I sort of want to know this so I can plan to get a protector first before I even try it out.
Those screen scratches happened to my first 3DS, which got stolen. At least the thief had a messed-up screen :/

So earlier today I traded in my old XL to Gamestop and got a gift card. I am going to go Friday morning in hopes of using it to buy a new 3ds.
I also ordered one on gamestop.com in case the store sells out.
So I may have an extra one for anyone in the Los Angeles/SGV area, or if someone wants to pay shipping for one.

At this point I won't be surprised if Nintendo ships 2 Switches to every retail store in USA and proceed to claim that they didn't know demand would be as high as it was.

Um, it's officially Thanksgiving now & the people working at those warehouses are most likely going to take the day off to have their dinners & get-togethers with their friends & families.

Isn't the regular price of the small ones $150 anyway? Unless those were a limited time bundle as well, I think the price ceiling for these is pretty low.

N3ds XL majora's mask (black interior w/ top gold exterior)
i ordered a white using gamestop and a white backup at walmart in case one is backordered/cancelled.

The faceplates mean you can change the outer appearance, with just the borders showing. To me, black looks better with most of the faceplates I like (Xenoblade, Zelda,mets)

yeah the outside looks good but the multi colored buttons look tacky and cheap against the black mold. the colored buttons personally looks nicer against a white backdrop.

A 2DS should be fine for a 6 year old just getting into Pokemon, right? I also can't decide if I want to start her on Sun/Moon or have her play one of the older games first.

I am can't believe I was able to get into Best Buy's site and order two of the black 3ds. Figured most site would be crawling.

But if the New 3DS white matte plastic is anything like the DSL and Wiimote/Nunchuck plastic, it's going to yellow over time.
So black has tacky buttons, but white is going to turn an awful sweat and grime yellow over time.
And black looks good with any face plate while white looks better with the buttons and matching accessories.
2DS is the right choice, yes. As for how to start, perhaps getting one of the older Pokemon games first would be a good idea... then jump to Sun/Moon.
