Is there a way to change the default positioning in the "sharing" menu?
The only two ways I ever want to share a picture are with messaging or gmail, and I would like those to be at the top when it pops up, instead of having to sort through them.

Made even worse by the fact that the camera is landscape so it doesn't use the vertical resolution of the Droid.

Just came in to say that i freaking love swype. I can type emails in a way I never thought possible on a mobile phone. I don't think I'll ever be going back to a standard keyboard. This truly completes my nexus.

Not sure if anyone saw this, but Natural Motion has ported the iPhone Backbreaker game over to Android

It might be Droid only, though. I've seen some people on the net with Incredible's and its not showing up for them.

Here's some pics of the iPhone version

BackBreaker iPhone

It is a huge install though.

I've been messing with the game and its pretty good.

Are you kidding! That game was my obsession for weeks.

I can't find it in the market, but it sucks that it's so big. WTF. Do ~5mb on the phone and dl the rest to the card, like Raging Thunder. I don't download huge shit.

In other news lol, Dolphin Browser HD is out. I haven't been blown anyway with any browser enough to switch from stock as default, but this might change now. It has different gestures, you can draw symbols on the screen to bring up sites, youtube downloader built in, it just looks really good. I'm gonna try it out now.

edit: So after some time with it, it's changed my life. I'm buying the paid version. I know a lot of people here love Xscope so I'm not sure if anyone will feel the need to switch, but for me, the gestures in Dolphin HD are amazing and are a welcome addition to mobile browsing. I love gestures in Chrome, I love Gesture Search, so this is a nice addition for settings, commands and bringing up websites. There's also a Purple theme which makes it look a lot like the Gallery 2.1 app, so everything ties together nicely.

It performs great, has tons of options and a few addons (hello, Read It Later) and just blew me away. It's worth checking out.

I'm not sure if it was only me, but I could never get video on the ustream beta app. They recently updated to the latest version, though, and now it seems to work pretty well. It is still a bit choppy even on wifi (same stream on my PC is much better), but it does work!

Edit: I can't seem to find the QR Code, but it should eb in the marketplace.

Edit2: is there a good program for getting screen caps? Most of the google search results are for ways to do it on the G1 and I'm wondering if there is a better solution now.

this looks awesome. thanks for the heads up. i'm glad the different browsers are starting to compete with each other now.

Without root, grab the SDK and run the ddms program. With root, there are plenty of apps.

Is Xiaa live (droid live) worth the 3.99? I can't find anything that specifically lists the differences between pro and lite.

Lack of ads and the ability to backup your favorites (Although installing Ad Free from Marketplace takes care of the former :P ). If either of those interests you I guess it is worth it otherwise? Stick with the free IMO.

I'm using an older version of Droid Live because I found Xiaa disconnected and had to rebuffer much more often.

Does dolphin typically get better with each release? I'm loving the hd browser but it is a little slower than stock. Comments suggest it is resource heavy too which means less battery for my incredible. I'm keeping it around but won't buy yet until it improves some.

So is there a paid version of xscope for android 2.0+? All I see is the lite and the 1.6 version paid.
I was using a version on my dad's Nexus One last night that he said he paid for so there must be one. I thought it was ridiculous he paid for a browser, but golfham it's blazing fast.

Mint is awesome. Im glad they let you put the extra security passcode on there too for that extra peace of mind. This is going to be so handy.

Is xscope resource heavy? Im looking for a browser thats better than the stock. Dolphin HD was nice but seemed to eat my battery life like nothing. I also dont know if this was my imagination or not but I had Dolphin HD on in the background while charging and my battery was taking forever to hit 100%. The moment I closed Dolphin, the % started jumping up as fast as it usually did.

You know, I hope Google scoops up AppBrain and just makes it standard. I haven't tried it yet, but I like the set up on their website and the idea behind it is really nice.

I find that Dolphin has some nice gesture controls (probably better than any other mobile browser), but other than that it seems like a hog and the UI is too glossy for my taste. Xscope is smooth as butter, and the UI does not take up much space...very simplistic.

DAMN. That's pretty exciting and impressive.

