My god, and here I thought we would never have a love connection.
I thought we had something, Dyno?

I doubt G-Fex would be willing to dress up as Ichigo for you~

Batman movie threads never end well.

For what it's worth, comparing the quality of the non-Schumacher Bat-films is fair game to me (and perhaps even Batman Forever), but Batman & Robin was and still is complete, utter tripe and the OP reeks of the problem with much of modern nerds and hipsters: they ironically enjoy bad things just for the sake of irony.

I hate this attitude.

I maintain that it is a better movie that Batman Forever. Both are terrible, but Batman and Robin is terrible to a degree beyond explanation and that makes it more watchable than Batman Forever which has to settle with just being terrible.
Batman Forever actually has two good performances (Kilmer as Wayne, Carrey as Riddler) and doesn't have half as many moments of pure embarrassing shit. B&R is the worst big-budget superhero movie ever, worse than Ghost Rider, Wolverine, or even Elektra.

Cause Shumacher likes Greecian bodies so modeled the bat suit and robin suit after them.

Fun fact: Clooney wore the suit to the set of ER to visit his friends.
Gross fact: Clooney possibly urinated in the suit twice since it was a chore to get out of it.

fun fact: Clooney was always bitter that Chris O' Donnell had a bigger cod piece. He joked about that wardrobe gave him a bigger one.

Clooney is a fucking BOSS.

Indeed, far more than Christian Bale.

Still better than boring-as-fuck Begins, though.

Five stars for Beef.

psst i'm not being ironic btw.

Being ironic is so passe.

And yes Nicholson was my favorite joker, I don't care how much Nolan fans and every one and their mama lift up TDK Joker to a high pedestal

It's a terrible, but fun, movie sure. It's better than Batman Forever, if only because it's that much worse.

That said, I don't know anything Schumacher has done that has been even remotely good, in a non-bad/fun kind of way. Granted, I haven't seen more than a handful of his films (8MM, the Batman films, Lost Boys). Perhaps the Grisham based stuff is better, but really, I'm somewhat impressed he's as prolific as he is.

Batman and Robin is just one of those terrible films that you can't help but love. It's got fun for all the family! Kids will love the bad ice puns and cartoony action, whereas adults get to enjoy the wonder that is Batman (and the obvious made for adults jokes).

2 things really made this film for me; Arnie/Freeze getting all of his goons to sing that song and Uma Thurman at her smoking hottest. I went to see this film for Poison Ivy, and not Batgirl!

If a Bat Credit Card is the worst thing to happen to Batman, then he should consider himself lucky he's not Spider-Man.

Always remember kids Clooney and Kilmer > MAJORLY over Tobey Maguire.

Bat Credit card is funny, Tobey acting like a idiot dancing isn't.

The more you know.

The first two Batmans are hokey but respectable, primarily cause of The Keaton Effect. Begins and Dark Knight are Serious Business.

Those bizarre middle two though, Forever and & Robin, are ridiculous, entertaining movies that are just terrible and unbelievable and that is why they are fun to watch. They are never boring, they are overlong but don't outstay their welcome. Forever has the goofy fucking Riddler with Carrey, we get Two-Face Tommy Lee Jones... Batman and Robin! The asinine "I'm ninja-ing my laundry" shit from Robin, a zillion ridiculous ice puns!

If you stop being so concerned that they are ridiculous, I think you'll be surprised how entertaining they are. I love them for that reason.

One of the worst movie ever made. B&R and Forever are two of the worst experiences I have ever had in a theater. I thought Riddler was the biggest butchering of a character I have ever seen...until B&R happened. Bane...god damn Bane...

Holy fuck I forgot all about this bit.

Me and my cousin used to love that bit.

Everybody knows ledger only got a Oscar for dying, nicholson was a far better joker

I think this comment is incredibly insensitive but at the same time I acknowledge that Ledger's Joker was a very different interpretation of the character.

I didn't think Kilmer or Carrey were any good in Batman Forever (although they're good in other stuff). Kilmer's Batman is somewhat decent, but his Bruce Wayne provides unintended hilarity. The fault is not entirely Kilmer's as the script is terrible. When he tries to say something intelligent (at least this movie's version of intelligence) as Bruce Wayne he sounds like an idiot. The only good thing that came from his performance in the movie was awesome elbow in that one scene in Heat.

Jim Carrey is doing his early to mid 90s era schtick. And it was terrible. Thankfully he dropped it not soon after.

I like to think of Batman & Robin as the spiritual successor to the silly Adam West type of Batman show.

This is based entirely off of watching funny clips on YouTube.

Stuff like the Batcredit card and the ice puns... I can't even explain why they're so funny.

They're clearly trying for a joke. And the joke isn't funny. But, somehow, the very fact that the joke isn't funny, in and of itself, is hilarious.

So much glow-in-the-dark paint.

So fucking 90s

Inject that shit into my veins.
That was definitely Batman Forever at the very least. Didn't Batman & Robin tone down the glow in the dark paint look quite a bit?

Well it did help bring about the song the end is the beginning is the end by the smashing pumpkins, so I guess it had something good come out of it.

I remember loving Batman and Robin as a kid.. I don't know if watching it now would ruin it for me or not
The only reason I would be wary of wwatching them.

I need to track the two down and have a "meet your heroes" moment as it were.

I just rewatched this and Batman Forever. Yes, they are still really bad movies. Thoughts off the top of my head on Batman Forever in Live Blogging form:

Jack Nicholson should have sued Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones for doing really bad impressions of his Joker.

DUTCH ANGLES

Why was Bruce Wayne such a dick to Nigma in the first place? All he wanted was a meeting, you dick.

Shitty score, but still has the best pop soundtrack of the 90s. Seal <3

DUTCH ANGLES

Nicole Kidman at Peak Kidman.

After fucking up so many times, and continuing to do so in Forever, how the fuck does Commish. Gordon still have a job?!

Seriously, Carrey and Jones are really fucking bad in this.

Someone cover up Carrey's junk please.

Have I mentioned DUTCH ANGLES?!

STOP LAUGHING TOMMY LEE JONES! You are Two-Face, you idiot.

Nigma becomes a multi-millionaire and begins to challenge Bruce Wayne's wealth but still decides to go ahead with his Batman plan? You know, at that point you won.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. BA'MAN N'YAAAAAH!

This is a horrible movie, but I loved it when it came out. Being a child and all. I haven't seen it in years, but I'm sure I could derive some sort of pleasure from it if I watched it now.
