Fuck Ancient Legionaries and their shields.
As I'm sure you might've noticed, piercing weapons aren't very effective against undead. Also, flails are great against shields.

Any advice for building characters to use 2handers? It seems likes shield are necessary (at least early on) and the AoE swings seem weak.
I guess it is a compliment to the game.

I know a lot of people at Obsidian have been obsessing over it too. It's such a great game.
Is the kind of reactivity and depth in that story from the OT evident throughout in the game? That blog post is what made me interested in this
Can anyone talk about this side of the game? It's the main thing I'm on the fence about. I'm interested in the combat, but I'm interested in this kind of reactivity even more.
Map seeds are coming.
Added map seed that can be entered upon starting a new campaign, and seen for ongoing campaigns created after this update, for replaying and sharing maps.
Added checkbox for 'Permanent Destruction' during late game crises when starting a new campaign. It's checked by default to work how you're used to. Unchecking it will result in settlements getting the 'Razed' situation for a considerable time instead of being permanently destroyed.
Added warning prompt for users of Avast due to compatibility issues introduced with one of their latest updates.
Changed game to unpause only after autosaving is completed when leaving towns in ironman mode, so no time on the worldmap is wasted.
Fixed issue with the game potentially hanging in some cases as characters rise from the dead during the Undead Scourge.
Fixed AI not using the 'Footwork' skill properly in some cases.
Fixed issue with 'Decisive Battle' contract.
Fixed issue with 'Privateering' contract.
Fixed various minor issues.
The patch is out with the map seeding, so for a lark I generated a map using the seed: NEOGAF
Finding this game really addictive. Find myself booting it up and raiding sites or fulfilling contracts whenever I am bored and time flying by.
Shame it is getting a bit overlooked on here.
Does anyone know if there are any benefits to buying food besides Grounded Grain?

Hopefully game gets some more press/traction, deserves it.

Time to test that map seeding in a new game. There was an interesting Reddit thread on this.
[*]Changed payment to be slightly higher for high difficulty contracts in order to encourage taking on higher risks for higher rewards.
How is everyone's campaigns going?
I had never heard of this, very interesting. Bought and hopefully trying it tonight.
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this game. It intrigues me. I like mount & blade, xcom, fire emblem and stuff, so I guess it could be a good purchase?
Tried the game and seems cool indeed, but I noticed that during the battles I don't understand what's going on since there almost no animation and stuff
How's the state of the game currently? I've been thinking about purchasing a copy.
The premise intrigues me .. and I like the High Medieval setting. It's been compared to Mount and Blade and Banner Saga, but I found the gameplay to be quite tedious and boring.
It also looks like there is lots of stats management which I generally find dull..

Development on Battle Brothers will continue as we start working on the 1.1 update. It's going to be a moderately sized one that adds lots of little things that didn't quite make it into the release, like some additional events and contracts that were left on the cutting room floor, as well as various quality of life improvements suggested by you. By now, some balancing and pacing issues have also come to light which the update will address. The update will be free and not require you to start a new campaign.
