The intent of the Border Tribe was to look and live like peasants to outsiders, when they are actually Wakanda's standing army. The shields are for guns, which the film downplayed.

So is the Wakanda military melee combat focused in the comics? Use techno shields until they can strike with hand weapons and spears?
Saw this last night and although I really do understand the cultural importance of finally having a big blockbuster film that celebrates and represents African culture, I unfortunately found it to be another mediocre Marvel movie.
Cast were all mostly great, the costumes and sets were beautiful, the score was good and everything else was serviceable but from a personal perspective I'm just really tired of these Marvel movies now. I wish we had a film like this that wasn't tied to Disney/Marvel but I guess Marvel sells and the masses love it.
Quick question. Yesterday watched civil war for the first time and. Ian asking myself how much is he similar to the more asshole personality I thought about him in civil war. Does his personality change a lot?
Yeah it was a bit different at the end of the movie but as said most of the time he was a real dick IMO.T'Challa / BP ? Well his behaviour does change (towards the end of the movie). Hard to tell about his personality itself, since he doesn't get much to say in general.
“So what’s gonna win next year?” Nolan asked me half-jokingly. He predicted Black Panther will be among the Best Picture nominees in 2019, which would make it the first comic-book movie to break that ceiling with the Academy.

I definitely didn't dislike the movie enough to not give it another chance. I did enjoy aspects of the film and can't really think of anything particularly bad to say about it other than that it was another predictable but competently made Marvel movie.
I will probably watch it again at some point when it's available for home viewing but I think I just have a bit of Marvel fatigue at the moment. I'm hoping Infinity War gives me some big shocks and isn't as safe in the storytelling department as Black Panther was.
Just went and saw the movie, like straight up it's the 2nd best marvel movie ( the first iron Man being the best). The general was the best character in the movie she stole the show. Also indeed kilmonger or however you spell his name is the best mcu vilan.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who thinks so highly of the first Iron Man movie.
A friend of mine still hasn't seen the movie. They're making plans to see it next week. That would be the third time for me and the 4th time for another set of mutual friends.
Iron Man is the best Marvel movie, imo.
Although for me I can never pay to watch the same movie twice I can understand why the movie is just that good, also yeah I hold the first iron Man on high regard it started something major.I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who thinks so highly of the first Iron Man movie.

Most movies that have so much hype behind it usually tend to not live up to it, I am glad this movie is not one of them. Also kilmonger theme is straight fire.I really enjoyed it when I went to see it. I don't expect it'll turn out to be the major culture milestone it's been built up as, though some distance will be needed before anyone can make any real determination on that.
Killmonger is definitely the best villain they've had in any of these films (however charismatic Loki might be) there's a perspective he's arguing for that runs a little deeper than "I want to rule everything just because". The film rejects his position (lost on some people), but it lets you see how he got there and how it could make sense to him.
There will never be a better Tony Stark.
Well, if I were to be honest my dad carried me, when I was younger, to go and see the matrix reloaded twice. (It's not as bad as people say). I totally understand why someone would want to go and see it again, it really is a good movie, I just think it would be a waste of money.Wunray I've never paid to see a move more than once before BP.
That's where I am too, I can't fathom paying to see a movie twice much less 4 timesWell, if I were to be honest my dad carried me, when I was younger, to go and see the matrix reloaded twice.