Take that, Jobs.

P.s. New York Times App is out, really nice and polished. Like it.
Yes, NYTimes app is amazing. Also, The Weather Channel app got recently updated and I'm not sure if it's new but it now has the option to display the current temperature in the status bar at the top. Awesome.

Did you catch the end? Possible glimpse of 2.2?

Will check out NYT app. :D
Hm. The multiple search engine thing is odd, but it would be handy for wiki and youtube. The android seems to be a hints and tips widget, so that's whatever. I'm digging the dock at the bottom for phone/browser/apps, its an elegant look to what Sense attempts and fails imo, but I can't help but feel its a Nexus exclusive and wouldn't come to other phones like Droid. We will see. Cool stuff, but flash definitely takes the cake.

wow...in the past...what? Three weeks we've received some amazing top on the line apps.

Twitter is awsome
NY Times app...
The Wather Channel app has been update twice with really nice improvements

The people behind the Facebook app need to get their shit together. That app is seriously testing my "paciencia."

I know what you mean about 2.2 and it feeling like it's exclusive. I do believe Google is working on how to do core OS updates with out the need of manufacturers or carriers to be involved (ie Sense UI, etc). If they can figure out a way everyone (mostly) will be on the latest OS. Here is hoping.

The Twitter app is so awesome I've been thinking about actually using Twitter instead of just using it to read what Coco is up to.

Google Maps was updated. Nothing major, annoying navigation now gets an icon in the launcher (this is new, right?). Cool thing...they updated the Google Maps Live Wallpaper. Before it showed a big blue circle of where you could be, now its an accurate small dot. Gonna see how it performs (accuracy, battery life), might switch from Neural.

Google also released a Google I/O app today. Even if you dont go you can keep tabs on the conference straight from the app. Really neat.

I'm liking the Maps update.

i use twitter as a news feed exclusively, its actually really great for some things. My favorite breweries / bars use twitter whenever they replace a keg and change whats on tap, its perfect for that

Cool, I wonder why it doesn't come up in a search on the market.
Dunno - when I search the market on my N1 for "xscope" it's the first result I get.

It's not really clear to me why Google hasn't built a web interface to the full marketplace yet, since AppBrain obviously has access to that data. AppBrain as an app is a little kludgy (imperfect sync setup) but the website is indispensable for browsing the market.

That was there before but they broke it in another recent release, so they're just fixing it now.

May not be. Could be a search filter dropdown, i.e. filter images, news, etc. inline with the change they've made to the Google home page search.

Any reason why Google hasnt released a miniature version of Chrome to use as their internet browser? Id love to have it on here if it could be as speedy as the full version.

huh? The native browser is based on Chrome. It's the best you will get, minus whatever revisions Google comes out with in 2.2 (visual tabs pls).

i was hoping they would release that. I'll actually be in SF on vacation visiting friends so will not be able to watch the youtube stream and will be right down the road from the conference.

hmm, appears only really helpful if you are going...

does the youtube on the phone allow you to stream the broadcast? Either that or i'll have to use neogaf as my live update

No idea, but they really need to update the default browser - its horrible.

Hopefully 2.2 comes with an updated one

I just rooted over the weekend and my N1 seems so much faster but I have a few questions.

How do I get a better keyboard on my phone? The stock one isn't too bad but I'd like to try out a few others.

This thing guzzles battery power like a whore at a gangbang. What else can I use aside from setcpu to get this baby in check?

Its functional and faster than some of the others but it has a few issues. Visual tabs is a must (like you said). Ive also been having issues whenever I want to push and hold to open a link in a new tab, i get those goofy green dot copy/paste/search wikipedia things. Is there a way to remove that?

I also hate having to goto Menu>More>Home just to go home. I loved Dolphin HDs gestures and would love it if the stock browser got those...even if it was a set amount just to do certain tasks.

All valid complaints. I was referring more to the rendering engine, as pages look as good as they are going to in any browser on Android.

Wow! You all weren't kidding about how awesome Swype is! I've been using it for 10 minutes so far and am blown away. (and am currently using it to "swype"this message). I can't wait to get really good with this thing!
