Does FB still work for you on tweetdeck? It stopped showing on mine....

you have to click on your facebook account and it reconnects. It blows and i stopped using tweetdeck because of it

New version of Launcher Pro out, looks like it lets you set the number of rows and columns on your home screens (up to 10x10). Also adds a "Friends" widget that combines Facebook and Twitter.

Same and same. Although, I don't see the benefit of choosing the number of rows/columns because it doesn't resize the icons/widgets so stuff just overlaps. :/ Maybe it works better on high-res devices.

yep it's the new version...slight layout change too. Now everyone can bask in the awesome reply button

what else is left to seperate from the base rom? Internet....

edit... gallery, email, car home, camera... shit, lots of stuff

Kind of interested in this new version of Twidroyd. Bought the pro version when I first got my phone but couldn't get it to work correctly. Switched to Seesmic and haven't used anything else since, but may give Twidroyd another shot

Not gonna be available until 9AM PST tomorrow, although I guess it could come early.
Dammit! Oh well, that won't be too far off my daily routine for the last two weeks... Wake up to Droid alarm, check for updates.

new gmail looks okay, I'm not sure if I like the new reply all/forward button UI, but it is probably better than a popup since most of the time people just want to reply.

In any case, it is good to see these apps start rolling out onto the market, less reliance on the manufacturers and carriers

Not a fan of the way they did priority inbox on it, but I agree about having it on the market being a good sign.

Woo, I can finally watch Plinkett reviews on my X!

One thing that's annoying me though, is how do I disable the inactivity pin? The option is grayed out.

Edit: Holy shit! Animated gifs!

How do I get the latest GMail app? I can't find it under "Downloaded" in the Market, probably cause it came preinstalled, but I can't find it by searching for GMail either *shrug*

I'm new to this, what is the best way to keep your apps updated?

You need 2.2, and you can try finding any Google app, and doing a "find more by this developer".

I love the new gmail. The new button placements are exactly what I always wanted.

The Twitter update is a bit sad. It took out the flying animation and added a button for trends. That's lame but then again it was part of the reason the app was slow. Hopefully Facebook follows suit and removes those sliding pictures - cool idea but slows shit down.

Don't understand why Twitter and FB refuse to rotate those buttons on the mainscreens of the app for a landscape mode. Rage.

Is there finally a reply all option on the official twitter app?

The one downside to CyanogenMod 6 is that system apps like GMail don't update easily through the Market.

Worked fine for me, usually it doesn't though..

EDIT: did anyone else get a popup on their phone about swift keyboard coming out of beta, and that we'd have to pay 99c to continue using it? I tried getting it, but it wasn't in the market - anyone else had any luck?

The platformer Jumpy is now out. It's inspired by Sonic and Mario, is tilt (or dpad) controlled and is pretty simple and polished platforming action. It has Open Feint for highscores and achievs. The controls could be better but its a nice beat your best score meets platforming game, worth playing around with the lite version and about $2 for full.

Also, the bad guys look like Kirby.

Yeah, same issue for me. But if you search for Swift Key in the market, the proper page will come up. Click the one that isn't beta.

I have been thinking of rooting my Droid X when the 2.2 root is released, what are the benefits?

I know you can use Roms then, but what roms are worth using that make the phone that much better? Also how easy is it to get roms? Any downsides to rooting?

Thanks!

i one touch rooted my nexus one for the sole purpose of being able to force move all applications (well most) to my sd card. i still run stock. You even have that option

First off, I don't think it's a good idea to wait until 2.2 to root because most probably, any vulnerability which is currently there to allow rooting will be removed for 2.2, which means you'll have to go through the arduous task of downgrading the Rom (probably through the use of a goldcard or something similar) then root, then applying a 2.2 rom over that.

Secondly, to be honest, I haven't heard much of the community of Motorola phones. Have a look at XDA-Developers and see what's available for your phone but as far as I can recall, all the hassle Motorola was giving and the effort to make the phone untamperable made the community devs just say 'fuck it, we'll keep on working on the nexus one'.

But I may be wrong.

And HTC phones, much easier and more dev support for HTC phones. Though I'm sure some people are trying for Motorolla phones.

You guys should just check out Seesmic. It's the best client I've found. I tried Twidroyd after the most recent update and while it's nice to be able to turn to landscape and see a live view on one side of the screen, the lack of being able to see picture previews in app is a huge step backwards after Seesmic. That and having to pay to manage multiple accounts, of which you can do for free in Seesmic as well. The Twitter app also feels behind to me..

Just got this email

Hello,

We're writing to inform you about some changes to Android Market that require your attention.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be adding paid apps support for additional countries. If you have selected to publish your paid apps to all locations and intend to support all new locations as we expand the number of supported countries for paid apps, you don’t have to do anything. If you have selected to publish your paid apps to all locations but intend to only target the currently supported 14 countries, please update your location selections to target these specific countries.

Please look for follow-up emails when we introduce paid apps support for specific additional countries in the coming weeks. At that time, you’ll have the option to target these specific countries.

Thanks, and we look forward to continue working with you on Android
Market.

Sincerely,
The Android Market Team

I hope that also means they are increasing the number of countries that can distribute paid apps

I currently use Seesmic and have found it to be the best twitter app out there but I also love the look of the official app.
