Arc Raiders 324,925 CCU on Steam so far (UP: 700,000 peak concurrent players (PCC) on all platforms)

Im curious to see its genuine legs, every flavor of the month games people go mental for and then they kind of fizzle out to a small crowd of whales while everyone goes back to their fortnite/warzone/fifa

Personally I dont think its doing anything interesting with the extraction genre other than the arc being decent AI to play against.

It still has the similar trappings that makes me drop these games after a week, they become like random shopping cart simulators.

Collect 12 Wimbles in womble
Shoot 5 skimbies in blanda
Extract 5 times with a flooble

Just that sort of shit over and over.

The silly names are used to prove how pointless and meandering these games can become
I've put about an hour into the game so far. Was planning on playing more tonight, but the servers are slammed and there's a queue so I probably won't play.

That said, what I have played has been fun but I can see where the gameplay loop is going to get stale relatively quickly, unless the devs add more content, different objectives, bosses, etc...

I also really don't care for the aestetic of the game. It looks like someone watched 12 Monkeys and decided that would the the artstyle. Same with the maps - yet another post-apocalyptic wasteland.

There needs to be a moritorium on post-apocalyptic and grimdark settings in games.

Looks like I'm about to be wrong.

Gladly will take the L on this one. Played it a few games on the first open beta, didn't connect. Preordered due to hype, refunded after getting shot after walking into a few rooms a few times in the first 2 minutes each time. Gave in bought it again after reading more… after a few more matches it all clicked. Could be my favorite game of the generation.

I know some are talking highly about Marathon and having put thousands of hours in Destiny and about 10 hours in couple Marathon alphas. I think it still will be good, just like how I really like bf6. But Arc is something special the PVPPE just works, the game is a mindfuck with the engagement between players, they have the momentum with a blank slate, hopefully they keep it going.

Keep the hype train going Men in Boxes, well deserved!

Currently ahead of BF6 now, although the 24h concurrent is lower. So good job former DICE, it looks like "Battlefield studios" game is not holding onto the players compared to ARC.

It's bittersweet.

I molded my identity, my being, my essence to become Mr Extraction. I wanted to lord this genre over the non believers. I wanted it to do my bidding.

But now...now everyone is nice and having fun. I've lost my desire to be an annoying 12 year old. How could you rob me of my vengeance? Who am I if I'm not Mr Extraction?

What clicked for you? Gameplay was amazing but also felt a bit of a chore when I played the first beta with all the looting/breaking down/crafting, I guess that's part of extraction shooter DNA? Last thing my fried monkey brain wants to do coming home from work is read crafting guides and whatnot; I just don't have that kind of patience these days.

The crafting bit is all a bit vague but the more you play it starts to get easier, just do whatever in the beginning it will come together more. The progression is good, the PVE enemies are good, but mixing that with the PVP part is where the game lives and where the true fun is. The PVP players interaction with each other is what makes it great, at least for me. Who's on your side, who isnt your always questioning it a little bit or when you run into a group and take down a group of ARCs is just spontaneous.

How is the dlc stuff handled?

If it's like Helldivers 2 with no fomo BS and you can unlock everything by finding the premium currency by simply playing, I'm in.

They seem to be rather vague I'm on this. Heard both ways.

I knew there was a reason why you are on my ignore list

And people made fun of me for posting after weed usage lmfao!

I stand by my statement. I've put maybe 8 hours into the game at this point, and i'm kinda done with it.

Shooting drones and scavaging wires while other players you meet say "don't shoot" or "friendly" gets boring fast for me.

I also still really dislike the aesthetic of the game. That's honestly probably be biggest problem with the game - more post-apocalyptic slop.

Might try Tarkov when it releases this week, or I might not. It may be that extraction shooters just aren't for me.

Arc Raiders developer Embark is celebrating 700,000 peak concurrent players (PCC) on all platforms, which is a monumental success no matter the context, but it's also proof that PC players aren't the only ones digging the new extraction shooter.

Earlier today, we reported on Arc Raiders hitting 460,000 concurrent players on Steam, which again, shows what a massive hit the game is at least on PC, but with this newly revealed peak on all platforms, we now have a much clearer picture of the console-to-PC player split.

Another huge weekend for Arc on Steam with 478k as of writing and to think I was worried for them back in September.

I really want to get into this game, but the tutorial is bad and I'm so confused. There are seemingly hundreds if not thousands of items. The whole inventory management system is extremely overwhelming considering I have no idea what any of these items are. I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing. They kind of just throw you to the wolves with this game.

Best part is the learning. You will know what item to loot later, as of now, just follow the quests and track the workshop upgrades and if you need anything for crafting and loot those items first. It will get marked

You don't have a hoarding disorder like the rest of us :messenger_tears_of_joy:

You're going to get lost, confused, and killed. That's part of the learning experience. Start simple: focus on building your set of workbenches. They let you craft more complicated items, like weapons, shields, and better bandages. The items you need each have a category icon - like industrial, nature, or electrical - and the maps have corresponding icons to show what type of items drop where. Start with that, and the game will start to make sense over time.
