Say what you want about 343i and MS, but I still have a really hard time believing that they knew it was this broken when launching the game.
Yeah guys, 343i is totally responsible for this mess. I'm sure they lied to Microsoft and assure them the game was working properly and MS released the game. Totally 343i's fault.

wat. Pls leave Halo alone. Why do you want to for Halo to play like every other shooter though? The time to kill is what gives it some uniqueness.
I personally love the way the game played. The time to kill lets players have much more interesting fights instead of aim, click, dead. It also makes it so you have a chance if someone shoots you first. Playing Halo 1-3 also made me appreciate how better the game feels without sprint.
SWAT is fun (stinkles will back you up on that) but its a niche gametype, albeit a popular one. Halo needs to remain true to what it is.
yes, it is thier fault, just like its Evoloution studios fault for drive club
We have no idea what went on between developer and publisher.
However I would think there would be more pressure on a studio handling Halo than a studio handling another racer.
But the beauty of SWAT is that despite the quick TKK, you still need skill. It still has to be a headshot. I'm constantly getting kills on folk who missed that first headshot on me. SWAT doesn't feel like anythign else out there.
That's what I love about it. It takes the fast pace quick TTK of CoD/Titanfall, but still keeps the feel, movement, skill requirement of Halo. It's just awesome. I'm actually really glad Halo 5 appears to be shortening the TKK.

SWAT has an appeal but why would you want to get rid of the base game? That's the game most people who like Halo want to play.
But SWAT is super popular and should be a permanant playlist I think. (I can dig swat once in a while but it gets boring for me, I think the combat with shields is the most interesting in the *console* fps genre.
Halo 5 time to kill actually seems pretty in line with the rest of the series, they just have that new breakout mode where you start with less health. What Halo 5 is doing well is reducing the auto aim so its much more difficult to pull off those perfect 4 shots. You're gonna be missing shots a lot more so the person with the best aim will win the encounter.
Well, the base game has seen a decline as far back as Halo 3. I don't think the base game appeals to many people anymore.
I think SWAT would be even more popular with a rename and a move up the ladder. It's always near the bottom of the list despite being a slayer type. In regards to Halo 5, the footgae I've seen thus far shown people dying pretty quick Either that, or I've been playing with horrible lag for the last 10 years and have only ever seen abnormally long TTK? (not joking, that could be a distinct possibility).
I've played H2A matches twice this week and the BR performed in very different ways both games, but the game didn't feel like it was lagging in any way. But when I played customs with fellow Australians, the game behaved how I expected to behave.
So maybe lag is the cause of my frustration?
SWAT is never the most popular playlist though? It's always the base slayer one and BTB.
I removed this game from my "5 game minimum" list for the XBO a while ago. I was just wondering if I should put it back. Guess not.
Can I get a refund easily if I bought digitally? Pretty ridiculous at this point

Single Player campaign issues:
- Halo 2 save
- Achievements not unlocking
- Game crashes
- Split Screen frame rate drops
Use the force.confused about the jedis now. i thought they said that there are normally jedis but when thats not available it falls back to p2p
I think this was originally just going to be Halo 2 Anniversary. However, Microsoft decided they needed all the other games in there and didn't give 343 the required development time that it needed.
343 did everything regarding Halo 2 Anniversary, right? At least the campaign I think. If the other games were suddenly sprung on them it makes sense that everything would be outsourced.343 barely had a hand in the collection anyways. It was 99% outsourced but should have been delayed anyways.

So what DID 343 do for the MCC?Nope. Sabre. 343 did effectively zilch.

I stand by that. The old way isn't fun. That's not an overreaction. As someone who has played Halo since 2001, but also played it's compeititors in between, after going back, it's highlighted how archaic the long TTK is in this day and age. I'll admit I was pissed off when I made that post, but my opinion even now in the cold light of day hasn't changed.
It's obviously better when there's no lag, but even then it's not as enjoyable as I remember it being back in 2004.
SWAT is still the best form of Halo there is (for me).
I just want you to know that opinions like these feed the mentality at 343 that "classic Halo is obsolete" and that it needs to "evolve" and react to the more popular shooters out there. You are reinforcing that mindset and contributing to the death of what once was a great and unique franchise.
Can't really do that as 343 are too scared to put in a population counter.Wonder if FyreWulff gonna bring that heat again. Not even gonna have wait a whole year this time. Dang.
Context: His amazing "Halo 4, One Year Later: What Happened?" Thread. One of the GOAT threads to me.
You apparently have no understandment of game development if you think you can just change a resolution and ship it.There's something big going on this generation.. These up-ported games apparently are not as easy as "set to a higher resolution and forget it".. So what is it? These games are mostly all broken in more ways than the original PS360 releases...... what the fuck were Sony and M$ thinking when they put out these consoles? This is the most half-assed console generation I've ever heard of. Seems like Nintendo will make everybody look dumb these days. Go figure.
His point is that a lot of the best titles on both consoles are retreads of hits from last gen.You apparently have no understandment of game development if you think you can just change a resolution and ship it.
