You have a price in mind yet? Please tell me $.99 or $1.99. Be one of the few developers to do that and put out a good game and I think you'll sell quite a bit more copies. I know I'm much more likely to buy something at that price than at $4.99.

We'll have 2 versions; a "lite", ad-supported version, yet full-featured, and then a $.99 version which will get rid of the ads, give you an extra ship or 2, and maybe some little easter eggs.

We know the mindset of most mobile gamers. We're interested in everyone enjoying the product, and with the above strategy, we'll make a profit from both versions.

Anyone have issues with (what I think may be) widget locker and launcher pro? Every so often when I unlock my phone Launcher Pro will "reboot" and reload all the widgets.

Yep and my Droid X has been pretty unstable in terms of freezing to the point of needing a battery pull as well with it installed. Really bummed out because I enjoyed the lock screen functionality it gave me, however, since removing it I've not had any issues. I too figured it was a Launcher Pro thing.

Interesting, mine isn't quite that bad, it just restarts Launcher Pro and reloads all the widgets on occasion (takes 10-15 sec).

yeah...but you can change that in the settings tho.
 
Hey guys,

I'm thinking about buying a new phone! I have WiFi 24hours a day at home and at university (I live 20 meters away from my University), so I will be most of the time connected!

How long does the batter usually last when using WiFi connection?

I've been looking forward to buy a Samsung Galaxy 5 (I5500) or Galaxy 3 (I5800), that are 2 of the cheapest models with Android 2.1 (will they have the 2.2 update?)! Is there any concern about them? Do they run any aplication from the Android Market or will they make me feel like running Win Vista in an old PC?

ps. I'm from Brazil!
 
Did a quick search and couldn't find anything; is there a pdf notation app around (like papers for ipad)? Considering picking the archos 10 up when it comes out and the ability to take uni notes in lectures would be really useful.

Quoting myself so people don't miss out on this. This is a really full featured game with good graphics, lots of levels, and a cross of gameplay between World of Goo and Lemmings. Definitely worth the download, and again it is free for a limited time.

I just realized I can put a shortcut for a specific playlist and it plays from the first song when you touch the icon on the homescreen.

Oh, Android. I think to myself "It's just so many steps, I wish I could launch it quickly" since I usually play the same playlist from the beginning for a couple weeks and then do the same for a new one... and then realize Android has that feature. What can't you do.

Pre-2.2 Google Search widget: Searching for one of your contacts would make their name appear at the top of your search results.

2.2 Google Search widget: Contacts are at the bottom of my search results, below applications and web results.

How can I get my contacts to appear back on top? It was a very convenient way to quick search for a contact!

I just use voice commands. If I'm in a noisy area, I just text.

AFAIK it learns, if you continuously keep prioritizing the contacts, eventually it'll start putting them on top.

The new 2.2 widget lets you filter results, excluding what you don't want it to search - click on the google logo icon on the left of the widget and you can select just to search contacts if you want.

I realize that, but it is more efficient for me to get my contacts listed on top of search results like in the past when the "all" search filter is applied. Not a big deal, but it's just easier to get my friend "Luis" at the top of results when searching for "lui" instead of a bunch of search results like "louis vuitton" and "luigi". :lol

Good deal. Thanks for the info, and I hope that is how it works. I also noticed that, if you don't clear your search history, it will list previously searched for results at the top.

It really is, it's awesome to get a very well made game on the platform. Makes me look forward to the many games that I'm sure are in the pipeline to be released. That is an example of a game I would pay $2.99 for. If I'm paying more than $1.99, I expect it to be a pretty major release. Ex. Metal Gear Solid title adapted for Android, or Silent Hill for Android. I don't expect another block stacking game to be sold for $2.99, there are already too many of those.

Can't wait for the Angry Birds beta that'll be going up on the market tomorrow. They changed it to that since the sign-up response was so great.
 
Does anyone else's MMS pictures received play in the form of a video? So odd. A black screen for 8 seconds, picture makes an appearance, then more black screen.

I can't even download MMS messages for some reason. I press the download button, it says it's downloading, but nothing happens :/
 
How do I get that Tiki Towers for free? I clicked that link and it downloaded a file, but what do I do from there? I'm new to android

What I usually do is save it onto my SD card, load up my file manager (I use Astro) and just select the file. It'll give you the installation warning and you're good to go.

rename the file.apk.zip to just file.apk

in your android settings, go to apps::development and make sure 'unknown sources is checked', then use a file manager like astro to open the apk.

They're giving it away because of the problems with Doodle Jump. But obviously they're not publicising it too well because they still want to sell copies.

EDIT: Tried posting a link to the .apk on another forum I frequent only to have the mods delete it. Twice. Some people just don't like others sharing the love....
