I'm currently watching Attack on Titan, and now I'm looking forward a good anime with really good animation. Suggestions?

Aureon

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Fate/Zero
Steins;Gate
Evangelion movie remakes (You <something> (not) <something else>)

Psycho Pass
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Not as good animation, but very similar in themes and feel)

You won't find anything really up to par with Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), simply due to it being airing now with a huge budget.
The only things that have animation and art of that quality are usually off Kyoto Animation, which does nearly only "Everyday highschool" type of stuff, which i wouldn't call a 'good story' at all.

As for good animation as well as story simultaneously

Steins;Gate
Clannad
Cowboy Bebop
Hyouka
Chuunibyo Demo Koi ga Shitai!
Kokoro Connect
Rebuild of Evangelion #1, #2 and #3

If you want just conistant good animation watch some of Kyoto Animation's series.

If you want good story try

Evangelion.
Attack on Titan
Death Note
Usagi Drop

These are all shows.

FLCL, Wolf Brigade, the Ghost in the Shell film, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Denno Coil. If you want something really bizarre, try Gankutsuou.

Or pretty much any Satoshi Kon film, really.

Best fight scenes and animation I've ever seen in an anime. Great story and characters all round.

Not to mention one of the best OST's I've ever heard.

Good list. FLCL is really nice looking, and I'd give a second nod to Gankutsuou for it's very different animation style.

The Utena Movie has some great animation as well. Going to the point of pure architecture porn at some points.

Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade is a very thought provoking and well animated anime movie. It's all about terrorism in a dystopian future and the soldiers who have to keep the peace. It's pretty shocking and certainly not an uplifting experience.

Here are 10 films with strong animation worth seeing:

Dirty Pair: Project Eden
Doreamon: Nobita's Dinosaur 2006
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos
Kizuna Ichigeki
Little Witch Academia
Minori Scramble!
Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise
Tokyo Godfathers
Wanwa the Puppy (from Genius Party)
Wolf Children

Madoka
Goddamn, everyone should watch this, or at least the first three episodes (you MUST stick it out until at least then).

Lot of threads like this popping up recently.

girl-who-leapt-through-time.jpg

THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME
A high school girl finds an object that lets her literally leap backwards in time, but only a little bit at a time. Some really unexpected twists later, the story reveals itself as a sweet romance using time travel as a motif, rather than being about time travel itself.

SUMMER WARS aka Superflat: The Movie for you fancy types
A kid has a part time job maintaining super-facebook, but gets roped into pretending to be his classmate's boyfriend at her family reunion out in the country. The film juxtaposes the combativeness and closeness of family members against a threat that reveals how dependent the modern world is on networked infrastructure. One of my absolute favorite films.

wolf-children-anime-movie-otaku-house.jpg

WOLF CHILDREN
A single mother has to raise her two werewolf children. Evicted, almost penniless and desperate to keep her children's curse a secret, she is forced to move into the country and learn farming. Risking everything so her children can grow up safely, the film serves as a love letter to the sacrifices of motherhood.

MINDGAME
I could describe the plot, but it wouldn't do the film justice. An incredible mind-bending journey about living your life to the fullest.

Kids%20on%20the%20Slope.jpg

KIDS ON THE SLOPE
The newest series by the Bebop/Champloo crowd. Three highschool friends form a jazz band. If you start by taking Yoko Kanno's love for jazz and then make a series based around it, you get one hell of a starting premise.

REDLINE
This is to Speed Racer what Speed Racer was to a normal racing film. The furthest reaches of "over the top" visual adrenaline in a sci-fi race movie. Also features one of the greatest endings in any anime film.

SPECIAL MENTION
Paprika
Night on the Galactic Railroad
Space Brothers
Berserk movies
FMA: Brotherhood
Gurren Lagann's first half
Evangelion (note though that it's one of the most INCREDIBLE series ever made, or UNWATCHABLE depending on your temperament)
Madoka
MADOKA
M A D O K A

Oh yeah, I'll second Akira and Redline. Duh. Although Redline is 90% worth it for the animation (and hilarious ending) rather than story. I also strongly recommend Wings of Honneamise.

Madoka Magica is also really good, if you want to see some really strange animation.

You know what also looks rather impressive? The first four episodes of You are Under Arrest. You could actually stop watching after the fourth episode, because they have a complete arc, but the show is 52 ep.

It is a lovely film, though the animation is not particularly good.
For me, it's in that sweet spot of nostalgia where it adds to the charm.

It might be my actual favorite movie (anime or otherwise), but I didn't give it a splash image because yeah, there's no Studio 4'C -caliber marvels on screen.

Gonna echo my opinion on some animes stated earlier:

- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
- Mind Game
- Satoshi Kon movies (Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika, etc.)
- Fate/Zero (crap, never finished the 2nd season)
- Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (need to see Wolf Children)
- Gurren Lagann
- Cowboy Bebop
- Soul Eater (they started airing it on Adult Swim about 2 months ago)
- Ghost in the Shell (saw the TV series, need to watch the film)
- Steins;Gate (you can watch it free (subbed) on Funimation's YouTube channel, it's worth it if you're into sci-fi dramas)
- Madoka Magica (a serious twist on the whole magical girl genre)
- Usagi Drop (it kind of just.....stops, but it's still a good story about a guy trying to take care of a little girl as his own daughter)

I should probably check out Attack on Titan, considering I've heard a good amount of praise for it (especially with all the OP parodies)

Angel Beats

Has a good story and animation. It has the perfect balance of drama, action, and comedy. The OST for the anime is phenomenal too, I always recommend this anime to my friends and all of them enjoyed it immensely. It had an english dub just in case your wondering.

Here's an example of some comedy in the show. These guys were supposed to distract the teacher before handing out exams but each failed so they got a punishment.

I remember seeing the first episode a few years after it originally aired & was rather surprised how good it was. I need to get around to watching this. I've also been hearing good things about Medaka Box.

For some older animes, Outlaw Star and Trigun are pretty good as well.
