What's the difference?
Madvillain said:the 1 series convertible does indeed look girly. the 1.35 is a beast though. I'd take that over a Z4 any day of the week. As far as the track goes, the 1.35 actually out performs the 3.35i (go figure).
The 1 Series is essentially the new 2002, and I gotta say, they did a hell of a job with it.
Madvillain said:Guys, I'm single. Wife and kids aren't my concern.
The reason I'm going with the sedan over the coupe, is because I'm buying, not leasing, so I want to think down the line as much as possible. I know having those 2 doors in back are gonna make all the difference when all is said and done.
Not to mention, that aside from the tail lights, I actually like the way the sedan looks more. Kind of. I can't put my finger on it, but the sedan kinda still gives that feel of luxury over sport.

BMW knows what they're doing with that pricing scheme.
I tell you, I went from a 1.35i, to a 3.35i, to an M3 in the span of 2 weeks. I know the M3 is where I'm staying though. The M3 is what I've always wanted since I was 14. Since it suddenly became within reach, I'm totally jumping on it. I'll only be 24 once.
Just watch this:

and google the episode of Top Gear where they pit it against a C63 AMG, and RS4.
You'll be done with.
I'm going with manual all the way.
because I want an M, and an M5 is like, twice the price of an M3.Flo_Evans said:If you want more luxury why not look at the 5 series? or 6 or .....7?![]()
nope. just working hard and getting rewarded for it.Macattk15 said:Did you win the lottery?

It's also lighter than the previous generation M3 from what I understand.
No it's not, but boy does it sound beautiful.Xirj said:Christ power isn't everything.
Bitter about what?B!TCH said:M3 is $60-70K. Stop being bitter. It's not a good look.
that's the planTopher said:Sedan. No brainer. It's still an M3, treat it like one.
space and convenience.Pizza Luigi said:Why can't you just buy the normal M3. Not the sedan but the coupe.
Zyzyxxz said:Even though I love it here, he would have to consider those super sunny days, and the only days it wont be above 85 F are gonna be cloudy days.
During the summer it will be useless since all the air round here is gonna be hot.

I will admit, I do loooove the coupe, but something about the sedan just seems more elegant to me.
Speaking of which, how about that Civic SI? I say that's totally the best value out there right now performance wise.sonarrat said:As long as we're on this subject, it really is amazing how much BMW is able to charge for a sedan that has about the same interior space as a Honda Civic.
You know, I can definitely see the logic behind that argument, but like i said, I can't quite put my finger on it. Something about that sedan just feels right to me.cilonen said:M3's should only be offered as coupe's.
M5 is the M sedan.
/pureist view.

I'm a sedan man myself (I used to own an STI), but when it comes to an M3, I have to agree with some others that the non-convertible coupe is really your best bet. You're single. What do you need 4 doors for (sorry if you've already answered this... coming into the thread with only a few minutes to spare)?Madvillain said:You know, I can definitely see the logic behind that argument, but like i said, I can't quite put my finger on it. There's only one right answer in this thread, and I see that answer everyday in the parking garage at work.

J-Rzez said:Neither. Coupe. Drop top is a PIG compared to the others, 400+lbs would be noticeable in the twists and unless they change ratio, acceleration as well. M3's to me, will always be coupes, M5's are the 4 door luxo-sport car.
But, if I had the cash, i'd pass on them. As much as I love BMW's and the sweet tones they make, GT-R is just flat out incredible. I saw my first one this past weekend at the dealer (was closed, so I could only drool from the window) but I felt my heart through my penis, and we'll leave it at that. Nothing comes close to that performance for that money. The only thing that does is a Z06, and the interior feels and looks shittier than my old power wheels car, and the seats are made from the finest rats they can skin. Though, they sound like raw sex with a "loud mouth" type exhaust like my friend has on his 03 Z06. But the GT-R with that awesome Ti-exhaust and proper aluminum/carbon intake sounds mind blowing.
Plus, the GT-R's interior looks to be very-very livable day to day as well. Plenty of room, "looks" to be quality stitching on the dash and stuff like the infiniti's, and a nice trunk.

sonarrat said:Well, I'm not really into performance cars these days but I sold Hondas circa 2004 and I loved the Si. I would have bought one, if it wasn't for the fact that insurance would have cost me $6000 a year (no exaggeration).

The 3M isn't a race car either. None of these cars are. Especially a sedan.Madvillain said:that isn't a race car. it's just a machine designed to go fast. it does a great job at it, but on the track, the M3 will take it out, no problem.
