I agree that FFX was the best jrpg of the system. Almost didn't recognize you with the new avatar.
New... avatar? This is the avatar I've been running with for 5 years :O

OH FUCK ME

Looking forward to SCOURING Youtube for all the footage

This game is gonna become the best game of this generation. Mark my fucking words. I will play, eat and shit Bloodborne.

I loved dark souls but there isnt much we know beside that bad offscreen video of the guy climbing a ladder at 15fps..

Enough to be superior than most shit that's been released so far this generation.

How about a red ps4?

So deep.
Want.
Inside.
My soul.

I hope you're not being sarcastic because this is indeed the truth.

PS1 (1996) - FFVII (1997)
PS2 (2001) - FFX (2001)
PS3 (2006) - Demon's Souls (2008)
PS4 (2013) - Bloodborne (2015)

There's a good case to be made for this phenomenon, but this definitely isn't it.

Let's not forget that from is also the Kings field company. Depending on how far they stray from the Souls formula with Bloodborne, we might have a dud on our hands.

What we've seen so far felt very much souls-like to me, so personally, I'm not really worried.
No way, Demon's Souls is like a beta compared to Dark Souls.
I wanted to refute this, but it's a surprisingly fitting analogy. Though Dark Souls did much more than just iterate on Demon's, DeS obviously deserves a lot of credit for laying the groundwork they built their masterpiece on.

Yes demon souls is better than Dark Souls 2.

Err… I was there since day one for Demons and while great, I don't miss many of it's small annoyances that were addressed in later entries. Also Dark Souls series on PC being 60 fps I can't go back… hopefully that doesn't ruin my Bloodborne experience. My god, the dlc is almost here!

Does anyone else think the protagonist kind of looks like a cross between Van Helsing (from the shitty movies) and Chakan: The Forever Man?
Anyway, I purchased my PS3 in 2009 for Demon's Souls (as well as Uncharted 2, but that doesn't count), and it was totally worth it for me. I still haven't purchased either of the two new systems, and had been considering a PS4 until Deep Down was revealed to be what it is. Look like I'll finally be taking the dive again early next year.

Haha yeah. Completely forgot about that movie. The setting of this game is also giving me some Nightmare Creatures vibes too.

I bet Sony really wants this game out as soon as possible in order to finally convince the hardcore crowd to "jump in" but the problem is that other than Bloodborne they don't have any other exclusive game to lure those people in.

Even myself,i am a big Souls fan since day 1 (imported Demon's Souls when it first came out) but i feel a bit hesitant to throw away 400€ just to play one game (well there's also FFXIV but that is a subscription based MMO) especially since the WiiU seems to be set to have more interesting exclusive games coming out in later 2014 and 2015 than PS4.

What do you mean by 'dud'? Kings Field is a fantastic series. I actually vastly prefer Kings Field IV to the Souls games.

Yeah, I have no idea what Haunted is talking about. Not that I necessarily prefer the King's Field, but the Souls series wouldn't even exist without it. In fact, that ridiculous King's Field vibe is what got me interested and then thoroughly engrossed with Demon's in the first place. From might not be an AAA developer or even a developer where everything is a smash hit, but many of their games have pretty good cult followings. The King's Field series is one of them and for good reason.

And then the B team came along and shit all over what had come before. Even though I enjoyed Dark Souls 2, the experience was nowhere near as good as the first two games. I don't even have any doubts that I would enjoy Bloodborne though. Unless of course that team just "lucked out" twice.

I'm not sure what you are implying? The King's field games were/are awesome.

not really understanding who the 'hardcore crowd' you refer to are, exactly. i can say that bloodborne's the game that'll result in me finally getting a ps4, at which point i'll also have the order, second son, & whatever big 3rd party holiday releases i passed on to choose from as well. spring 2015 & bloodborne looks just about perfect to me :) ...

yeah nothing other than Bloodborne. And Driveclub. And LBP3. And The Order 1886. And Second Light. And Uncharted 4 later in the year. And Guilty Gear Xrd.

I don't consider any of these games (with the exception of GG perhaps?) anywhere as near as "hardcore" as Bloodborne will be.And by "hardcore" i mean games that are skill based (like DMC,NG,Bayonetta etc) and bring in a particular type of gamer who can't get as much satisfaction from mainstream cinematic shooters or forgiving 2D platformers like LBP.

Knowing that it's going hands on in two weeks yet they still have 7-8 months (most likely) for polish / tweaks makes my pants tight

Was just thinking about some ideas that could potentially revitalize the game. One thing I think would be cool for this game is if they ripped-off the Soul Sacrifice premise of offering body parts for powers. Sacrificing your own body parts when you're in a tight spot could make for quite interesting gameplay-scenarios. It would also be pretty cool to rip other player's spines, hearts, eyes and heads in multiplayer. It wouldn't hurt if they took some inspiration from Nether Realm when it comes to the animations.

Unfortunately I think we would have heard about this by now if it was a central part of the game, but perhaps they could make a covenant dedicated to it? It would at least make for a very unique and fun covenant.

Either way, here's a quick "concept-art" picture I made:

You really don't consider guilty gear to fit exactly that (oddly narrow) definition?

Same here. Think its one of the reasons I'm so excited. Obviously the DeS/DS is a big factor but it looks so much like Nightmare Creatures.

One week away until we finally start getting some more hands-on impressions of BB from Gamescom. Can't wait. If this game is on track for an end of March 2015 release then hopefully they start releasing more gameplay vids, etc.. both next week as well as at TGS.
