I wonder if they're smart enough to give you more than 5 custom classes at the beginning so you can have an easier time trying out so many perks and weapon combinations.

Thank goodness Scavenger unlocks relatively early. I'm addicted to it. Don't know why, since I usually don't live long enough to take advantage of it.

Still, this perk system seems neat, but gameplay will be the true test of its balance.

The amplify perk is not countered by dead silence. This means everyone will be camping the back of the map with marksman/assault rifles and there's nothing you can do about it because amplify lets them hear your footsteps from a mile away. You will never sneak up on them. Shotgun/SMG classes are irrelevant because of this perk.

Ewww...

I don't know if it's clear yet, but you don't need to wait till a certain level to unlock something. If you have enough squad points, you can get whatever you want.

For example, I'm level 7. I wanted Dead Silence so I could either wait till level 26 or use 6 squad points to unlock it early. I had the required SP so I bought it.

Footsteps are so loud, lol. That's why i bought Dead Silence..to see how much of a difference it makes.

This right here is what has destroyed modern AAA FPS game design for me. Until modern multiplayer FPS stop putting this stuff in, I highly doubt I can enjoy it.

It's like I want to play BF4 or CoD:Ghosts, but I doubt I'll enjoy because of issues like this...

*sigh*

One day maybe we'll get a pure FPS multiplayer shooter again :(

Nope I think its 3 max now per character,
you can unlock more characters with the regular points.
You can get up to 10 characters with 3 classes each.

Has it been confirmed that you can unlock 1 perk or 1 weapon with a prestige token or something of that nature?

And no, I'm not watching a goddamn tmartn video for information either.

I would love to see a new COD that doesn't have perks. Remember COD2? Yeah. Good times.

I believe there are hardcore and barebones variants in Ghosts. Would be surprised if there weren't. Personally I prefer barebones. The lack of radar and small health in hardcore lends itself to a prominent supply of campers and motion detectors, and I rarely complain about campers. But it's BAD in hardcore.

Unfortunately Infinity Ward never seems to keep the improvements Treyarch makes to the series with their games.

The Pick-10 system was absolute perfection, I hope that Treyarch's next game includes it.

Is it 6 from the start or 3 and unlock more?

Also if you don't mind me asking how does the character camo work?
is it per map and faction or are there options.

3 from the start per soldier and then you purchase the next 3 with squad points. I think the 6th class costs 25 squad points and the first iirc was only 5 squad points.

And for customization, you press create a soldier and then X to customize appearance. It gives you the option to edit your head, all your different pieces of gear, your patch (emblem), and background. You pretty much just get one camo per soldier but you can edit it whenever you want. And almost everything is locked at the start until you start completing challenges to unlock different things for your appearance.

They have a similar thing but it's more like Pick 12. Primary Gun, Secondary Gun, Tactical, and Lethal are all 1 point and each perk has a point value assigned to it. You can only add up to 12 points. Additionally, if you use the specialist strike package, you can get 8 more points worth of perks when you get specialist bonus, on top of 6 more points of perks if you choose the higher end ones to lead up to your specialist bonus.

I can imagine deadeye being really annoying...

It's a max level unlock and there is no "unlock gear" option when you prestige anymore. On top of that it's 5 points of your pick 12 gone on that perk and for many guns the extra damage won't even affect the bullets needed to kill.

Just think about how almost nobody uses ghost in Black Ops 2 because it's a max level unlock and you need to use an unlock token on it. Here, it's the same thing except there is no unlock token, so I expect it to be even rarer.

Damn. Although I guess in some ways its for the best.

What about attachments and the like? I enjoyed how Treyarch did away with some perks by giving their ability to attachments (Stock = move faster when ADS).

What about attachments and the like? I enjoyed how Treyarch did away with some perks by giving their ability to attachments (Stock = move faster when ADS).

Attachments are just sights (there are around 5 different sights).
The next type of attachment is the barrel where there is silencer, the equivalent to "Range" proficiency from MW3, and under barrel shotgun (and maybe grenade launcher too).
The last attachements are mods to the weapon, such as extended mags. I can't remember others because I'm not currently looking at the game.

And each attachment has a squad point value to it. The squad point system is similar to the COD Point system, but you don't break the economy after level 10 and perks still follow the unlock system.

Iw said there were unlocks from playing past COD. 4 out of 6 were revealed but what's the other two?

The unlocks are all just cosmetics. 3 awards from MW3 and 3 from Black Ops 2. The awards are "Play the game" "Prestige once in the game" and "Reach Max Prestige in the game" And you just get player backgrounds related to the prestige symbols in the previous game and the reward for just playing the games is the game logo.

Solid Snake

This build inserts the player with just a simple pistol. Remember, just like in the MGS games weapons and equipment are OSP (on-site-procuration) so you can pick up any weapons.

No Primary - 0
Silenced Pistol - 1
No Lethal - 0
No Tactical - 0
SubTotal: 1

Takedown - 1
Blind Eye - 2
Dead Silence - 2
Incog - 3
Off The Grid - 3
SubTotal: 11

Total: 12

Ocelot
32494_407534824207_67111_a.jpg

This build focuses on gunslinging with the greatest handgun ever made: the revolver. You may not pick up any other weapon on the field.

