Yeah I plan on getting it but last gen controls means its less than a real RE game on Wii. Point Controls >>>>>>>> Dual Analog. Plus from the demo I really dislike having to always have some one with you, you have to worry about. I'm not a fan of escort missions. RE5 is basically RE0 the RE4 in Africa edition.

We RE2 scary?

What I loved about ReRemake was how frightful it was. RE4 was great, but nowhere as scary as the "tank control" gameplay of Resident Evil 1. I believe giving the develpors complete control of the camera angles was big factor.

Though, they'll never do it, as they now those types of games just don't sell as well as full 3d.

It doesn't make sense rerelease Code Veronica when RE3 and RE2 direct port hasn't been relaunched. Why could they pick CV over numbered REs? Even if it will be work it as REmake?

I think a lot of it is due to Dead Rising, and the fact that because of the response to Dead Rising Capcom went out of its way to basically call Wii owners whiney bitches

I suspect if this is RE1/RE0 Remake release or another on-rails shooter that people will be super bitter and with good reason.

I would not mind eventually to get a port of RE5 that just has Chris (I hate his partner) and was a bit slower like RE4. Changing RE5 would not be a downgrade imho

Capcom has seen that they can make boatloads of money on the Wii while totally ignoring "hardcore" fans and saving lots of money on development costs. Why on earth would they release anything other than UC2 or another remake/port-down at this point?

And sure they've been an amazing publisher the past few years on every platform except the Wii. So they deserve the benefit of the doubt in basically every case except for this.

I meant new in the sense that actual content had to be created, RE1/RE0 just had control modifications

A Wiimake of RE2,RE3,CV or a all new game would fit that (as would REUC2, but that gets back to the rails shooter outrage)

I'm hoping this game is RE4 style (even if it's a remake of an older game), I really dislike the classic RE gameplay style. Of course this announcement will most likely turn out to be Capcom bringing the Wii ports of RE0 and RE1 to the US.

No company that would re-release a Wii "port" of a game like RE0 with useless motion control deserves the benefit of a doubt.

Shit, Capcom would port and release RE: Gaiden with motion controls if they thought they could make a quick buck off of it.

Actually, a Code Veronica sequel seems about right. Claire still looks a Dreamcast and her Degeneration model made her look like a grey.

Also, Capcom hasn't referenced all of Queen's song catalogue yet and the time is right for Claire (or Jill/Ada/etc) to get a Heaven For Everyone tattoo on her inner thigh.

Given previous offerings I can't see this being a remake of any of the previous RE games, I imagine Capcom would see that as a step backwards, especially as it's on Wii and should be incorporating new control experiences.

I think odds are on for Chronicles 2, or maybe even an entirely new experience, who knows, but I can't see it being a remake, that would be extremely niche IMO.
