The Droid weighs the same as the EVO and is thicker and more angular, and only slightly less tall and wide, despite the big difference in screen sizes.

Yup that was me also.... but since it was coming out so close to me going to Europe and the phone wouldn't work over there I decided to wait til I got back.Fatalah said:I was exactly the same way leading up to the Incredible's release. Absolutely nuts.
I spent 99% of my days at the androidforums.com. Go there if you want to go insane.
your not the only one, this looks like i'll have to get to my verizon store a couple hours before they openNH Apache said:So I called VZdub today and they told me that if I wanted to pre-order the X, I would have to do it online. If I wanted to order it over the phone and just have it charged to my bill, I would have to wait to the 15th to call. I usually charge it to my bill because then I can write it off as an expense.
I would like to pre-order the badass X now, but I believe the only way I can do that is through BB, right? VZW also told me today that the NE2 policy changed since I got my last phone and I now have only a 50 dollar credit instead of the 100 I had towards my Storm (BS!).
Anyways, other than the fact that I am 100 percent obsessed with this freakin phone now, especially the DLNA and mobile hotspot feature, has anyone heard anything negative? How do you think VZW knows when you are using the mobile hotspot feature? Do you think that there might be a workaround where paying the 20/month might not be necessary?
Here are some videos of the phone I have been watching (repetitively, I might add):

It looks to be the same as the Droid, cept faster and better keyboard.Jtwo said:I think the Droid is a near perfect form factor.
At least for me.
It's really a shame that supposed Droid2 looks to be lame as fuck.
Called the Samsung Epic 4G, the device will be the only Galaxy S phone released on a carrier that has a physical QWERTY keyboard (so far). The specs for the Epic certainly live up to its name: 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, front-facing VGA cam, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, and, of course, WiMAX connectivity.
As for software, the Epic will launch with Android 2.1 beneath a Samsung skin with features like DLNA support and Social Hub. Finally, the device clocks in at just 14.2 mm thin. The Epic 4G will be available "in the coming months."
You mean, the Evo? :lolbathala said:From the looks of it. The pattern is touch only android then qwerty android phone and then another touch only.
So... Next android phone for sprint will be touch... *coughpleasedroidxlikephonecough*
After this qwerty samsung phone, I would like to see Moto make a DroidX like phone for sprint.Jayge said:You mean, the Evo? :lol
I haven't seen that anywhere. They do claim 9 days of standby time, but only 8 hours of talk time. Do you have a link to anything that says they got 9 hours of talk time out of it?bathala said:After this qwerty samsung phone, I would like to see Moto make a DroidX like phone for sprint.
Droidx has a huge screen yet slimmer and from the reports I'm hearing 9hrs of talk time (tested). Good battery. I just don't like Verizon's plan

What I can say is that I received the phone with an 80% charge at 2PM. After heavy use, the Droid X still had 50% at 11PM. That's not bad at all, though I hadn't synced email. Today, I left the house at 5AM with a full charge. After 9 hours of email, Twitter, etc., it still has 70% charge.
Pretty damn impressive if that's on stock settings. Moto is bringing the heat. The Evo drops to like 85-90% about 45 minutes after you take it off the charger and then it slowly elongates itself over time, it's very weird.bathala said:

Cocopjojo said:I need a Droid app that will let me turn on and off Bluetooth from a shortcut on the homepage. I only use Bluetooth when I drive and I don't want it draining my battery the rest of the day, and it takes forever to dig down into Settings to turn it on and off. There are lots of "shortcut anything" apps, right? Is there one that will do this?
Yup.jersoc said:homepage>hold down for widget>power widget that's built into stock.

I can't either. I have one in my palms and it is just so amazing!thirty said:i can't wait for the slew of new Froyo phones to come.
I'd get the 4 over the Desire. That's just me. I'd get an Evo, Incredible, DroidX and Samsung Galaxy over the 4 though. I recently ordered an upgrade to an iPhone4 but since the reception issues etc I faultered a bit and since it was out of stock, it still hasn't been dispatched, so I can cancel my order and go the Desire route.

I upgraded yesterday. The myTouch Slide is a pretty nifty phone, and it's about 1000x better than the Cliq. I can't even stand looking at that phone now.
