Wow, this was exactly what I've been waiting for. I'm not a fan of the size of the XL (I have both the original and regular LL) and I've been waiting for an NA regular New 3DS that doesn't have Animal Crossing in it.
I've tried in-store demo units before and the 3D function has improved significantly over the original.

It'll likely come with version 11+. So you'll have to either hardmod or have another 3DS that's already hacked up. Keep that in mind. In the off chance it comes with 11.0 or 11.1, don't update. There's supposedly a forthcoming option for a standalone downgrade.

Oh god, this is way too tempting. Nintendo's content transfer shit even seems doable for this value.
Does anyone know where and how I could get the most value from trading in/selling my 3DS XL?
Amazon seems to be the best at $76.51 worth of amazon credit
Gamestop goes up to $75 credit and $50 cash but ugh, suppporting gamestop and less value compared to amazon.
And lol at Best Buy with $50 credit as their best offer.
I wonder what I could get from GAF's BST thread who I'm sure would value a perfect condition box with what they're getting but what sane gaffer would bite when this is only $99?!
Maybe there's another site or promo for extra trade in value that I'm overlooking and god it sucks that I have to own both the replacement and the old one at the same time to transfer shit because I know the value is gonna tank come black friday. Ugh, these decisions are agonizing.

Hmm, I could go for this. My 3DS is a hand-me-down from one of my kids after getting them a newer one, and it's covered in scratches and the left bumper no longer works.

I like the faceplates on both of 'em, but will these come packed with plain, artless faceplates too?
I'd love to rock a solid black one, but I might still even consider just getting the black one and keeping the Mario art on it -- it doesn't look bad, I just prefer a cleaner, plain look to it.

They probably won't. My N3DS (Pokemon) didn't come with a plain faceplate, and I don't think the AC one did either.

I think so far a vast majority of the Regular N3DS are dual TN. Very few of these have IPS screens.

My Sun/Moon XL came with 11.0 so do expect that firmware or later, yeah.
I managed to do it with my old XL but it was such a pain man.

I tried to impulse buy a N3DS in the US this past weekend, but they were all sold out everywhere I went. Even Amazon was sold out of the Super Mario Land bundles.

Is the IPS/TN display gamble still a thing with the smaller n3ds?
Will these come with a solid face plate that matches the color of your console? I've been DYING for the black n3ds to make its way state side, but I'm not a fan of the mushroom kingdom faceplates they're advertising.

3DS = that little nub, possibly runs DQ7/DQ8 a little better? Higher Trade in Value.
I am ONLY buying this for DQ7 and DQ8 as I traded in my last 3DS right after Theatbrhthm FF and FE: Awakening. The only other games I may glance at is the FE: Conquest (son owns it) and Final Fantasy: Curtain Call ($20 at Gamestop)
Right after DQ8 is beat, I trade it in and be done with the 3DS for good.
Any thoughts and opinions folks?
