I'm interested on the drumpad, but none of the sellers in Amazon.co.uk will ship to Spain :(
order it from mymermory.co.uk as some mentioned. they seem to ship worldwide for free.

I guess I missed that, thanks I will try.
Edit: Ok, placed my order, this will be cool!

I bought one the other day too, from mymemory.co.uk. 8 quid including delivery to Australia, ridicuously cheap! :D I'm wondering what uses I'll find for the superfluous drum pieces, or if I'll be able to do some kind of shoulder button mod.

The package arrived. It's funny, because I bought this just for the pad (which is awesome by the way) but I am enjoying the actual drum kit quite a bit too.

I came into this thread expecting to see a wristwatch that had a dpad on it. Disappointment followed.

Better hope you never need to set the time and stuff on it then. It would be an exercise in frustration to set it if you had to use the 360 dpad to do so.

They have them for $16.32 and FSSS / Prime 2 day on the American Amazon site. I'm thinking about it, but I'd really rather get one with shoulder buttons.

For anyone interested, MyMemory.co.uk has 20% discount on everything with the code Fifa20.

Brings downt he price of the Drum kit to £6.36.

i picked one of these up from ebay the other week for cheapo. these are cheap all over now. saw them for 8$ on the Rock Band store. got mine for under 15 shipped on ebay.

i tried it out a few times and it seems pretty nice. better than the normal d-pad obviously.

the 2 glaring faults though, are the convex shape of the d-pad (the hell?) and the lack of shoulder buttons. so this controller will probably be of limited use.

Meh, I have it but I think it's pretty shitty.
You can't really play awesome games of Pac-Man with it like I tought I would, the convex edges really crap all over the place.

Edit:

Ah dpad, nevermind. I was worried about that as well but it became a total non issue when using it. Its one of the best dpads I've ever used, just give it a whirl in Mega Man or Pac Man: CE and your love for the thing will sharp rise.

Any verdict on the Slim's controllers' D-pads? I watched a breakdown on Tested that showed some minor differences but haven't read any user impressions.

Does anyone have any updated impressions on the Hori Fight Pad Ex 2 for 360?

I'm looking to buy one but I keep seeing reviews saying that about after 3 weeks to a month the wire stops working properly and the controller starts to have crazy ghosting issue at times.

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

I'm actually beginning to think that some are more different than others. My slim pad for instance really doesn't work any better than the old pad I had for my elite but it does drift to the left a bit which drives me crazy.

But other people have said they've noticed a slight difference, either in stiffness or responsiveness.

Will probably pick it up; is the controller HID-compliant so I can use it on a PC?
No idea what HID compliant means, but it works fine on the PC. Vista picked it up straight away and it behaves like any standard wired 360 controller does.

Just got the Rock Band dongle.

and yes. it's the best Virtua Fighter controller on 360. :lol

er no. that would be a quality arcade stick. id even pick a hori ex cheapo over this thing.

it is decent though.

Good impressions, be darned.
I just ordered the "Portable Drum Kit" along with 1600 MS Points. $26 shipped.

Consdering my luck, it will probably arrive broken in half or something; but I'll see. :D

How good is the SF4 pads? I'm leery because it's Mad Catz and the controllers/shit I've had from them shat out within weeks. I heard the SF4 pads are okay, but the D-pad breaks after heavy use? :/ Is that true?

Sorry for not being part of the drum kit hype train, but not enough buttons for modern 2D/fighting games for me.

They were $9.90 here in the US Amazon, picked up one last week. Great controller! Only problem is the controller is pretty limited with only 4 face buttons

Yeah, pity there's no shoulder buttons - but it'll be great for arcade emulation on my PC, as well as console emulators.

Disconnecting the drums is just a matter of disconnecting each cable...right?
I don't want to find out that I need some soldering skills too. :lol

Yeah, you just plug/unplug. I'm thinking of actually trying it out as a drum controller to see how it fares out. I didn't really intend to use it for RB when I bought it though :lol

I didnt even think about using the controller for emulation. That'd be awesome too.

Yeah, I couldn't be bothered to set up my gamecube and gameboy player last night, so I played Wario Land 4 on VBA-M on my PC. Only controller I had to use though was my wireless 360 Controller. And it sucked.

Oh and if this is standard USB, surely this controller will work on the PS3 too?

Its an Xinput rather than HID device, so no, it won't work on the PS3.

Ah, right. Makes sense, never tried a 360 controller when I had a PS3.

I remember attempting to play MGS4 with a gamecube controller through my adapter though. :lol

I bought the RB portable drum kit. Drum pads are decent and responsive, the foot pedal sucks, hard to use comfortably. Using the gamepad itself is a dream, very responsive. For $10 too good to pass up.

Oh shit, just realised I have a SNES to USB adapter I could have used. :lol Ah well, now I have two controllers.

ordered the rockband thing on wednesday, trusting the hype and saying 'why the hell not' to $10.

Played the trial of Gunstar Heroes with it. It's good, as people have said.

Only nitpick is that the cable can make the thing kind of top heavy depending how you hold it, so unless you make little adjustments it can be uncomfortable to try and grip it.

brain_stew said:
Which makes it even worse.

Depends on your purposes. Most games these days use the d-pad as buttons and the controller seems designed to maximize that quality. It's not pretending to be for Street Fighter, or Mega Man, or games where the primary input is the d-pad. It's for things like Modern Warfare 2 where a direction calls in a kill streak.

Sorry for the bump, I just have a question about the RB drumkit controller.

I currently have a Hong Kong made BlazePro ps2 to 360 Converter that works great but requires a (semi)official wired controller to work.

I a bought a cheap ($20) wired controller from ebay a few months ago and got what I paid for as it stopped working about 2 weeks after purchasing it.

Does anyone know if the RB drum kit controller would be detected as a microsoft wired controller by my converter?

I would like to get one of these for stand by rather than buy a brand new controller, as well as use it as a go to pad for classic games that don't require shoulder buttons/triggers.

Thanks.

I have it and the d-pad is a piece of shit. It doesn't always register the diagonals correctly and mostly made only for SFIV since it's very forgiving. At least with the new Xbox controller you can use it with all your games, not just fighting games.

It should be, my PC detects it as a standard wired controller and the 360 itself treats it just like one.

I need a controller to use for both fighting games and shoot 'em ups. What would you recommend? I want a controller that I can use for 3D games too.

Is Ikaruga doable with the original controller btw?
