Team Walt. The guy was dying and did what he had to to provide for his family. As things got out of control he did what he had to to survive. He's not evil, he's any of us in that same fucked-up situation. That's the genius of the show, it shows what everyday people can be capable of when they get out of their depth.

After all that crap wouldnt you just take the hit and go to jail/die while managing to get your family as far away as possible? that's what i'd do, specially with terminal cancer. I wouldnt try to include myself in on the plans of doing a complete relocation through Saul's guy.

What was the explanation for Gus not getting in his car?

Same as why he checked Tio's room with the metal detector. He's just wary, one step ahead.

Walt said it himself, she was fucking poison to Jess.

Got him hooked on w/e shit she was taking (I forgot, was it crack or heroin?).
Her eyes fucking lite up when Jess told her how much Walt owed him.
She takes over and tries to blackmail Walt into giving them the money (which Jess is currently unable to handle correctly because he is addicted to the drugs she introduced to him).
The second Walt brings the money she goes after it like a fucking tiger. It was VERY CLEAR that she was planing on using Jess up for her own enjoyment and benefit.

By NOT stepping in and saving her he was allowing this poison to get out of Jess's life. Now look at Jess ... still being used but at least now he is clean and has a good thing going with a good family.
These two points here are my main reasons for being SO happy when she died.

Stick with the last one. Walking Dead is Walking Dreck. Haven't tried Boardwalk but I hear it's more like Boredwalk.
Boardwalk is a good show, but it seems to be consistently satisfied with being a B player in the A-team's uniform. I try to save the whole seasons to watch in large chunks, I'd feel like watching them episode by episode would just make it seem even less compelling.

I think you underestimate the human instinct for self-preservation.

maybe for people with ADD.

Van Alden and Richard Harrow alone could carry that series. GOT was a pretty meh show, now that was a boring one for most of the time. I love the books but I wish this got better showrunners.

how did jesse help?

he could have killed gus without poisoning broc
How did Jess help?

With out Jess telling Saul about Gus's relationship with the old man Walt wouldn't have known that there was an enemy of Gus's out there who Gus would NEVER even think knows Walt and that their relationship is so effed up that Gus personally feels the need to torment him in person.

even that sentence is contrived

You're saying you'd turn to meth cooking instead of get a high paying research job?

No wait, you're saying that's what we would ALL do.

holy shit
So you're saying the entire show is built on a faulty premise?

yeah.. the fact that she was getting way to close to knowing what was going on and was getting Jesse hooked again/distracted/thinking of walking away of the whole thing and expose Walt had nothing to do with his decision, he was doing it for Jesse's sake all along....

She was high on drugs in all these sequences.

She was also in recovery. Mind boggling to think someone like that is sinister much less deserving of being left to die.

Maybe Walt and Jesse should just lace their Meth with ricin and we could wipe out all those junkies, huh, Mark-Wahlberg-In-The-Other-Guys?

Not at all. It's built around a morally repugnant protagonist. I think Walter White's life is built on a faulty premise, that it's better be a criminal than accept charity.

Walking Dead is terrible. Not The Killing bad, but it's almost unwatchable.

AMC is so fucked in 2 years.

edit: well, at least TWD is popular, they've got that going for them.

I can see where Whitta is coming from, during my last checkup I had a small infection, so I started turning tricks for cash.

The Walking Dead is their Dexter.

They don't give a shit about the quality of their programs. they just want the ratings. TWD is getting more viewers than Breaking Bad or Mad Men.

Indeed, indeed.

I guess it just depends on what you could think one would be able to do in order to survive. I just see an easier solution that considering the circumstances would seem like the easy way out (not talking about downright killing yourself, but rather accept what's coming to you and let the people you involved unwillingly walk awy).

I dont disagree that Walt wants to live, with all his gut, im just saying that the "he's doing everything he can to save his family" statement is wrong. He could be doing more. He cares about himself first. That, overall is what makes him a bad guy. Is it a statement on how a regular dude can turn (break) bad under this extreme of a situation? for sure, but it doesnt make it any less bad!

He's a selfish asshole, if anyone of us would become the same is an entirely different thing.

I don't care if that bitch was high. The contrast between that night and earlier when she was outside the house with Jesse wasn't much different at all.

Jesse: He's my partner..

Jane: I'm your partner.

Fuck you bitch, only partners you'll be having now is maggots and worms.

Cool misogyny, bro. She totally deserved to choke on her own vomit and die.

This is true if you're 12 years old or if you have the attention span and comprehension level of a 12 year old.

Let me clarify, I'm not for one second suggesting Walt is a good guy. I'm saying I understand why we are able to root for him despite all the horrible things he's done. That's the genius of this show.

Yeah. TWD has 5 viewers for every 1 MM or BB viewer. :/

oh yeah, agreed. He's definetly written as likeable and the character youre supposed to cheer for, if only because his downfall is the whole basis of the show, and you just want to keep watching that building crumble to the ground.

I think you can enjoy the show and not root for him. In fact, I had a blast watching him get flouted at every turn this season, exposed for the buffoon he really is.

He did win, though, but I wasn't like, "WOO!" satisfied.

I don't know how you can root for the guy when he manipulated the only people left in his corner and poisoned a child.

Breaking Bad = Villain Porn

I will love Walt until he finally gets the death he deserves so so much.

Or until every character on the show is dead except for him, and he truly 'won'

So when you say an asshole guy deserves to die it's ok, but if you say an asshole woman deserves to die, it's misogyny?
Shut the fuck up. Seriously.

Off-topic but based on what I have seen I think TWD is really going to step it up this season.
I hope that Darabont's absence won't be too noticeable. How many episodes from this coming season was he a part of?

It's hard to imagine a happy ending for Walt, I think he has to die. Jesse will make it. That's my prediction.

The only thing that will really piss me off is if they kill Hank, I fucking love that dude. I think of him like a friend, or at least a friend I'd like to have.

Inevitably we're going to see the result of Gus' past coming to bite Walt.

what do you mean by that?

I dont see any other threat being present besides getting caught. Sure there's "henchmen" laying around, but like they give a fuck once that the dude who pays them is gone.

I kind of don't want meth to be a big factor in the last season. They really can't go any higher than they already have. It'd be sad to see Jesse and Walt cooking small time again.

Of course, Walt is basically broke - but he did give his family a way to survive from the car wash revenue

Wait who did I say deserved to die? And he called her a bitch, by the way. Suddenly that's not misogynistic?

It would be beyond cruel for no reason, lol. Dude already survived through hell!

I feel that the show will have a similar sort of ending. Some kind of "bringing home the message" moment.

Through all the years, there was this strange "pulling for Vic" feeling. But once the Next-to-Last episode aired, you truly and finally realized what kind of person he was.

Bullshit. The Walking Dead is one of the best shows on TV. I haven't even looked at the comic book, though.
