Battlefield Bad Company beta coming (360)

Hey, would anyone like to spare a key to a desperate European editor here? I'm not sure if our site will recieve any keys and if so, we'll only be getting them sometime late next week.

I'll be sure to include thanks to Neogaf and your nickname in my preview :)

edit: And oh, an US key is fine too.

Anyone? :(

Intriguing, so the key is a pure download key? I wonder if come the 25th that would work or the system would pick up that your gamertag never downloaded it and won't let you play?

I don't know, but for the Call of Duty 4 beta I made an account literally called 'Account4Beta' (lol) for some of my friends to use to download the beta off it (get the gamertag on their Xbox, and download it from Recent Downloads). It worked for all of us perfectly.

Uhmm..so...my BETA key has been stolen.

How? I don't know...

But I'm pissed...am I SOL? Or is there a way to get a new one issued?

I would like to publically announce that Kibbles is a beautiful person. 24 hours ago he promised to hook me up with a key, 24 hours later my key has been accepted and i have the beta. Thankyou Kibbles, you will always lie close to my heart.

Damn, just when I find out that Comcast users can get in on this, the keys are all gone. I never knew about this perk (free founders club). Hopefully I'll make it in the second wave of keys.

And if that Comcast email method really works, I'll try and create a few more accounts and get you guys some more codes.

That would be awesome.

:) No problem, I'm always glad to support members of the community. I gotta give credit to zaidr for helping me get in, which in turn allowed me to help out PlanetBattlefield, which allowed me to help out others.

Btw, message me if you are interested in knowing when the next sign-ups are. I'm pretty sure the info I have is true as it's coming from a very reliable source.

Did you need to create a gold account for this?

Obviously you'd need one to actually play the beta, but wondering if they restrict free silver users from redeeming the code and downloading it.

I don't know, but I used one of my one month golds on it just in case.

Damn, I just checked with a proxy and all the US keys are gone.

But the europeans ones are still available to Insider/Founders. But you probably can't reach the page :/

I can't believe they're really gonna sell the guns during the beta. They'd have some epic backslash coming their way. :lol

Anyone here gonna microtransact themselves some guns?

If its like Battlefield 2's system of "grave robbing" where you can take a dead ally or enemy's kit, then that will be the only way I'll use them or if the guns are under 100 MSP which I highly doubt.

Edit - Are we exactly sure that we're going to pay for items in the beta? The retail game is understandable but EA can't be that ballsy to charge for DLC in beta,

I might impatiantly purchase the F2000, i remember that gun as an assualt class unlock for the special forces expansion on BF2. AND IT ROCKED.

Btw Che, i hope they take a very Turn 10 approach to DLC, by giving a generous ammount of content for a small price. Like 5 guns for 400 points or something.

And also i can wholly understand why they have done this because some people (not me included) may not play battlefield for an extensive ammount of time. In this case they might not get the oppurtunity to try out some of the guns. So for this, i applaud DICE.

Does anyone know what it means by Gold edition?

-1 sale, totally unacceptable to do this in a multiplayer game. As usual EA spouting off how they have changed is just a load of crap. I hope (if this is true) that this game bombs hard and destroys the franchise. I refused to buy battlefield 2142 due to the advertising.

Really this is too bad because I was looking forward to this game. Gotta draw a line somewhere though. Activision and EA are gonna destroy gaming with their greed and hate for gamers.

Yeah, what he said.

I'm sure the guns you get when you buy the game itself are just as good as the guns you have to purchase, unless its like a .50cal 1 shot kill sniper rifle, than i wont bother

Yeah, what he said.

I know plenty of people who want the game but wont be able to play it for a long amount of time because of commitments like family and work. When i mentioned this, they seemed like they wouldnt mind paying for some additional weapons.

What i didnt know however is that the ONLY way to get the weapons would be to pay for them. This seems really bad and i hope they fix this from feedback. If i buy the game, i should be able to unlock the weapons by investing time into it.

Reading my previous comment i understand why it cam across as a bit of a Fuck-up.

I'm not going to buy this game if this is how the multiplayer will be run, shameful.

Same.

Was really looking forward to this game, but after paying full price then addition costs for guns, get fucked.

Back to Battlefield 2 on PC.

The specs for the Marketplace/Gold edition guns aren't even any better than the normals or unlockables. In most cases they're actually worse than the guns you can unlock. So unless you're -ARNiE-, and just want the gun because you want that gun, it's a complete waste.

Anyways, Beta tommorow! :D
