Talked to Walmart yesterday through chat about my order that was supposed to arrive today. Guy told me that it was out of stock, back ordered, and that I should have one within the next three weeks. I could either have him cancel the order or just continue waiting. I told him my piece and decided to leave the order just in case, though I expected very little. Woke up today to see my order is back in processing and that the items are back up for sale on the site again (albeit for a much higher price now). I chatted in with someone else just now, and they told me the item is back in stock, my order will ship out today, and I should receive my order within the next five days. I hope she is right. I feel better now than I did yesterday, though!

I'm from Mexico but I would guess it's easier for you find a New 3DS than us in AmericaThe price sounds a little high, but I only checked Amazon UK.
About the transfer method, I would follow the one which only transfers the licences (the DSi games are transfered completely, though), I did it and I didn't miss any game save it was in the SD card. It's painless and easier than do the PC method, but it's still so slow as the full transfer.
Thanks, it will be the SD card via the PC route I will take, just not sure if to do it early and use the microSD in my current 3DS for a couple of days to make sure all is well on the transfer first, I really don't want to screw the transfer up) any other advice is really welcome http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=226653595

Maaan even the New 3DS XL is inflated up to 300+ prices now, I guess I won't be gifting that this year :/ Should of ordered two days ago when it was at it's normal price, I didn't think there would be this much demand what the hell, is it like this for 3DS's every holiday season?
Eh..I don't think I've ever seen a major retailer upcharge an item for more than the MSRP. This indicates to me that Nintendo set the MSRP at 180$.
Which is silly because msrp for these is $149 now. Something is up. It could just be due to the exlcusive nature of the black and white ones..

Walmart is under no obligation to sell at msrp especially if this is web only. Hell they may have had to place an order with Nintendo on these and got hosed, who knows. $180 isn't the msrp on a smaller new 3ds though.
Ordered 2 of them online through walmart on black friday. They were paid for and shipped. We didnt hear anything for 2 weeks about them, so we checked the tracking and it said they had arrived at the store. Called the store and they said the systems werent there. This went on for a few more days, so we asked our friend, who is a manager at walmart, to check on it, and she told us the status had been updated to lost in shipping. I was so pissed, because we had also bought 5 games for the 3ds on black friday. I will never order from walmart again

I was using my physical games to compare both regular and XL new 3DSs.
It will load as the 1.0 version of the game on the system without NNID because the game patches are on the SD/microSD

You can still get a New 3DS XL for $170 in red or black from the Nintendo refurb store. Fast shipping from Washington State, arrived yesterday

The N64 still had an MSRP of $149 when the Gamecube launched at $199. If Nintendo sets the price higher than $250 then I think Nintendo is going to be the ones with the rude awakening. People don't want to pay a premium price for Nintendo hardware. People love Nintendo stuff when it is cheap.
A price drop saved the 3DS from bombing and it might have saved the WiiU too. The Switch is at hit at $250. At $300 it is a maybe. At $350 the Nintendo Switch will bomb. At $400 it is time for Nintendo to order some Scorpio devkits and get to work porting Mario Kart to the Xbox.

The small 'new' 3DS doesn't seem to be as available in the UK as it is in the USA and the small 'new' 3DS is more expensive than the 'new' 3DSXL
I am also terrified about moving to a new system, everyone here seems fine with it though :/

You're not alone there. Was thinking I got a dumpy unit, but nah, they all seem to just have very hard-to-press power buttons.
At least there won't be any accidental turn offs...

Yes it's very annoying, especially since I'm gifting two of these to my nephews. If my adult fingers have trouble with these buttons, the little boys have no chance.
My New XL doesn't have this issue.

Black one from amazon here and button isn't hard to press at all. Had it almost a month now and never had any issues. Hinge is tight. No light leaking on sides of screen. Power button is fine. No scratches from being closed.
