I'm not sure how it is in the demo, but in the full game you can connect to the internet and get ~3-5 people every day.Is this StreetPass stuff for restoring the town required? Because the chances of me getting any are extremely remote...
Ah that sucks you can only "use" this demo 30 times
I hate shit like this, are sales really hurting because so many people are downloading demos and just playing them forever instead of buying the real game? wtf nintendo
30 uses for the demo
Especially in something like this where it's completely separate from the main game, or EO4 where it only lets you progress to a certain point anyway. :| Can you redownload a demo to refresh the number of plays?
Suguhaaaaaa~
Played for 17 minutes or so. It looks great.
I just hit a brick wall on the Job/Ability menu. Not sure what to do for each character. Any suggestions?
Wow i was just going to ask how to get spells and boom dat editThere's really not much you can do wrong, have at least one healer and then you can mix and match how you want.
Knight and black mage are both classes that dish out decent damage and are easy to use, the Ninja is very strong as well. The "examine" ability of the freelancer Job is good to find out elemental weaknesses of enemies.
Take note that having a high job level also gives you better stats so don't switch jobs just before a boss. other than that the demo isn't all that hard, just experiment.
edit: beaten. with the same class recomondations even
edit 2: you have to buy magic spells at the shop before you can use them in combat.

There´s your JOB, which is basically your main class.
JOB COMMAND is your sub-job.
SUPPORT ABILITIES are abilities you learn by using and leveling other jobs. However, you can only use abilities you unlocked with the specific character you want to use them on.
Ninja has the killer combination of Utusemi (evade one physical attack) + Transience (counter after evading an attack) as you level it up. You can just sit there and wait for an enemy to attack, do an auto-dodge and then counter with brutal precision.
Since the classes are capped at level 4 (going up to 12 in the full game), some of the crazy later combinations won´t be available in the demo, however. In the full game you can combine the white mage with support abilities that basically heals the full part with a low-level healing spell. It´s awesome.
Since the classes are pretty limited in the demo, there´s not much you can do wrong, honestly. I would go for Ninja / Knight / Black Mage / White (or Red) Mage.
Can each character function well as any class? Or is there uniqueness between the characters that result in some being better mages or warriors?
All can be anything, not bonuses.
Are Red Mages viable? Their usefulness tends to fluctuate depending on the game.
Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated! I'll try not to worry too much about it until the full version is released.
Yeah red mages are pretty good, i think only the highest level spells are blocked but you don't get those until much later in the game, which means for a good part of the game you have all black and white mage spells in a single job command. They also have some great support abilities, it's worth leveling the class for those alone.
Does that include like later on, say if I had been taking one character through Knight, Ninja, etc. they'd still be just as good as a Black mage later? (I understand that an issue with that would involve the passive skills you learn and such, but I'm talking in terms of stats and things that can't be grinded to adjust)
I, for instance, roll with bow-wielding ninjas (who usually prefer daggers) that can also use elemental attacks with their bows. It´s sweet.
is it me or the 3D is really crappy is eye hurting in this game ?
i am playing on my XL ans i can't see the right angel to view 3D correctly

Wouldn't that be a waste of dual wield? Bows are two handed.

At this point my bows are more powerful than any dual wield weapons I have - I also mostly chose Ninjas for their utusemi (and awesome costumes!) rather their dual wield power at this point.
Though I definitely might switch to dual weapons later down the road - that´s what I like about being so flexible!
So why can't the mainline FF be this good?! And they have like 5 times the budget most likely.
There's a day/night system? Is it immersive?

I just stood in the town with the camera panned all the way out at night for ten minutes. The day night cycle is pretty great. There's a day/night system? Is it immersive?

Yes they are. Combined with the Spellfencer it's awesome. For normal battles I give him a sword and add elemental magic to it to deal "fire, ice, electric" damage.
For "melee resistant enemies" I change his sword by a Staff and a Shield (YES, you can change your weapons IN COMBAT) and destroy everybody's ass with black magic.
Also it has some of the best passive skills of the game that can give you free bravery points and elemental resistance.
And...it fits perfect on ringabell!
Can you save in the demo and then revisit it? I'm assuming each time uses a use of the 30 given.
Yes the demo functions like a full game. You start a new game, create a save, select options, etc. You can carry certain things over to the full game too, including bonus rewards depending on how munch of the demo you complete. Apparently the demo quest contents are unique too, so it's not part of the actual game, but created to give a demo experience before the game is out.
