$99 New 3DS Black Friday Deal

Is there serious demand for this thing or is this release week hype? It will be interesting to see where prices go if Nintendo doesn't announce another shipment.

I have wanted a black N3DS since they were announced for JPN and was lucky enough to get one yesterday. Now faced with the reality of importing if I want a decent faceplate, the money saved is quickly evaporating
 
Nintendo afraid of success... always undercutting stock and keeping prices high. Everybody still loves Nintendo games, but it seems nobody wants to pay high prices especially when there are free mobile games.

How good is Amazon about overseeing third party sales? New seller "just launched" with a new condition black 3ds listed at $102 and no shipping.

Obvious scalp situation but 102 is less than sales tax if bought in-store.

You guys think this thing will actually show up? Anyone have experience with item no-shows?

It is similar to my 3DS XL and DSi cases which I like a lot.
 
Aww yiss, my 3DS from Amazon is being delivered. Got the charger and two Pokemon games, so I'm ready to go!
I even snagged one for my cousin, though I'll never drive 3 hours for a damn console ever again.

Nah, a permanent price from $170 to $100?

Maybe they will drop it to $150 or even $130 when all is said and done, but not $100. I would be happy if you were right (and they also drop new 3DS XL to something reasonable like $140), but don't bet on it.

The Regular 3DS currently has a MSRP of $149.99 but thats with a game, I think.

Every time the N3DS has been in US it has been $150 with a game, no? So $100 isn't that much of a stretch at all.
 
Chicago-GAF: Just walked out of the south Chicago target (86th and Cottage Grove) with 2. They had about 10 whites and just opened a new case of blacks brought from the back.
 
Finally got an estimated delivery date on my Target order. Says it will be here Wednesday. Amazon Japan order will be here Tuesday. I can't believe Target is gonna let a place on the other side of the world outdo them like that! C'mon Target! Step your game up!

Yeah, they have been for a while. Most companies have a part of their company that after an announcement they gauge how the public responds and that dictates how much of a product to flood the market with. In the case that they don't want to under produce or over produce of any one product, you try and hit that sweet spot as best as you can. Well Nintendo doesn't have that and it's going to eventually come back and bite them in the ass in some way.

No Charger though. Sold out everywhere.

Not sure what games to buy. Leaning towards Zelda lbw and fire emblem. Also curious about kid ikarus. How's luigis mansion? Smt4?
 
They definitely should have dropped the price on the XL by now. Could you imagine how many people that missed out on this would have said fuck it and bought an XL for $30-$40 more. Also why the hell haven't they dropped the price of the XL, it's still the same price as when I got mine and I got mine summer of 2013.

Nice find!

Kid Icarus Uprising is in my top 5 games of all time. It's very polarizing though, so I hope you can find it cheap.

LBW and Awakening are great choices too.
 
What a waste of time today constantly checking Amazon. I doubt they will have any Saturday and I don't think I can keep on going. If there's none on Cyber Monday then I'll just wait for a similar price point next year.

Just got back from Target and they had about 15 black N3ds but no white. Is the price going to stay at $99 or will it go up? Thinking about getting a second just for a collector item.

Pretty sure Wii U essentially won't exist for Nintendo post-Switch. With manufacturing already discontinued, it's all just stock that retailers already possess. Perhaps retailers will do some heavy sales to clear stock, but I think Nintendo will have cut ties with the system by the time Switch launches, if they haven't already. Zelda BotW for Wii U is their one piece of unfinished business that I bet they can't wait to be done with.

Based on this Black Friday deal and the 3DS's already announced 2017 titles, it seems the 3DS is still alive for Nintendo.

Correct. I'd say you made a good choice. If you like Birthright, you can always check out Revelations (apparently medium difficulty) and Conquest (apparently the hardest of the three) at their discounted prices.
 
Okay guys,

Picked up a black friday 3ds for myself.. anyone have case recommendations?
I'd prefer something that's not too spacious (doesn't need to fit an XL), but has room for games and a charger.

Even if there's room for an XL, that's alright I guess, if the case really is the tits.
Can't seem to find the one online, that I used to have back when I had my XL.



Also, I need recommendations for my nephews, who will be receiving 2DSes this year.

I'm looking for the following in a 2DS case for them:

- Hard cover (these will probably be smashed and abused)
- fits the system, a couple games, and the included charger
- in the 8-15 dollar range
- different color availability would be nice, so they know whose is whose.

edit: Actually think it might be better if it was a small 'bag' with a handle or strap, that could fit everything.. What do you think?

I ended up picking up Pokemon Y, Bravely Second, Animal Crossing, Luigis Mansion and Final Fantasy Therarhythm. I can still get the $25 Fire Emblem on Amazon Prime now but I'm not sure, because I have a lot to play now, and I heard I should start with Awakening which is expensive.
 
Has anyone been notified of a backordered status with their order? If so, have your orders ever been cancelled? So worried that my 3DS will be cancelled since its status was updated to backordered.
