1UP SHOW - Street Fighter IV am here?

Ohhhhhhhururuhgh, the animation blending looks really, uhmm, nonexistent. Then again, maybe that's what makes it Street Fighter?

some of guys are retarded, judging a game that is 2% done. cripes..
your avvy rocks the facial animation in that clip is superb. Ryu's lips pucker as he inhales for the charge then opens up when he releases his hadouken... pretty fantastic stuff. I know there is a lot of hate flowing around about the facial animations but its one of the things that will have that characteristic emotional draw that other fighters wont have. The exaggerated face animations are going to look fantastic on an SDTV and even greater on an HDTV.

i don't know what's more ironic..

I'm just judging what has been shown, but it looks like shit thus far. I absolute abhor the art style and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get passed it. At least the moves seem like they have weight to them.

I'm going to go ahead and say that I think Street Fighter HD is going to destroy this.

If you put it out there, people will judge it. You can't be that naive can you?

Well considering it's 2% done and still in alpha, it can only get better. Fucking graphics whores.

Art style aside, what's with the floaty animation? It looks so slow an unnatural. I'm really afraid how this one is going to turn out.

and yes, looks like EX4 to me.

I'm going to pretend I didn't see this and hope for the best. It is still very early yes, but the foundation they're building on sounds a bit... not very SFish.

I mean what fun is it if a 'button masher' has a chance against a skilled player? It seems they are not quite going this far with the balancing act but even if not, people will play defensive so as to charge your revenge bar as little as possible.

It's difficult to really change a person's ingrained strategy but who knows, maybe they'll figure it out. But visually I am not pleased at all.

I think people are taking this 2% done thing a bit too literal now. Point remains though. If they didn't want people talking about it, good or bad, they should have kept it under wraps. I personally think they should have kept their mouths shut until the game is 90% or ready for play testing personally.

I honestly don't see the point in releasing info and shots on the game this early, hyping up the "throwback to SF2" angle in front of their release os Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix. Lesser fans could just say "Well, this SF2 is cheaper than this SF4 thing. I'll just get this one" or "Why bother with this HD Remix thing when this SF4 thing is coming out?"

Do they want to overload people on SF2 (or the thoughts of it) yet again?

Oh god, I thought the stills looked medium, but the videos......ughhhhhh

If it looks like this when it ships I might blow my dick off with a shotgun. I REALLY REALLY want to play it, but the visuals are like nails on a chalkboard. I can see how some people would like it, but for me personally it's one of the worst looking "styles" I've ever seen.

The hobbit feet, the non-familiar faces, the oversaturatedness.

Please look better by release :(

For a game that is only 2% complete, it looks absolutely amazing. Models do need a bit of work, but by release they will probably look significantly different. Honestly, I am just really happy were getting another street fighter after so long.

Remember the reaction about DMC4 a year ago? Exactly, people said it looked bad and shitty as well. Alot of people have changed their opinions. I have fait in Capcom. Believe.

I really liked what i saw, it looks to stay true to the 2d gameplay like they said and the impact of the moves look great. I didn't expect to be impressed with this early video but i am.

Because it did look bad and shitty. They did their job and cleaned it up. This looks bad and shitty, hopefully Ono and crew do the same.

i actually thought it looked good before and honestly havent noticed a big change from the early vids.

I think the only part people were haiting on around that time was the fight with the ice demons. To be fair, both the models for those enemies and the environment did look awful. Thankfully the graphics on level 3 have been tightened up.

as far as sf4, i really cant form an opinion

while it looks fast and fluid it just doesnt seem like sf to me

maybe when the add the stencil effects from the teaser in it might fit better

just curious, in the last retronauts [about street fighter] milkman kept talking about some game that i cant make out, something about wolves...anyone know what he is talking about?

So are the people that are calling it beautiful bugging you too? Since they've only seen 2% of the game too? It looks underwhelming right now to me, and I'm probably one of the least graphic-whory people here.

They really did go back to SF2 for inspiration. Unfortunately, in more ways than one; animation isn't consistant, some moves seem so... framey like they're missing inbetween frames. Also leads to less impact on the regular moves.

I'm already missing the squash and stretch :( I mean, the facial reactions seem to be the only things that have any semblance of this (which I like... screw being pretty) while the moves are stiff like any other 3D fighter.

I think the biggest problem is the style. What's his name on the video had it right: the style looks more westernized. Worst, it's the more generic looking. They could do so much better with the style; I hope they do refine and change it because, as of now, they look like jumbo toys (with the bulky voluminous clothing and all).

That said, I see a lot of room for them to improve and since they have plenty of time (?) the final result would be at least a nice addition to the 3D fighting genre.

Looks like it could come to Wii too. Maybe that was capcoms plan? Release to all motherfucking platforms :lol

This game looks strange, and I hope they dial back the OMG DRAMATIC MOMENT schtick. I like what they're saying about the gameplay, though - a fast, offense-first feel sounds great.

the animation dont look too far from SF3 and the game doesn't look floaty at all. but i do agree that some of the facial expressions look wierd... cool that their faces show the cringes and their bodies react to the impact of the blows dealt... but honestly they look like cavemen at times from those punches.

overall i was impressed though... the game seems like it will deliver and this is just a 2 percent done!

if they can get the saving / revenge system balanced, create an ideal character roster for the game, and create an online environment in the leagues of dead or alive (and not virtua fighter 5)... then i will be happy to play SFIV for another decade waiting for SFV

...

since they went back in time for SFIV... how the hell will they explain SFV?

The more I watch, the more I like it. They could use some improvements. I think the character models are a bit too stocky, the legs and arms need to be longer or thinner. Ken needs to look a lot cheekier too. I wouldn't mind if they adapted the look to be slightly more Anime than it is now. It's not like American audiences are against that style. So long as it's not moe. Overall I love the direction, you people really are too close-minded. Even when the video shows they are delivering the SF experience, you still find something to complain about

I'm woundering how capcom will capture the old school feeling of playing SF4 with this new graphical art style. The reason why I like sf over most fighting games out there (I'm a casual fighting game fan) is that there wasn't much thinking when playing the game. It isn't a button masher, but unlike soul calibur, I didn't have to work about 8 way movement or blocking / countering aspect.

I'd wait till 2009 for this game to be complete. Please don't f this up capcom.

from the sound of it, it's more like basic street fighter with gauges.

looks nice though. I just wish they played the video from round start to end without cuts
