The Droid is pretty small :lol

The Droid weighs the same as the EVO and is thicker and more angular, and only slightly less tall and wide, despite the big difference in screen sizes.

i don't have any trouble with the droid in my pocket and I don't think the other millions of droiders do either. But sure.

The Motorola Charm is kinda cool. Motos continuing with their unique form factors, I like it. I wonder if the Moto Split will ever see the light of day or if it was canned. Seemed hella awkward to type on.

I think the Droid is a near perfect form factor.
At least for me.

It's really a shame that supposed Droid2 looks to be lame as fuck.

So I called VZdub today and they told me that if I wanted to pre-order the X, I would have to do it online. If I wanted to order it over the phone and just have it charged to my bill, I would have to wait to the 15th to call. I usually charge it to my bill because then I can write it off as an expense.

I would like to pre-order the badass X now, but I believe the only way I can do that is through BB, right? VZW also told me today that the NE2 policy changed since I got my last phone and I now have only a 50 dollar credit instead of the 100 I had towards my Storm (BS!).

Anyways, other than the fact that I am 100 percent obsessed with this freakin phone now, especially the DLNA and mobile hotspot feature, has anyone heard anything negative? How do you think VZW knows when you are using the mobile hotspot feature? Do you think that there might be a workaround where paying the 20/month might not be necessary?

Here are some videos of the phone I have been watching (repetitively, I might add):

I am salivating over this freaking thing.

I was exactly the same way leading up to the Incredible's release. Absolutely nuts.

I spent 99% of my days at the androidforums.com. Go there if you want to go insane.
Yup that was me also.... but since it was coming out so close to me going to Europe and the phone wouldn't work over there I decided to wait til I got back.

But since the phone was backordered and still is lol I decided to wait for the X, the 15th can't come soon enough!

Where can I get the best price on a Samsung Galaxy S? I want the one with the front-facing camera, but I don't want to spend ~$700. I'm thinking $500 tops.

Failing that, I'll probably go with a Nexus One.

It looks to be the same as the Droid, cept faster and better keyboard.

What else did you want?

Jesus Tmo, couldn't even put a front facing camera in that? Plus its 200 dollars? Eh, guess its time to plop down on a used Nexus One on craigslist

Finally a new non-EVO Android phone for Sprint users

111711-epic.jpg

Called the Samsung Epic 4G, the device will be the only Galaxy S phone released on a carrier that has a physical QWERTY keyboard (so far). The specs for the Epic certainly live up to its name: 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, front-facing VGA cam, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, and, of course, WiMAX connectivity.

As for software, the Epic will launch with Android 2.1 beneath a Samsung skin with features like DLNA support and Social Hub. Finally, the device clocks in at just 14.2 mm thin. The Epic 4G will be available "in the coming months."

Slideout QWERTY and it's only like 1 mm thicker than the EVO? Nice!

First the Evo and now the Droid X. Sooo jealous. Hey, as an Euro guy I could buy the incredibly awesome HD2! Yay!

At this rate I´ll never get a new phone.

I hope Sprint keeps this up, definitely glad they're getting more into Android, makes me glad I chose them as a carrier.

From the looks of it. The pattern is touch only android then qwerty android phone and then another touch only.
So... Next android phone for sprint will be touch... *coughpleasedroidxlikephonecough*

After this qwerty samsung phone, I would like to see Moto make a DroidX like phone for sprint.
Droidx has a huge screen yet slimmer and from the reports I'm hearing 9hrs of talk time (tested). Good battery. I just don't like Verizon's plan

I haven't seen that anywhere. They do claim 9 days of standby time, but only 8 hours of talk time. Do you have a link to anything that says they got 9 hours of talk time out of it?

here's another batt test

I don't have quite enough data to share at this point. What I can say is that I received the phone with an 80% charge at 2PM. After heavy use, the Droid X still had 50% at 11PM. That's not bad at all, though I hadn't synced email. Today, I left the house at 5AM with a full charge. After 9 hours of email, Twitter, etc., it still has 70% charge.

sounds good

The battery life on my 0002 evo was subpar. My new Evo has fantastic battery life, I can get more than a day easily off of a full charge.

Get rid of tha POS Cliq real talk. I had it before getting the EVO phone was gahbage. Anything will be a upgrade over it.

Haha, for real.

I upgraded yesterday. The myTouch Slide is a pretty nifty phone, and it's about 1000x better than the Cliq. I can't even stand looking at that phone now.

I need a Droid app that will let me turn on and off Bluetooth from a shortcut on the homepage. I only use Bluetooth when I drive and I don't want it draining my battery the rest of the day, and it takes forever to dig down into Settings to turn it on and off. There are lots of "shortcut anything" apps, right? Is there one that will do this?

Yup.

There's also plenty of Bt widgets, just look up bluetooth toggle or bluetooth widget. Curvefish makes some cool ones.

Hey guys, I have a bit of a question about android phones. Do you think it is worth getting a HTC Desie right now? I recently ordered an upgrade to an iPhone4 but since the reception issues etc I faultered a bit and since it was out of stock, it still hasn't been dispatched, so I can cancel my order and go the Desire route.

Initially, Android appeals to me more and the only reason I went iPhone over Desire was that with a 24 month contract on both handsets, I thought the iPhone would be a better investment, since price depreciation doesn't really seem to factor and in a year if the thing stinks, I could likely sell it for top dolla and buy something else.

I'm not too up on phones, but really I just want something to check my emails. I just wondered if the Deisre was worth getting at the moment, since it has been on the market a while now and I wondered if there is a possibility that it is going to be overshadowed quite soon. I'm in the UK, so I don't think a lot of the jazzy phones you guys are talking about come out here.

Any input you guys migh thave would be much appreciated. Honestly I don't really know what the hell I'm tallking about, phones just seem like a much bigger investment these days. Nightmare.

I'd get the 4 over the Desire. That's just me. I'd get an Evo, Incredible, DroidX and Samsung Galaxy over the 4 though. PEACE.

Yeh, that's my predicament, I like the look of the EVO, but it's not coming to UK shores from what I've heard. I'm not sure about the others either :(

4 weeks of waiting for HTC Desire and still no idea when I'll get it. :\
The carrier in Finland hasn't gotten any Desire's in 3 weeks...
They had a great offer and got a lot of orders. Now people are getting pretty pissed at waiting.

The offer was 19,90 euros a month for Desire, unlimited 3G (both speed and data) and some free calls. I've been paying 28 euros for iPhone 3G and 20Mb data. (no free calls)

But the more it gets delayed, the worse the deal becaomes since Desire is already 'old' in hardware.

I'll wait for it though. Unlimited 3G for that price is too good. Maybe I'll get a Desire with the Sony SLCD screens.

Yeah I got a Cliq XT for free a month and change ago and I'm already looking to replace it. :lol

Looks like my only options are to sell this thing on ebay for cheap. :lol

So I just got the Incredible, and will be in my 30 day period when the X comes out, do I swap?

I really enjoy HTC's UI, and the phone is a good size, but damn the X looks nice.
