3 is the worst in the series. Honestly.

CV is better than 0. That leaves REmake, 2 and 4. Yeah, I'm fine with CV being worse than each of those. Still a damn fine game.

I don't understand why everyone seems to hate RE3. I think that's the last RE game (maybe the last console game) that I bought and played to death. I got every last drop of gameplay out of that thing unlocking weapons, epilogues and findings new ways to kill Nemesis and change the story (slightly), and I really enjoyed it. CV, not so much.

I agree with the rest, though.

RE5 Wii please.

"Bu.. bu.. but the graphics!"

Don't care. RE4 Wii controls were sweet as hell.

Loved it myself. Carlos is due for at least a game cameo imo but Capcom's seemed to have forgotten him.

Funny, for the last 10 years I've always wondered why everyone seems to love RE3. =P

Granted, it was not a terrible game per se. It brought some cool things to the table. The dodge move, ammo creation system, the quick 180...

I hated that it had only Easy and Hard. I was comfortable with neither. I didn't like the way the story actually pushed the series backwards by starting *prior* to RE2, and then in the end it didn't really achieve anything. I suppose the US govt nuking Racoon City is shocking, but... so what? The city was already literally dead. In the final analysis, it didn't achieve much. And finally, I thought Nemesis was just the dictionary definition of LAME. It was like they hired some 15 year old goth NIN Spawn/Todd McFarlane fanboy and said "Please design the main antagonist for our new game."

It was even worse when Code Veronica came out, because to me it was painfully clear that CV was the actual sequel to RE2, and RE3 was just a quick and dirty gaiden that they slapped together to keep the RE name alive while CV was in production... and I watched helplessly as everyone went on and on about how great RE3 was and how they didn't care about CV because it was "just a side story". Fleh.

Well, I consider REmake to have replaced RE1 in the canon. So you have REmake, 2, 3, CV, 0, and 4. And don't make me go off on RE3 haters. Because I will.

And there are like 900 spinoffs that are way worse, so I'm not counting those.

I will still probably rank them like this

RE4, RE2, REmake, CV, 3, 0. I don't dislike 3, I just think CV is better; I'd also say that my preference of REmake over CV isn't as big as RE4 to RE2 or RE2 to REmake.

Resident Evil Code Leonica: The Life and Times of Leon Scott Kennedy, Badass

no need for extra plot, just inject Leon into other games to make them better. RE1 begins with Leon killing the dogs, realizing Wesker's involvement, then it's over. None of the other games happen after this; the game is 3 minutes long. Will be hailed as the best 3 minutes of gaming ever.

Thats why you do a Resident Evil 2+3 remake with Wii from the ground up graphics and controls.

A port from the N-Gage to the Wii? No. A rebuild in the RE4 Wii engine? Maybe.

I know, I was joking, but that game will need more than a mere rebuild on the RE4 Wii engine, because it seems that suck very hard.

It's probably just RE: Umbrella Chronicles 2, following Claire through RE2, Code Veronica, and Degeneration. Capcom will outsource it to Cavia, which will outsource it to TOSE.

I'm surprised Capcom doesn't retry Outbreak. I mean not on the Wii so to speak, but Outbreak always seemed like a great idea and not too bad of a game, but just a little too early in the tech area. I just feel that it would have a good chance of doing far better now.

A Resident Evil 2 REmake with Outbreak elements invovled would be amazing!
Resident Evil 2 was amazing. I just don't want to play it again for the nth fucking time. Give me a new narrative, and try to make it good this time. RE's always been prime for the scares, and Silent Hills been scary for the story. Why not mix and match?

One idea is to go with the original idea for UC. It was meant to just like RE4, 3rd Person and the like. I mean there are a ton of side stories to work with in the series.

I want to play RE2 so much it's necessary, imagine how gorgeous a Remake2 could be. Even RE4 style O.O

That would be one of the biggest disappointments ever, if true.

