Okay, so, can someone better explain the $199 360 Arcade/Controller/20GB deal?

I understand the value and everything, and it sounds great, but what's the deal with the hard drive? Is it external? I'm not usually good with dealing with hardware, but I'm willing to for a deal this good. Also, what's the size of the hard drive that comes with the 360 Arcade as is?

The arcade X360 does not come with a hard drive and I believe retails regularly for $199. So getting the system, hard drive, and extra pad is a steal at that price

I really don't need a 360, but these deals are too good. I'm asking my mom to go for it only if she could pull off one of the Black Friday deals. If not, fuck it.

I'm curious about Amazon's Black Friday deals, but I do like the amazon deal for ps3 going on right now.

Buy a 80gb ps3 and one game and get 50 dollars instantly off. Buy a 80gb ps3 + a game + two movies they have listed and get 100 dollars off. Then you get Sony's card and get one hundred and fifty dollars in credit.

So, I'm thinking of getting the 80gb Ps3, little big planet, blade runner, and nightmare before christmas. That totals to 410.00 after the instant rebates, and then $150.00 off using the Sony Card. Plus free shipping on amazon is always nice. I'll never touch the credit card again after paying it off. :lol

Oh. I just noticed the discounts are amazon coupon codes sent to playstation underground users.

Are you sure it's an extra controller and not just the standard wireless that comes with it? I've seen plenty of stores point out Wii Sports being included in their Wii bundles (even though it comes standard with the system anyways).

The Arcade only has a 256MB memory card regularly, which is why it is so cheap.

If you buy an Arcade, MS will let you buy a refurb 20GB hard drive from them for $30.

The controller is worth $40 (many retailers still charge $50 for them however).

So basically you're getting $70 worth of extras, not a bad deal. If it turns out to not be a Jasper you can always return it too, just make sure to keep your receipt.

CAG is blocked on the computer I am using (all video game sites are blocked on the computers at my college, along with social networking sites and porn sites).

Wow, a lot of great 360 deals for Black Friday.

November could be a gigantic month for MS. Obviously not as big as the Wii, but it'll be bigger than last November's 360 numbers (770k) at least.

It's an all day deal, so I'd imagine they'll have enough stock to last a little while. Still wouldn't hurt to wait in line before they open.

In the days leading up to the sale keep an eye out on CAG and the other deal sites.

Last year I was able to get quite a few of the CC deals online. This normally applies to the non 'doorbuster' sales.

The problem is Id want it for music games + DLC...
Which doubles the price of the purchase for me.


Also, question...

If I got Xbox Arcade with the 20 free HDD, does that mean Xbox 1 support? There are some old games Id be interested in

Previously, I would've said to wait for the Jaspers, but we've been waiting so long for the Jaspers that now nobody has a clue when we'll get them. I'm tempted to say to just go ahead and bite on this deal since the Falcons have improved the reliability of the 360 a bit. It's obviously not 100% RROD-proof yet, but then again, the Jasper may not be either.

Another potential option could be to just get an in-store warranty w/ your 360 (at some place like Best Buy). Yes, it costs a bit extra money, but it's well worth it imo since you can replace any potentially broken 360 with a brand new one rather than getting a shitty refurb from MS.

I'm pretty it's the first party controller. I think they ran a similar deal last year for Black Friday, and the extra controller was a first party controller.

The falcon is no less reliable than a PS3 or Wii. For all you know the Japser could have different issues.

Me too! I don't even know why I bought it, I had plenty of games to play. BiA and FC2 = biggest waste of money for me this year. Ubisoft can eat a dick.

Before you guys go nuts over the 20GB deal, keep in mind it's 13GB, not 20. I found out the hard way, trying to install Gears. But if you don't care for installing games on your HDD, then it's a good deal... actually either way it is, because you could just sell it and buy a 120GB.

Yeah, it should work. All of MS's retail hard drives have the emulation software on them.

The game is actually pretty good for a WW2 1p game. Don't expect multi out of it. I paid 50 for it, and was satisfied.

As I said on CAG, a lot of great deals this year, in my opinion anyway. Better than last year iirc. I don't have a car or any one to take me so none of these are happening for me, however I may catch some of the online deals that go up around the same time.
