Batman: Arkham City Screenshots [Teaser Post 535]

I don't like Rocksteady's visions of Harley much. This one is slightly better but still doesn't really set the proper tone.

Still, most anticipated game of 2011.
 
Oh darn, I didn't even realize Harley wasn't wearing a mask this time (I only noticed her subdued make-up).
Interesting choice for her design.
 
Great improvement over the first game as far as character models are concerned.
Really looking forward to this if they can introduce enough fresh mechanics as well as improve some of the first game's faults.
 
I think the whole game'd look better with a film grain filter like L4D. The character's look great (even thugs) aside from two face who could use work. I admire that they've tried to recreate such an amazing effect but they're going to have to be clever with the camera angles and lighting if they intend to leave it as is. Showing less would be a lot wiser I think in its current state.
 
I've been lttp for the first one but I'l be playing this DAY ONE! I enjoy the designs for the new characters (Catwoman, Two Face and the Harley revamp). Hope to see console versions screens soon because those are PC, right?
 
Hopefully they have no more pre-rendered in-engine cutscenes. 720p looked pretty meh in the first game when juxtaposed with 1080p anti-aliased visuals.
 
So awesome. By far my most wanted game of 2011.

I still haven't got platinum on the first though... (some challenges were too much for me)
 
Whoa. The art is considerably better. Not a fan of Catwoman's face, but Two Face and, especially, Harley look awesome.

My first thought after seeing this shot was "Oh, there are goons behind Harley too?, Oh"

I'm linking the look of Arkham City, Two-Face looks great and the the Batman looks exactly how he should, always about to deliver the harsh fist of justice.

Indeed, there's no real need of them nowadays, especially in the PC version.

Seriously, what's worse was that even stuff like the shadows and AA were worse in them cutscenes. Only render them inengine on the PC version if necessary but please don't make the cutscenes look so much worse than actual gameplay.
 
Game looks great, but I really have to wonder what they have against Harley's original look. This new one isn't bad, but still.

Harley was essentially an abomination in the original, but I think this is much better. Less obnoxious and more in line with the style of the rest of the characters.

These screenshots are insane. Can't wait until the first gameplay trailers start rolling out.

Yes, and it's almost guaranteed to have the full Steamworks treatment if it follows the recent Eidos/Sqeenix PC release patterns.

Harley's new outfit reminds me of Legend of the Seeker for some reason. Still, an improvement on the first game's.

Man that guy that threw a bit of acid at Dent's face must have brought a whole barrel of it to the trial in the AA-verse.

Catwoman looks exactly how she's looked in the comics for the past decade. Fantastic.
 
I still haven't finished the first game but I'm enjoying it immensely so far (PC version btw), even though I never was a big fan of Batman's universe.

Having said, I'm hyped for the sequel after seeing these screens.
 
Everything looks great, if not identical to the first one except the characters. It's like they hired a new artist for each character...especially catwoman.

Harley now looks like a regular girl in a scantly clad suit. Where's the facial features and bone structure? The same for Two-Face. Now look at the Clowns and Batman. They have one style with full over-pronounced facial structures. Then Catwoman looks like a cartoon compared to the rest.
 
Rocksteady are fucking amazing. Who knew they could make a Batman game so awesome and dark. This one looks MILES ahead.