I prefer the story in RE3 to that of CV. It revisited the locations from my (then) favorite game in the series, RE2. It revisited a character from the original that I had wondered about and explained what happened to her. I liked the "24 hours before, 24 hours after" thing and trying to piece together what what happening in the series plotline at what time in relation to RE3. I really liked the additions you mentioned, as well as the awesome Mercenaries minigame, that system of unlocking weapons for the main game and the extra incentives to keep replaying to see more content.

I wasn't crazy about the whole Nemesis idea until I played it. Nothing in the series has been as ridiculously persistent or close to invincible, which could have made for a really frustrating game if they hadn't handled it so well. I never had any complaint about his character design, really. (I do wonder why something that hard to kill hasn't shown up again in the series, though.)

CV, on the other hand... I guess everyone has a breaking point, and that was mine. The mythology was becoming really silly and convoluted at that point, even for RE. The story I thought was painfully melodramatic and shlocky, even for RE. It was missing anything interesting like the ammo-creation system and the Mercenaries mode wasn't as engaging. As solid a game as it is, it seemed to me to have little going for it outside of prettier graphics. It's the only mainline RE I don't own, though I've always planned to pick a copy up at some point.

If it was some kind of continuation of the events of Code Veronica leading right up to Degeneration...that wouldnt be bad.

I'm happy they're not going to port down Resident Evil 5 at the moment (although after Dead Rising LOL, I still expect a disaster port down from the PS360 version at some point). People who genuinely desire inferior port-me-downs deserve the low caliber crap that comes to their platform.

I don't know if Code Veronica REMAKE is the answer... although I'd certainly play it if it was completely overhauled (like, ground-up gameplay redesign and balancing) and had RE4 controls added over it. A Code Veronica sequel/sidestory would be cool.

I'd like a sidestory of some sort. I don't see why they can't have a Resident Evil 5: Sheva Story or some shit, and pump the production values up. It'd be totally rad.

Isn't Code: Veronica one of the better RE games?

No one wants a Code Veronica X Wii port with tacked on controls though.

If it was a continuation of Code Veronica with Chris and Claire leading up to the events of RE5, I wouldnt mind that either.

It doesn't make sense rerelease Code Veronica when RE3 and RE2 direct port hasn't been relaunched. Why could they pick CV over numbered REs? Even if it will be work it as REmake?

Its right below RE0 in retardedness and at the top of the heap in terms on ridiculous fetch quests!

So no

That's what I'm afraid of.

I would be cool with that, but it seems too good to be true.

That gun survivor game SUCKED, I think nobody has heard of the game lol.

Oh, I know it. I own it. I've played through it several times and seen everything in it. And yes, it sucked :lol

But I was an RE nut at that point and I enjoyed every second of it. It's a shame they chickened out on the very intriguing premise at the end of the game.

An RE 5 Wii version... would take soo much work to get on Wii... ALL the assets would need to be reworked ... I dunno about that.

An UC2 or Zero Wii would be much, much cheaper to do. But if this is the rumored RE2 remake or something like that... IDK.

It's not just about wanting RE5 on Wii though. It's about wanting RE5 with pointer controls.

The regular controls are just fine, the pointer ones were good, but not worth the hassle of dumbing down the game for see Chop till you Drop for details.

RE3 hate...que que que??

RE0 was the worst in the sereis by a wide wide margin - I thought CV was a very interesting take on the series, and gave the characters....*gasp* character.

No thanks, RE5 was rad enough.

DAMN IT.

People keep saying this. the reason Chop Till You Drop had problems was that it was ported to an engine not made for that kind of game - the Re4 Wii engine. Resident Evil is a different game than Dead Rising, no?

You don't think RE5 would work better on the RE4 engine than Dead Rising did? REALLY?

If it's not a regular, non-GameCube port Resident Evil game (i.e. not Umbrella Chronicles 2, not Gun Survivor, not Outbreak, not the Japanese RE0/1 ports), Capcom fails hard on Wii, again.
