Anyone holding a viewing party for this? I was gonna call my friends up for a marathon but I don't know if I wanna watch it with my friends first because I just know I'll miss all the jokes. But that's what rewatches are for I guess. I've watched the show with my friends before and although it's mostly been fun, they get really easily distracted and talk while I silently judge them.

Edit: Just saw the new photos, and ouch. Lindsey looks awful.

Wow. That was impressively underwhelming. The ad campaign coming out of the twitter account seems a bit disjointed and off the cuff, almost like they're making it up as they go along. Maybe they blew all the marketing budget on the poster placements?

I don't mind the poster, but I know for darn sure that there won't be any more Saddam-related jokes/storylines anymore. Unless it's about ghost-Saddam (Husssssein), which could be awesome.

That's what I mean. (obvious stuff alert) TV has set up a standard of women's attractiveness (on tv) that pushes women over thirty out the door fairly quickly unless they have work done to make their skin tighter/looking younger. We notice the "work" as a sign that they are (1) actually older than they appear, (2) have acknowledged that they do not belong in the category of attractive enough for tv and (3) that they have changed what was originally beautiful about their appearance.

Our concept of beauty has been manipulated by a box (and the old, ugly, wrinkled men at the other end of the cables and satellites determining for us what beauty is).

That is why she had (obvious) work done.

Anyway, it's still Portia.

The only thing she really needs is Adkins. I mean, what a fatty, amirite, guys?

Pretty funny, but Ron Howard's narration seems really stilted and weird.

They certainly felt like the old ones, the writers haven't missed a beat. The only thing I noticed was different was the camera work. It felt like more single camera than a multiple take view.

USA Today article about the premiere (don't worry, there's no spoilers).

One thing from the article caught my eye was apparently the first episode has a new title: Flight of the Phoenix.

From the article:

"Inside the TCL Chinese Theatre, the crowd hollered their thanks, greeting series creator Mitch Hurwitz with a long standing ovation. "You haven't seen it yet!" Hurwitz jokingly admonished the audience before introducing Season 4's first episode, Flight of the Phoenix

Mae Whitman has lost weight since Scott Pilgrim, unless she gained weight for that role.

Mae received so many great roles after AD. Katara on Avatar the Last Airbender, then Tinkerbell. The faces Egg make sometimes remind me of Tink!

I was just saying the height disparity seems exaggerated in that picture. Could be due to Shawkat having higher heels. But she looks super tall there and from what I can tell she's not very tall.
