Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Info Blowout Based on the Gunfight Reveal

Modern Warfare multiplayer info:
  • Peek and lean mechanic confirmed
  • Sniper glint will be back (previously seen in Infinite Warfare)
  • You can trade kills (meaning the both of you die at the same time)
  • Quickscoping is back but it’s a lot slower now (watch it in action here)
  • Riot shield confirmed to be in multiplayer (screenshot shown above was from yesterday’s gameplay reveal)
  • You won’t be able to choose weapons and loadouts in Gunfight, each round, all players will spawn with the same loadouts

Gunfight Mode confirmed details:

  • – Maps smaller than the face-off maps from MW3
  • – One life, no health regeneration/healing
  • -No create a class, they are randomly generated for every two rounds and everyone starts out with them.
  • – Rounds are extremely fast, 20 to 40 seconds
  • – Will feature a tournament mode with brackets. The reward for winning the tournament are TBA
  • – If nothing happens within the first 40 seconds of the map a flag will spawn in the map and whoever captures it wins. This is to avoid camping in the mode.
  • Maps from the stream – King, Pine, Stack – Speculates there may be day/night variation of a map since the maps during their testing specified “day”
  • – Set Weapons can be picked up on the map
Modern Warfare multiplayer info from Drif0r (watch it here):

  • 100 percent confirmed, no Specialists in multiplayer; all Operators are the same
  • You can mount every weapon (no bipods needed) on vertical or horizontal surfaces to reduce recoil; except pistols and launchers
  • Night Vision Goggles returning and can be toggled on and off at any time like in Call of Duty 4, and there are some maps that will need NVG for you to see
  • Almost all doors can be opened and closed in multiplayer
  • Most maps are designed for three-lanes (like with Treyarch’s CODs), but there are some with four lanes
  • Map sizes are 2-3x the size of Shipment from COD4 and tend to be rectangular in shape
  • Guns are all real-life guns (brand, etc.)
  • No killstreaks available in Gunfight mode
  • Players can make their own March Madness-type tournament bracket for Gunfight
  • Game was playable on PS4, Xbox One and PC at the Infinity Ward studio
  • Grenades are locked upon spawn to avoid players chucking them upon spawn in Gunfight mode
  • FOV sliders, and other graphic options are available on PC (no word yet on consoles)
  • Weapons were locked down in terms of customization, only because they were still working on it. Boat loads of attachments, a lot of real world weapons to pick from.
  • Time to kill closer to Call of Duty: Ghosts depending on the weapon used
  • Character health was reminiscent Of MW3, die quicker than BO4, Ghost and even WWII
Don’t forget, there’s a ton more info regarding multiplayer that will be revealed on August 1 and beyond.

I haven't played a COD since COD4: MW and I think this is gonna be the first time I buy a COD since that game.

Gunfight sounds like a MP that I could probably play. I'm sure I'll get annihilated but the lower number of players in a game and the lack of custom loadouts should make it more accessible for me I think.
 
This will never happen. People want to be rewarded and people care about doing well in a game.

Back in the days we survived way harsher shit than today’s “trash talking” all the people from way back to Halo 2 days will understand. I mean I’m not saying that what’s happening today is acceptable but it’s mostly coming from kids that doesn’t know you and you don’t know them so why would anyone get offended from strangers?

there is a "mute all, except party" option in every cod since ... I believe BO2.


Can we hold out hope this was only Gunfight?

I hope. I really want to buy this cod again, but if it's only 3 lane map layout shit maps AND only super small maps (3 times the size of fucking shipment, wtf?) then I'll skip this one for sure.

This is why the world is soft. Keep KD as a stat and do better. Wish they would return lobby leaderboards, but I'm sure someone will slit their wrist after seeing someone with a 1.18 K/D.

But I agree with the 3, 5 and 7 killstreak. Call of Duty got stupid once MW2 came out.

Call of Duty 3-lane maps have three uninterrupted hallways spanning from one team's spawn to the other, sometimes with no connections between them until you get to the end.

Counter-Strike maps have winding and criss-crossing hallways, with multiple entry points at various elevations.

This is my favorite Counter-Strike map of all time, CS_Office. Can you show me where the three lanes are?

You just showed an example of a map that almost every csgo player avoids because it has SHIT layout and therefor not even used in competitive mappool or esports in general. it isnt even a bomb defuse map which is the main gametype in CSGO.

I get it, you must be a casual player who doesnt understand the fundamentals of COMPETITIVE Counter Strike, but you dont have to, its ok.

On all of these maps theres always an "A" way , "Mid" way and "B" way, with multiple entry points to said bombsites, but that doesnt mean they dont have this typical 3 way layout because for competitive play its the best way to play 5v5

Office btw is your typical CoD spawnhell deathmatch map. Like I said, in Deathmatch it can be fun, but for hostage scenario Id say its quite bad.