No Primary - 0
Revolver Handgun, akimbo if possible. Certainly Speed Loader if offered. - 1
Semtex - 1 (That's right, noone has to die needlessly.) C4 would also fit since he used that in the original to trap Baker.
No Tactical - 0
SubTotal:2

Scavenger - 2
Quickdraw - 3
Deadeye - 5 (This is imperative for making this build work.)
SubTotal:10

Total: 12

Wouldn't Ocelot use Sleight of Hand? Well, no. He loves the excitement of reloading during a battle. Sleight of hand removes too much of that tension to fit the character.

Grey Fox

Freakin' knife only ninja. 'Nuff said.

No Primary - 0
No Secondary - 0
No Lethal - 0
No Tactical - 0
SubTotal:0

Agility - 2
Marathon - 2
Takedown - 1 (necessary)
Dead Silence - 2
Resilience - 1 (he's a freakin ninja)
Painkiller - 2 (Snake...m-my medicine)
Ping - 2 (makes this build a bit more viable)
SubTotal:12

Total:12

Quiet
metal-gear-solid-v-the-phantom-pain-xbox-one-1370990427-010-100x100.jpg

Sniper build that actually focuses on being away from the battlefield instead of 420 quickscoping. A couple perks benefit towards actually being "quiet".

Sniper Rifle Primary. With attachment or two. - 1
Standard handgun with attachment or two. - 1
Claymore to cover your ass - 1
No Tactical - 0
SubTotal:3

Blind Eye - 2
Incog - 3
Extra Lethal - 2 >:)
Hardline - 2

You're kidding right? If anything, this offers even more customization options than Black Ops 2.

You can mix and match perks from any category, which wasn't possible before.

This.

While Black Ops 2's system was interesting, having perks still in different categories was stupid given what Treyarch was (supposedly) trying to achieve; that is, more customization.

COD Ghosts is bringing a lot to the table, and it's offering a lot more stuff to mess around and have fun with. Looking back, I always end up putting all of Treyarch's games aside shortly after release, but IW games are always a blast to play even when they are at their lowest (ie: MW3).

Also, let's not forget the mess that was MW3's development. That game was made during the whole IW-Activision fiasco; they had to bring in help from other teams in order to get something made, because people were leaving the team left and right throughout actual development. Those are no conditions under which to make a great game, and even so, despite of all the copy&paste that is present in MW3, it's still quite a fun and balanced game.

Ghosts is the first time that the new IW team can show us what they are actually capable of. I have faith in them, and expect Ghosts to be a great addition to the series. At least I sure hope they put out a decent product, because despite of being a huge COD fan I already made the decision not to buy another Treyarch product ever again. BO2's horrid connection and hit-detection problems took care of that.

CoD is fun. Blame Epic for screwing up Unreal Tournament 3 and id for completely forgetting who they are.

Besides, things come in waves so the old school style will come back at some point.

Oh, and PC has lots of stuff, but I don't know if you play on PC.

Pro tip for the GAF Community: Use the Remington R5 Assault Rifle. Amazing gun.

Disclaimer: I've only used three guns so far and just stopped trying new ones after I found this gun because it is that good.

Also, if anybody cares, secondary weapons are just handguns and launchers.

Pick 10 system was something I hoped they brought back. Love this system and I hope it's in every future COD.

I took a few pictures of the player backgrounds that you get from past games:

In terms of player patches, there are
556
of them. You'll be busy for a long time if you want all of them ;) You get them from completing challenges, playing Extinction and Clan Wars.

Decided to be that guy and get the riot shield:

I've always enjoyed playing with the shield even though it's never any good, lol. That + C4's = a good time.

The riot shield has 3 attachments:
Scrambler: Scramble enemy radar within range
Titanium Frame: Lightweight alloy frame allows for faster melee
Radar: Portable radar from the shield position

What sucks is you can't manually plant your shield.

I'm a Hardcore playlist person so I'll be spending most of my time in Hardcore Kill Confirmed...especially if I want to rank up the shield...and yes, the shield has camo as well.

Dammit - the COD bug to play some MP got to me. Anybody know if the Amazon offers next gen upgrade program?

My only problem with the new create a class system is that they switched alot of the weapon based stuff back to perks from attachments in BO2.
Will be annoying with all the new perks to waste a slot on something like steady aim(though at least BO2 got me out of the habit of using SA on every class)

Wow, fuck Deadeye. I really dislike damage modifiers. Hopefully the cost keeps it in check.

Also, you can't upgrade your perks?

Have you got the background for prestige master?

Have you got the background for prestige master?

I was a prestige master in BO2 but because I reset my stats, the background isn't unlocked for me, lol. If I knew that, I would have never reset.

So beware, even if you made it to prestige master and you reset your stats, the game will think you never reached it and it won't be unlocked.

Kinda stupid but whatever.
