Is it still on the bootscreen even now?

i waited another 5 minutes and then pulled out the battery. i wiped it and flashed again, but the results are no different.

Pretty sure they're tied to your google account. I'm pretty sure you could even get them on a phone that doesn't have a SIM in it.

Correct. I actually have two android phones (one with service that I use as a regular phone, and one that I use strictly for development) and my purchased market apps are available on both.

You just bought it. Take it back.

Apps shouldn't be the cause. Seems defective. You could do a factory reset to see if it goes away or just or just return it.

Looking online though, other people are having this issue and it seems like it's happened after the installation of version 8. Can software be rolled back or should we just wait until new software is released?

Ok, I rooted and rom'd. Went with Cyanogen 6-RC3. I'm using an Inc.

Went ok aside from the fact that my GPS doesn't work. I was instructed to modify the APN, but when I went into my wireless settings, there was no menu for APNs. Also, I haven't been able to properly install anything off of my SD card. Everything I put on there is given a duplicate with a "." in front of it. In addition, I heard that there is no Droid X rip that is compatible with 2.2, truth?

I installed Launcher Pro, and set it as the default when hitting the home button...how do I switch it back to the default homescreen?

Go to settings--> applications --> LauncherPro --> clear defaults.

Alright...so this is question is going to seem hyper n00bish, but if I decide to root my DInc (and I really want to), is rooting the equivalent to reformatting a PC (ie. I have to reinstall all apps, etc.)? Also, what's the best way to go about rooting? Whats the best ROM to use? Any help would be really appreciated.

If you want the HTC-like widgets then yes yes it is.

However if you have a slower device then tons of widgets on 7 screens can affect performance/cause a lot of redraw.

2 obvious questions:
* is GPS turned on?
* are you indoors?

short of that, just reboot it. i've had on rare occasion on past releases the GPS would kinda of die.

people miss that.

sometimes it takes a while to find. like several minutes on occasion.

the only other idea i know of is if another app is trying to use it, it seems to sometimes block other apps from using it. maybe start killing apps?

CD = change directory.

Basically navigate to the fastboot folder

That's why I stopped using it. Only using wordwise now. Free version is only 3 games a time, but at least it works!

Under Applications > Development - Do you have Allow mock locations ticked? If so, take it out. Give that a try.

Dunno if you need to reboot or not.

I like Dolphin HD (and gifs work for me). I just wish there was some way in full screen mode (where it hides the notification bar) to easily get access too the tab gui at the top - at least I haven't found it yet.

Google My Tracks, can be a little overbearing... it tracks a lot. Spits out graphs for speed, distance, altitude, etc

I've been using CardioTrainer. It has the added bonus of bugging the fuck out of your friends by updating your Facebook status with time and distance travelled.

Yeah, but that also opens the bottom menu. I like how in non-fullscreen mode if I'm at the top of the page I can do a slide down and essentially pull the tabs into view. I don't really see why they'd disable that in fullscreen mode.

Download the Android SDK. Navigate to the "tools" folder and then click "ddms.bat". Select your device (Should be first on on that list) and double-click. Then click CTRL+S

Just go to the normal calendar view and select today's date. That works for me, anyway.

I had that issue a few days ago.. even replacing the widget and hitting refresh did nothing, it just fixed itself a few days later, i still don't know what happened

Sorry, I don't really know how wallpapers fit on the Droid. The best advice I can give you is try different crops or resolutions.
