almost had it...
The game isn't that hearty compared to KZ, etc... more like a high end last gen game... I wonder if THEIF has a confirmed frame rate?

Games free for PS+.. Will check it out

Good shit... too bad I'll down this and NEVER play it cuz I'm too afraid :(

Well I am paying $400 for a gaming system, that happens to come with other nice features. If i want to shop photos or document words, or gaf some neo, I can use a cheap laptop.

But if we are talking about playing games, which we are, then my point stands.

Anyone know if the in game camera framerate is choppy? Cuz if that view runs smoothly it won't be realistic to any camera I've seen :p

As a PC gamer, you guys may regret hoping for 3D in this game. Just saying.

Edit:Camera frame rate isn't choppy BTW, but it has chromatic aberration and grain

Why don't you read the thread title, and then question why PC is being brought into the discussion in the first place?

Anyways I have to read up on what this game is about.
