was there ever a case on 360/PS3 where a patch improved resolution?
GAmes are infinitely more complex to develop, so it's getting harder & harder to rush out games and have them fully ready. Missing the launch isn't always an option. What the hell is up with these half finished games. Damn it this is a crazy ass launch.
You'll get that shortly
C'mon GAF. Devs are working with beta devkits right now. Give 'em a break.
So always-online DRM's out, but in order to enjoy the full HD experience, you need an internet connection.
Cross gen games.
I'm still over here waiting for my Rayman Legends Vita patch to add those missing levels.
Glad i'm playing this on PC, 1080p as soon as I flick an option in settings.
So any ETA for the patch? How much work is really involved?
Indeed, along with the full 1080p native resolution, the visuals have been improved even further, simply because the engineers knew that with the additional time they could do even more. So they did. And now, not only will you see every single miniscule pixel in glorious 1080p native resolution on the PS4 – exactly as the artists rendered it – but you’ll also see an even cleaner, clearer and more brilliant moving image than anyone even imagined. (Pay special attention to finer details like the ropes on the ships if you want to get an eyeful of what we’re talking about.) And the best news for gamers on the latest next-gen systems? This anti-aliasing technique will be available for both PS4 and Xbox One.

I'm really curious to see how it runs, to be honest. Then 10fps on a Titan due to it being a typical shit Ubi Assassin's Creed PC port.
The lack of timing for this patch is pretty suspect. And highly annoying. My copy is unopened, I might just return it until the patch is out, then re-buy it at a discount down the road.

People are way too hasty to label things bad ports. AC has had good ports ever since they killed the DRM on 2, with 3 being a little spotty due to a new improved dx11 engine upgrade. I expect 4 to be a decent one too.
I even see a lot bashing on the cod ports now because of ghosts when those have always been great until the last one.
This sucks but is kind of cool that they can adjust resolution and other effects after launch.
Yes, its called a command line.
So they are releasing a patch that puts the PS4 to native 1080p with a new anti aliasing method, and the X1 version just get the new aliasing but no 1080p? Am I reading that right?

I just put mine in and it's dl-ing a 143mb patch. Is that the 1080p patch?

They've not said it's live yet so I doubt it.
I wonder if this patch drops and if it means the framerate suffers, if they'll be forced by internet outrage to release a patch with an option to switch.
is the patch in question the 143mb patch that just came on my notifications?
I love this part lmfao
"To meet an essential goal: deliver a visually brilliant game at a steady 30 frames per second (the industry gold standard"
Except it's after the review process in every case...
I'm very, very, suspicious of what has happened.
