100% sync done. The new variants to tailing/escort missions in this DLC are even worse than the main game. So bad. Fortunately only a couple to do with each mission type.
Brutal takedowns were cool. I'll see you all again next year for the next one
Anyone else finding the DLC to be a good bit buggier than the main game? Just lots of little minor bugs in traversal and kind of overall.
That said I'll agree with the tailing escort missions being worse, and why did I loose some of my abilities from the main game? Why am I back to having to restrain kidnapping victims.
The new fear skills are cool as are brutal takedowns, but holy shit at the amount of skill points needed to unlock the fear skills.
It definitely doesn't feel as well planned/thought out as the main game to me. Which I loved and is easily the best in the series, and one of the best games I played this year.
Well that's the DLC campaign finished. Found it enjoyable enough - and the Fear mechanic is something that I think could be a lot of fun properly fleshed out. Assassin's Creed games need more non-lethal methods of dealing with enemies, something that I found severely lacking in Syndicate proper.
But as an entry into the Assassin's Creed narrative - the Jack the Ripper piece fails to make any kind of sense beyond being an obvious fit of the time frame of Syndicate and the location. Literally nothing about the story line makes any sense. Jack's motives. The women he killed. Inspector Aberline's motivation to help you after shit hits the fan.(To say nothing of the larger 'Helix/Animus' implications -
I liked that we got to play as Jack, and that his segments had this really glitchy vibe to them, along with the hand written mission objectives, but again it makes no sense narratively to the universe. How are we playing as Evie AND as Jack when Jack is someone entirely unrelated to Jacob/Evie by blood line?
)
There were some new locations explored, which was something I wasn't expecting, but again, given that this is DLC - much like the Fear mechanic - they weren't entirely fleshed out.
I really loved Syndicate, and was excited to see how Ubisoft would graft the Ripper mythos into the AC Universe. But I just can't get over how half baked the story actually was, even if it was supported by some interesting new concepts.

I could be wrong but I thought that the ingame explanation was that Abstergo had negated the need for users to experience the memories of direct ancestors, hence the reason we, the 'tester', could play through Edward Kenway's memories.

Finally got 100% on this DLC. Gotta say, though, going through it again, I was surpised to see that the new spaces (the mansion, docks) were pretty damn small. I could've sworn they were bigger.
Also, it is kind of a bummer that the story ended up being so weak and predictable way before its release. Ah well.
I thought the love angle in the main game was shoehorned, but this DLC, wow...
How in the hell can you play Jack the Rippers memories, if the fucker is dead? Did he manage to impregnate someone right after the last Asylum mission, before you switch back to Evie?
God damn that was shoehorned. Ubisoft needs to start paying attention to their own damned lore...
