Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Review Thread

Nope. Skipping this one as well.

When I can get MWR separately, give me a call.

This is me as well.

There is no way i'm paying 60 bucks on yet another copy/paste COD multiplayer just to get a remaster of a great but very old game.

I can wait for it to be sold separately, if not, then it's ok, i've played so many more hours of COD 4 in my life than i should.

Strange how divisive this is. Some say the campaign is great while others say it's uninspired and boring. lol

I'll trust ACG and go for the campaign and zombies + MWR.

Whole shooting mechanics feels so poor especially post BF1, even water pistols shoot more convincing.

does Titanfall still use bots in public matches? then no.

You can put your blinders on and find a reason why another game will not work for you but you cant deny that COD is continuing to slip. I am picking up the game today but I cant see myself putting much time into IW MP at all. I have COD4:R to play but I am not sure how long that will last with how awesome TF2 is right now.

While I am enjoying the campaign, I do think Titanfall 2's campaign (and multiplayer) demonstrates how the gunplay feedback in CoD has gotten old. TF2 feels like an evolution of that 'CoD feeling' with firing, hit reactions, and sense of impact from munitions. After that and a few other recent shooters, the 100% standard CoD gameplay now feels out of date.

That said, the presentation and mission variety in Infinite Warfare do show a path forward for the series. IW really got that right. But as with the multiplayer, I wonder if the biggest problem CoD has now, is fear of deviating from the way it plays and feels.

The hero in this is campaign is most OP Mary Sue I seen for a CoD game. He a ace pilot, super solider , super commander and perfect in every way he never wrong and everyone loves him.

It's funny that you guys are saying the campaign looks alright. IGNs review in progress has a scathing account of how bad it is.

To be fair- the fact that in that same review in progress they are praising BO3's campaign means their opinion is becoming meaningless.

First off, there are modes without the AI.

Second, what the hell are people's issues with the grunts anyways? They just serve as cannon fodder to help decrease your build time and provide visual cover. They aren't even on the same threat level as another pilot. Even for point values in Attrition, you have to kill 5 of them to get the same amount of points as a pilot kill.

So Commander Shepard? :P

No flaws wish fulfillment has been big in the non-Treyarch games since MW2

Admittedly. I am now starting another playthrough lol. But I understand folks dislike of the story. There hasn't been a game made where folks don't have different ideas on whats good and bad.

It is more than alright. It's a HUGE leap up from BLOPS 3 and on par with Advanced Warfare.

The disaster that was Ghosts and the ho-hum nature of MW3's campaign have been excised for me. IW is back on form and trying lots of interesting new sh*t. Honestly, it's reminding me of BLOPS 2 in terms of pacing and player choice. Sure, it doesn't affect the story as much but it's trying something new.

I'm not a huge CoD fan anymore but I'm glad I jumped back in. IW did good guys. If it hadn't come out a week after TF2, it would be getting a lot more praise.

Is TF2 a better game? Maybe. But I'm enjoying both tremendously (and IW looks far better technically on PC).

My Shepard was a asshole and hated by a few people.

Usually they have more then one character so you have pilot or tank driver having it all rolled into one is more noticeable how daft he is. He not Shepard Space Jesus level ....yet

Let this franchise die already. CoD feels so stale and dated after playing Titanfall 2.

MW1/MW2/BlackOps1 were the last CoD games I truly enjoyed.

After those games, I feel like every new CoD is just the same game with a new coat of paint that fades fairly quickly.

Wow, such an original comment, I have totally not seen this comment in every COD thread.

Another huge issue for Infinite Warfare is that in every match I’ve played thus far it seems to use peer-to-peer (p2p) hosted games, where last year’s Black Ops 3 usually landed me on a dedicated server.

I still don't know how I feel about the multiplayer after playing a few matches last night, but I'm definitely super excited about going through the campaign. Sounds like a lot of changes for the better have been made.

Sounds like the campaign is good, which is what I was most interested in as I've gotten really bored of COD multiplayer. Once this hits $30 I'm in.

Not really shocked by the reviews. Going by early impressions the Campaign was looking quite good and the beta (I never played it only watched) looked absolutely terrible. I really only play COD for the campaign nowadays since Titanfall has been my go to shooter both 1 and 2 for a while now.

Big price reductions for the game on the Windows Store. £63.99 for the Digital Deluxe edition (£79.99 on Steam). Almost tempted after reading the reviews.

So I think I'll get it. Jesus fucking christ!! 149GB space required. What the hell!

You read the thing on the Windows version right? you can't play with Steam owners. I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't find a single online game going on that.

From what I've seen of it, it looks pretty cool tbh and other reviewers have enjoyed the campaign a lot more than IGN too, so I wouldn't take one reviewers word, just because they didn't like it.

Well by the looks of it at least the campaign is more "complete" in this than Deus EX, ie you wouldn't get that feeling that ..."is that it"?

I'll get this probably during christmas, cheap copy from ebay will do nicely..this and titanfall 2..

Don't buy them then...they still sell millions each release. When it stops selling I'm sure they stop making them or change up the formula.

Lowest reviews of the series outside of Ghosts. That can't be good.

Edit: Didn't realize BO3 scored so low as well damn. Both sitting at 81, so tied for second lowest I guess.

Wonder if they'll still be boasting when IW sells orders of magnitude more than TF2. Leave the chest thumping for the fanboys, dudes.

I didn't see that as boasting, I saw that as trying to get Titanfall's name out there and that it is a legit competitor to the same-old, same-old of CoD except it's refreshing and has free DLC + (as of right now) no microtransactions. CoD: IW will almost assuredly sell more, but that's more of a shame than anything.

Yeah, I know about that. That's fine as I don't play online competitive gaming in general. I wonder if that's why the price is so low? Having a hard time selling the game on the Windows Store?
