Yea, you usually have to reboot after getting rid of a system app using Titanium Backup. I had to do it with the other updates as well (voice, maps, mail, etc)

Hrm, didn't work for me, after rebooting it simply reinstalled the app.. might be a desire problem, i haven't enabled s-off yet

Oh man it's amazing. So much better.

Holy shit it really is. It's so fluid, the quality is amazing, it plays the video while you can read and swipe around, I love it. I'm going to use this so much more to kill time while I'm out.

I had that last week on my nexus one. It's still not fully remedied (only downloads/updates over 3g, not wifi) but what I had to do was go into applications and select the clear data option from several apps and then rebooted.

The apps/programs I did it for were:

Download manager
a few of the different google service/processes
Market (also cleared cache)
Talk

and there may have been a few others. A real fucking pain in the arse and I still have no idea what caused it. Many people online have suffered the same thing.
Ah well, at least I'm not alone in the waters. I tried to clear cache and all, but didn't help. I'm hoping it's a temp issue with the update.

Winamp beta app now available on the market, pretty nice at first look.

Has Wi-fi sync with desktop client, haven't tried it yet though.

Once GF swaps iphone 3g for an HTC desire next week, can finally get rid of itunes :lol

I had a quick look at Winamp and the sync your music from the Winamp desktop over USB or Wi-Fi features sound pretty good... if I hadn't uninstalled it from my PC. It wasn't really enough to make me want to re-install it

I'll stick with playerpro - which is my new favourite player. I like the artist pictures and a browse by folder option... Wooooo!

I've been using a combination of Mixzing Pro on my phone, Isyncr to copy files from PC to phone and Itunes to manage music on my PC (came from iphone to Android!).

If I can get Winamp to run the whole show (and wirelessly!) then bring it on :D :D

Dream come true! I can't believe this day has come! I thought Nullsoft was slowly fading away.

Wireless syncing = the best part about this player. Now I will surely keep my phone's library updated!

Android Central has the full story, along with a video tutorial.

About time we get some good news for MotoCliq owners! MotoBlur 2. 1 will be released sometime in November. The update will have to be done through a computer and will take about an hour long =/

That is good news, at the very least it opens up a bit more software for people unable to upgrade for a while. Too bad they took so long with it though.

I'm not sure if this was posted or in the Market yet, but DI.fm (mostly streaming Electronic Music stations for those that don't know) has a BETA Android App.

I only tried it for a couple of minutes but it seems to work (It takes a while to start the app up, it has a progress indicator though)

Stock player + ISyncr (and ISyncr Wi-Fi) + iTunes = heaven. My Droid X syncs better with my iTunes library than my iPod touch does lol.

It's unbelievable that this Winamp beta product has a lockscreen and widget already included. Props to Nullsoft.

One thing I absolutely miss from iTunes/iPod is Compilation grouping. Is there a way to do this using ID3 tags? I have mixes with dozens of Artists.

Is there a music app that uses Apple's tags? Does iSyncr do it?

WinAMP can't open .au files? It's just .wav with a different extension. The stock player can't play those back, either, was hoping this would be a step up.

hmmm, really?

I've used iTunes for like 10 years now and just switched to a Droid X. I've been trying different methods, DoubleTwist right now, but everythign seems to have some problem (DoubleTwist is perfect except it ignores my MP3 tag info for track order... lame).

I'll have to check iSyncer out later. It's on the market?

Wow! That alone makes me want to try it.
I use MediaMonkey to organize and play my music. Might install Winamp just for syncing purposes.

I so, so, so hope that the Google VoIP calls on Gingerbread rumor is true. I'm so getting rid of my voice plan when it happens. Argh! Can't wait.

I'm guessing it will be true, but cell providers will be able to just nix it like they did with wifi-hotspots.

Nexus One. Feels good man.
Or root. I hope it's true but I still couldn't lower my bill all that much yet. I'm on a family plan with my wife and mother-in-law with 1500 minutes. I suppose I could upgrade my wife to an Android phone with Google Voice and drop my mother-in-law and make her get her own individual plan. (she pays us $40/month right now for her share of the family plan) :shrug

Hmm, issues with WinAmp. I hooked my phone up to my PC, WinAmp found it and I added a handful of music.

The music shows up on my phone but when I try to play it a message comes up saying the player does not support this type of audio file. It does this in the stock player too.

Anyone else get this?

EDIT: And when hooked up to my other PC syncing through windows media player I can pull the music off onto that PC and it plays fine, they are all MP3 files, wtf.

When is the supposed release date on gingerbread? More specifically on the droidx?

the nexus one MAY get it this year, i wouldnt expect it on normal phones until jan/feb 2011 at the earliest.

It hasn't even been outed yet, and it took a little under a month for Froyo to get to the nexus one after its "reveal"... then i think it was another month for the first carrier phone to get it.

Transition from Froyo to Gingerbread should be a lot faster I believe. So that sounds very plausible.

Hmm, I have even taken a song off my other computer and added it to my droid via WMP and it won't work on my phone, it is an MP3, wtf.

EDIT: Yeah, not sure what's up, my phone is telling me it doesn't support any of the audio I just moved over in MP3 form, even though it sees all the music and the music plays on my PC.

there are so many confilicting reports on gingerbread and honeycomb, honeycomb is supposed to be ready for CES first week of Janurary to show off all the android tablets there, but is honeycomb just a seperate train from gingerbread? or is the builds being shown at CES on tablets just a very very early build made specifically to show off how android would work on a tablet and not neccessarily that its really near ready? because otherwise it doesnt neccessarily make too much sense. Until the press gets a random google invite to show off and talk about gingerbread its really hard to tell what the hell is going on.

The lack of gapless playback in Android music players is terrible. Can't even listen to most of my music without it.
The only two I know of are Museek and Lithium. Lithium also has crossfader. This is the reason I use it actually.

Museeks gapless playback didn't even work for me. You had to adjust sliders, and it made things overlap or still have a little gap. I'll try Lithium.

Museek's isn't true gapless playback, I don't know that Lithium's is either really. The gapless is just I'm going to play this song X seconds before the one you've just played ends.

At least with the crossfader in Lithium (I use 6 seconds) I don't ever get gaps and I get a nice transition into and out of the majority of my songs.

Any ideas why my marketplace downloads wont download? They just sit in "Downloading" or "Starting Download" and if I try to cancel any of them the program force closes.

This is a total dumb newbie question, but is there some kind of app switcher in Android?

If you are in an app in iOS, you can double click the home button to see the running apps and switch like that. Palm of course has their "card" system to show currently running apps. Does Android not have something like this?

It's kind of annoying launching back to the home screen every time I want to switch to something else.

Hold the Home button and it'll show a list of the most recently used apps.

Long press home.

This happens all the time. I was hoping it was fixed in 2.2 but it is not. It's very frustrating. I have found that sometimes cancelling all downloads, then enabling, then disabling airplane mode and redownloading will fix it.

See that stuff is a bit confusing to me, I don't know what roms are or any of that stuff, not in this context anyways.. I just want my phone to be like a nexus one or something for now, lol.

I'm the same as you and yea, I was able to update? Did you already try uninstalling it through titanium backup?
