Good app, but I wish that there was the ability to favorite certain teams!

The ScoreCenter from ESPN will allow you to do that. I don't think it's that big of an app, is it?

As a side note, I keep getting these "running out of storage space" messages. I've moved every app that allows me to SD, and I don't even own that many apps, so I'm confused why I'm running up against the limit already.

Yeah, the problem with the espn app is that it has not been updated for 2.2 for some reason.

Also, go check you settings and see how much storage space it says your sd card has.

fancywidget

Unfortunately pulled from the market :(

Anyway I'm not after a HTC Sense clock replacement - just an indication of what people are using that's better than the 4x2 HTC widget. Surely there's something better out there than the default one that comes with my phone (and of course what other people not on HTC Androids like)?

That would probably be Beautiful Widgets.

Google 'fancy widget apk', you should be able to manually find and install the apk.

neogaf's iphone app is just a web app, isn't it? you can access it on android too

www.secondapps.com/neogaf/

at least, it worked on both when I last used it

Anyone know where I can find this wallpaper?

edit- found it!

On another note, is there a way to set your lockscreen to be a different image then your homescreen?

So we've got the cloud to android app that can push web pages/maps etc onto your android device.

And now someone is working on the app for the other direction - Android to PC. Works well already for pushing web pages from Android. Dev says he plans to add more features.

http://code.google.com/p/android2cloud/

There's a chrome extension to install on your PC and an app to install on the android device.

App: http://www.appbrain.com/browse/dev/Paddy+Foran

Extension: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/hkelgkihphkegiaagbcgglfidabmgkgp

played some games and they all run smooth.

Few audio bugs, and other minor graphical errors but this is an amazing version 1.

edit: Metal Gear Solid won't load for me
I do get choppy audio but i think it depends on the game
FF7 runs smooth on my DX on default screen refresh rate

Crashes on starting a game for me (Wild Arms). No helpful error messages, just a core dump in the log.

Found a game called Battleflood (playing the free Battleflood Free version at the moment) that's kind of cool, a simple two-player game based on flood filling. Strange question, but does anyone know of a PC equivalent? Either flash based on Kongregate or similar, or stand-alone?

Lately I've been trying to get into Foursquare. Some friends recommend it, it seems to be gearing up to be the next trend (it's current "underground" state reminds me of Twitter before it rocketed into stardom) and for my work it looks good to have a presence and understanding of as many social networks as possible (I really need to make a Tumblr).

Anyway, my interest in Foursquare (which sucks, imo) lead me to Gylmpse (Click for AppBrain).

It's a beautiful app that allows you to share your location with anyone, anywhere. No account to sign up for. Share it through email, text, Twitter, Facebook, whatever. Set expiration times. Attach a message. They don't need the app to see the Glympse. It's completely hassle free. It's super simple and really fast. I like it a lot. Just thought I'd pass it along, I've used it for fun and function so far with success.

Thanks, this is probably my favorite app so far (granted, I've only had my phone for a couple of weeks). It's come in very handy a couple of times this weekend.

Alright Android people, help!
My phone carrier is rumored to finally be getting an Android phone and I just want to see if it will be worth it to change.
"Android 2.1/MOTOBLUR powered by a 600MHz processor and a 3-megapixel camera"

Most phones we get are rather old (I am using a windows 6.1 phone right now).
Will I still have a nice pool of apps to use?

Why not buy a sim free one yourself? You should check your country's law about bringing your own phone into a contract. In some countries the carriers have to subsidize a phone if you are in a contract, not necessarily the one they are selling you.
So you might be able to buy a phone that you want, bring it over into your contract and they will refund you according to what they say they would refund you if you bought the phone with a contract from them.

I would do that, as a lot of apps aren't showing in the market if you aren't on certain specific carriers and if you root your phone you can fool the market app into thinking you are from a different country on a different carrier than you actually are.

Oh my gosh, the best free app I've ever ever downloaded --- CardioTrainer.

So much win in one little app. It's essentially Nike+ but free!

Damn, it's impressive.

Using GPS, the app tracks your runs. The app notifies you of your progress as you run via British robot voice. If you reach a stoplight, or stop moving for whatever reason, the app stops counting until you start up again.

Music integration. Create playlists. Pedometer. You can race against yourself. It graphs your runs. It keeps detailed records of your runs. You can even upload your stats and rank them up against the World.

SO MUCH WIN!

Seconding this. I use it to track my rides now I've got an electric bike, so I can see distance and speed. It's brilliant, and the fact it's free is great. As it means I wouldn't hear cars I don't use the music, but the notification of my speed etc through my headphones is great.

I know there has been much talk about RSS readers

Pulse

TechCrunch said:
Pulse is essentially a better-looking and more intuitive way to read your favorite RSS feeds. That’s because the experience is visual and touch-based, rather than being a bunch of text you click on. The fact that it uses RSS also differentiates Pulse from its new rival Flipboard, which pulls in actual content rather than RSS in a way that may be legally murky. You may recall that Pulse was taken down from the App Store shortly after its iPad launch after the New York Times complained about the use of their content. This was especially odd since just 24 hours earlier, no less than Apple CEO Steve Jobs praised Pulse on stage during his WWDC keynote. But (and perhaps because of that) Pulse was quickly reinstated, and has stuck around with no problems since then.

Hey guys, I've got kind of a weird bug or something going on and was hoping I could get some help.

Every time I long press the home button to switch between tasks, it resets my default home.

I'm using an EVO with Launcher Pro.

Any ideas?

That's an issue everyone with EVO's using Launcher Pro has, AFAIK. I know it's been posted in the EVO thread a lot and on the Launcher Pro forums.

Edit: Did some searching on his forums and found this:

Anyone encountering this issue on an EVO, go uninstall the updates to Qik (this won't remove it from your phone, just turn it into regular Qik instead of "Qik for HTC EVO"). That's what seems to be causing the issue. The quick launcher is more valuable to me than qik was, so looks like Qik won't be getting used until they fix whatever it is they've done.

I don't know what to tell anyone else with another phone having the issue.

Props to senormatt in the LP+ forum for figuring this out!

Oh is it? I usually post on the EVO thread and didn't run into it. I never noticed the issue until recently too. Not a big deal, but didn't know it was just an issue for EVO users.

EDIT: andycapps with the quickness. Thanks man. I should've searched. Just uninstalled the Qik updates and it's back to working.

Is youtube HTML5 m.youtube.com working on your android devices?
I don't think so. The site works just fine, but there's no HQ button and when I click the video links it throws me to HTC Flash player. I read awhile ago that this was an issue of some sort though, but I don't know. I don't know anything about anything anymore.

HQ only works in the youtube app...or so they say.

:lol My bad, I edit my posts a lot rather than double posting. I'll be uninstalling the updates for Qik as well tonight. I'll post what I found in the EVO thread as well for the other users.

So does anyone think some of these aesthetic changes with the new Maps/Navigation/Places update are a sort of sneak preview to some of the aesthetic changes that will be occurring in Gingerbread? It seems like they are moving a white/clean look compared to their previous black backgrounds.

I wonder if they are going to unify this style across all their menus?

I read an article somewhere about how they hired someone from WebOS to help them unify Android... something was said about the current Gallery and how future versions of Android might be based on that look/menu system I think.
