Amazon Cancelling Master Edition's of Zelda: BotW Orders

You can get cancelled orders returned? I wouldn't have thought you can do that, considering logistics in charging credit cards and whatnot.
 
I'm going to take a guess that this email is automated based on them adding the "one per customer" criteria to the item, because it wasn't there when the item was made available and it sold out so quickly that they never could communicate it clearly.

I got the same email about Amazon canceling orders with more than one Master Edition. But I only ordered one and I just checked my orders and its still there. I really hope it stays there and doesn't get cancelled.

Woke up to the email and almost had a heart attack when I saw the words "Zelda" and "Master Edition" and "cancelled".

So I'm good for now...

Why? Because Nintendo shorted Amazon on stock of a Limited Item? I've preordered stuff from Amazon for years and never had a problem. Always got my release day deliveries on release day as promised.

I didn't order either Special Edition Zelda from Amazon but I wouldn't stop preordering with them just because of one cancellation.
 
5:13 pacific for the canceled extra versions email but my order is still safe.

Seriously fucking Amazon what are you doing I have one pre-order.

Woke-up, saw this morning's one-per-customer email, freaked, and came here to see that others are also getting it. Phew. Order still intact.

The next 150 hours or so (between now and shipping notifications) are going to be a bit tense.

I remember that. I got my order restored. Don't care if this is false hope, but I'm clinging as hard as I can to this. :P

What if Amazon doesn't get stock of even the base game in for two weeks? Then you lose your discount. With BestBuy the discount is permanent.
 
Got the email as well about cancellation of extra copies even though I only bought one and it got cancelled. Rubbing salt in the wounds. Gives me hope this MIGHT be a mistake but definitely not counting on it.

Prices are always locked in on pre-orders. Once you go through the checkout process it's not changing (as far as going up in price). I pre-ordered a Harley Quinn Statue that ended up being back-ordered. I kept getting "cancel or wait" e-mails. I kept hitting wait because they had a price error on the pre-order. It took 3 months, but I got a $75 statue for $14 X-D.

Amazon is actually BETTER due to their price gaurantee. If a pre-ordered game (or item) accidentally drops to like $30....you always pay the lowest price it ever dropped to between pre-ordering and shipping.

I got 6 of the new Amiibo that came out after pre-ordering them for $0. LOL. That's SIX Amiibo with release day shipping for $0 shipped to me. It was literally like a 30 second glitch when they were listed, and they honored it.

Amazon getting shorted stock of one game by a company notorious for poor stock is not a great reason to stop preordering there.
 
I freaked out about it.

Wife reads the email over my shoulder during said freaking out.

Wife tells me it's not cancelled.

I check Amazon.

She is correct.

Wife is right.

The order is still there and it the green bar is moving as if it is getting processed. This is wacked.
 
Got the same email everyone's getting. Pooped a little and then started coming up with plans in my head on what to do. Order a regular copy from bestbuy? Call out sick from work next week and camp out somewhere? Then I checked and my order was still okay. I REALLY hope it stays that way.
 
Got a similar email when I purchased the $99 3DS during black Friday. They still shipped it so it's probably some mass email situation that only effects those who purchased multiple copies.

I think Amazon only got in to the 20% off preorder business in order to compete with Best Buy's GCU. I don't think it was sustainable for either company. BB is already backing off and offering less preorder bonus reward certificates and I don't think their plan of using video games as a loss leader to get people into the stores to buy other things is working.

Yeah got the same thing. After my cancellation. Order did not magically appear back in my account or anything.


Wonder if this means it was a glitch and then they put more orders up for sale last night while we slept?

I also got the additional quantities email... And I'm afraid they re-open pre orders or something, because I can't open shopping websites at wor. If anything happens any fellow Gafer Can save me please. I'll be forever grateful? :(
 
Am I crazy for wanting to preorder the standard game from bestbuy just in case? I want the master edition but not being able to play this day one would be awful after waiting so damn long. Anyone with experience with bestbuy know if canceling an order is easy? Like once my amazon stuff safely ships Thursday to be here by Friday will I be able to cancel my bestbuy order still?

Cancelling orders with BB is as easy as Amazon. No issues. But once it's being prepared for shipping, you can't cancel.

Same exact situation with me this morning. Additional orders ( of which there were none) cancelled, my only order is still showing as "Not yet shipped"

I was going to do in store pick up to avoid that. So could I cancel at any time since they would never be shipping to me? Also thanks!
 
Going to have my open orders page up all day at work it seems. This is crazy. :( Trying to figure out a back up plan in case the worse happens. I was going to cancel my Best Buy Switch system order yesterday since it was no longer needed but then this situation happen. Going to keep that now in case something even worse happens. I thought it would be smooth sailing to launch day.

I'm actually afraid to do anything else on my Amazon account right now for fear it will trigger something. I need to cancel 1 2 Switch because I just ordered it to be safe but don't actually want it at launch. Chances are I'm going to end up having it shipped now. Guess I can just return it but please get this sorted out Amazon.
 
Dam I woke up to the 1 order email. The order hasn't actually changed on the site yet though so maybe it's just some automated screw-up?
 
Okay, I just got the email about duplicate orders being cancelled despite only ordering one. I called customer service and escalated the call until I got a supervisor. This email was supposedly sent to EVERYONE that ordered the master edition of breath of the wild. They said unless something changes, a single order will not be cancelled just because you got this email.

Hopefully that is true. I will be extremely upset if the cancel me.

Oh, you could just not pick it up and it'll be canceled after about a week. I know a lot of guys do that if they changed their minds.
 
I also got the multiple items cancelled email even though I only ever had 1 copy of the Master Edition Preordered. My order is still cancelled :(

Alright, thank you very much! Gonna go secure one right now just incase. I would hate to lose my Master edition preorder but not getting the game at all on launch day would suck even worse.

Edit: and done! At least now I'm pretty sure I'll at least be able to play the game next week.
