RTS games are not really my cup of tea. I enjoyed Generals before it ramped up and it just kind of lost me at that point. Having said that I thought the interview segment was perfectly fine. I didn't even notice how long it was till everyone here started bitching about it.

I was surprised that they even got into the controls on the 360, as I figured they would be handled with kid gloves. Of course the couldn't slam them on it since the game isn't done, but they did bring it up. At least the two guys were interesting to listen to, and seemed to get the flow of the show.

As for people knocking Garnett, :: shrugs ::, I dunno. It just his style. Its part of the reason I listen to the show is waiting for that joke that just falls flat. It's like waiting for Shane's amazing Sony spin to come in. It's part of the reason I listen to the show ya know?

Hmmm, I still can’t download the podcast (or any files from 1up for that matter). I tried going to the boards to see if any of their users were complaining of something similar, but that won’t load either. Finally in desperation I tried an online proxy, and weirdly enough that works.

I just wanted to pass on some info that should be invaluable for some Australian Gaffers.

I’ve found out why I couldn’t download the 1up podcast.

Optusnet users (primarily in Brisbane) with an IP in the 210.49.2xx.xx range are having trouble accessing various sites. Which includes the 1up server http://zdmedia.vo.llnwd.net and http://boards.1up.com/.

In addition to this, other sites are effected such as http://www.guildwars.com/, www.youtube.com, www.imageshack.us, http://www.digg.com/, http://support.steampowered.com/, http://www.cityofheroes.com/ and http://www.myspace.com/.

If anyone here is having problems accessing those sites, add this proxy to your web browser settings - cache1.optusnet.com.au port 80.

You should now able to download the podcast and access those other sites.

Ideally you should send tracert logs of sites that you can’t access to cablesupport@optusnet.com.au. So they can resolve the issue.

Just to put this in perspective for international readers, Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city/capital. And Optus is the country’s second largest Telco. Do the math. :)

Funny how this seemed to effect a lot of game related sites more than anything. I can only imagine what would have happened if WoW was unreachable. :p

not sure if this was talked about, but didn't the new EGM say there will be a new castlevania announced in the March issue of EGM. Shane said something about a new PsP game being shown on the 1up show..Anyone think it'll be Castlevania PsP?

There is almost no reason for vania to leave DS. Most likely the news stories are unrelated.

I'm of the opinion that if the Castlevania game was for PSP, EGM would've included them in their most recent Q column this past month, in addition to Capcom and Square Enix...

I can't believe I am the only one who is posting this but who here thinks Tekken DR for the PSN will have online functionality? What else can they include will make the US version of Tekken DR (PSN) "worth the wait"? That little nugget at the end got me thinking...

CGI rerendered to high-def, minigames, enhanced practice/training, etc.

The C&C interview was awful. I love RTS games, but there was absolutely nothing there. It was 30-40 minutes of nothing. No new information, no insight into anything, no reason to make you want the game to come out. What purpose did this interview serve other than to fill up time?
