Oh no ! How sad ! Another bad EA game won't be on Wii U !
I agree with you fundamentally on this, if I was EA that would be the message I took away from CoD's performance but I also can't blame the consumer because Activision was not very upfront about what was coming to the Wii U in regards to DLC and post-release support.BLOPS2 was only 2 weeks old during the holiday period. EA is justified in pulling the plug on development for the WiiU right then and there considering how popular COD is compared to every other FPS out there.

Q4 will be a busy period on Wii U with Watch Dogs, AC4, Mario Kart, Zelda, etc. This game would get a far better chance in a director's cut version in Q2 2014.
If if it was no benefit they would still not care as the 3rd party didnt benefit from Nintendo either.Nintendo don't care about Nintendo?
Gotta love how Nintendo worked closely with devs to develop their new gamepads to suit the needs of FPS games and yet nobody is making any AAA FPS games for the platform. Maybe if it had triggers they'd reconsider?
Have you played it? Do tell us more specifically what was so bad about it?
The fact that we have to rely on Emily Rogers (she's great, btw) to get some semblance of continuity to what could potentially be a truly fascinating story between EA and Nintendo's current relationship is ridiculous.
I wish there was a journalist who would do some journalism about the deteriorating quality and lack of creativity in the journalist field of games journalism.

Missing a few 100k BF4 sales on the Wii U is going to doom the company?
Sure, but projects being green lit and then canned down the line because of poor sales is something that does happen. Such reports were an almost weekly occurence during the early days of the 3DS and Vita. Who is to say EA weren't planning a Wii U release, at least at some concept level, and then scrapped it once third party sales crashed through the floor?
Bad blood or not - and I'm not doubting that does exist - current sales trends on the Wii U are going to prove critically damaging, whether that applies now or in another year down the line. Developers and publishers aren't obliged to commit (or should that be waste) resource to every system on the market if they don't think doing so is to their direct benefit. It's easy to see why the Wii U version of the game wouldn't be.
This sounds more like the shit quality unilateral narrative creation we get from popular games journalism that is so fucking simplistic and so easy to argue that absolutely no journalism is required.
Try again please.

Considering EA recent releases, I wouldn't be surprised if this one end up being bad too.
Game doesn't come to Wii U= "Game is bad anyways."
BLOPS2 on WiiU is great because it allows local co-op, one player on the Gamepad and one on the TV. Oh well.

Thats four games for whats about to be one of the biggest gaming holidays in 7 years. Two next gen consoles are releasing.
Etc...... what other games are there? I can see 3d mario.
Only the extremely poisoned fanboy mind thinks that a game NOT coming to a console is a good thing.Good, means less Origin shit in my consoles.
Also, oh no, we won't get some podunk military shooter. Let me fish my pockets for the not fucks I give for that.

Maybe it's not occured to you that the simplest answer might also be the right one.
Maybe EA have decided it's not worth their time or money devoting resource to the audience that resulted in such low sales for, well, just about every other third party game on the system.
Sounds to me like you're wanting to be just as militant about this as you are about Rayman Legends. Which to a certain extent is fair enough, all power to you. But don't get pissy when people try and spell out the rather obvious elephant in the room, the Wii U's disasterous hardware and software sales, as a possible explanation as to why third parties are backing away from it. There's no "narrative creation" in pointing out the Wii U's dogshit retail performance.
I don't have a Wii U, and I don't care about it. If you're trying to play the "you're a salty fanboy" card, it's a miss.
I'm just talking about EA and their recent output.
hahaha Are you for real? How does that salt taste?

Atleast the Wii had battlefieldYeah, this news won't surprise anyone.
Wii U will get better 3rd party support than the Wii, they said...
i have personally heard that words behind the scenes were that developers were taking a wait and see approach, and hoping for nintendo to build a fanbase with mario before they tried anything (this was early 2012). whatever drove that attitude would explain the current predicament.
hahaha Are you for real? How does that salt taste?
I have to wonder why you'd feel compelled to reply in the manner you did when you don't even own the console or like the game in question.
There is always narrative creation. Just like you created a narrative for me, you too create a narrative to understand the Wii U based only on your limited perception.
Have you played it? Do tell us more specifically what was so bad about it?

My point was that every time a game doesn't come to the WiiU, you always see the "game is bad anyways" card. Nearly every single 3rd party title (which aren't coming to the WiiU) =/= Bad games.
Also, apologies for singling you out. didn't mean to. just find it amusing that there are people investing in a platform and expecting a level of support it has NOT had for 4 generations now.
Colonial Marines.

I myself was actually looking forward to the Wii U version of CoD and their silence on what exactly we were getting besides the core game put me off and now knowing we get nothing I feel rather vindicated in that decision. So I honestly feel that the consumer was right to ignore the title, and it looks like NFS: MW is in a similar spot, which again is a very solid port and the base game is very well done but again, no future support although at least Criterion's come out and said that it depends on the sales which is better than Activision did pre-release.
This would solve the technical problem. However, the other problem boils down to core game sales. It's why third-parties - especially in the west - have not taken Nintendo platforms seriously. It's why a Nintendo platform won't be the lead platform for their projects too.
Game might be shit - but royalties for platform owner and money made by retail from selling game on platform X are always beneficial to the console.
.Well, Nintendo has certainly not set themselves up well for this gen.
Oh, right let me turn that on.If you had the capacity to think long term you would care.
My reply is more like pointed toward EA. As I said, I don't care about Wii U but it's crazy how people are making like this game is important while I'm sure EA will find crazy ways to make it bad with bad decisions.
