The tag doesn't bother me. The inconsistent banning is pretty bad here though. That's why I now include a disclaimer in all my posts. Not sure it will help, and it sucks to do it, but thems the rules I guess. That's just my opinion of course though. No forum is perfect.

Best forums have good tone moderation to stop shit post insults, but loose content policing so that a variety of views can be expressed. It is hard to maintain though, because content policing is really tempting for Stanford Prison guard wannabes.

Public cries for permabans are immature, full stop. If you've got a problem with moderators or message board ownership, there are two ways to deal with it:

— Message/contact them and plead your case.
— Use your free will to stop visiting said message board.

Public account suicides almost always backfire, and almost always make the person posting it look incredibly bad to most of the rest of the community. Sure, you might get a few stray supporters here and there to fill that need for positive attention, but it's an overall damning move.

It's truly unfortunate that the OP had a problem with moderation or management, but pulling shit like this doesn't really garner much sympathy from me. It's a bad look.

I was banned for a month for "console warring". That's fine. I agree that my comment was perhaps inappropriate, and as I already mentioned... The tag is what it is.

The inconsistency becomes apparent when you have posters such as thelastword here. He's almost internet famous at this point for his console warring. He wouldn't survive on any other gaming forum for except maybe over at Gamespot.
Yet he's been allowed to console war here safely for years.

If you're wanting a more direct example, you can go take a look at user DForce. All he does here is war for his preferred console. Seeing as his posts were far more warring and numerous than mine... I thought perhaps a mod would speak with him. I even asked in the comment box of the report function if he was your alt, seeing as he apparently has no moderation. It was in jest of course, but you get the point.

I would have no issue with any of his comments whatsoever, if the same rules were applied to everyone including myself, but they aren't.

I think the real issue is when people start mentally assigning ages to things that generally do not have them. Then it becomes an issue of creating a narrative. Now if this person said he is looking at underage, then he needs to have his head put through a wall.
These games and most of this stuff does not go there and you can say all you want about "well just LOOK at them" but again it is you (not necessarily YOU but you know what I mean) filling in those details. That is on you and not the game or the game maker. At least in my opinion of course.

In this case, I hope to live in the world in the near future where 30-40 year old women look exactly as they do in these games and cartoons!
