CAPCOM R&D: A look into REEngine's past and future (ReX engine announced)

What cracks me up about engine talk is how people will say "oh this engine is so optimized" because the developers using that engine target say 60 fps on base consoles, so when people play it on their potato PCs and it easy to get that framerate, they think it's all the engine's doing. No. It all boils down to framerate targeting from the devs. Same shit happened with MGS V and Fox engine, and DOOM 2016/Eternal. Any and every engine could achieve the same results, but don't because all the devs using it are targeting 30 fps and overloading system components to squeeze the most visuals out of them. RE Engine is incredibly overrated and barebones, just like MT Framework that came before it.
