Capcom switching their games from "one time purchase" model to "continuous recurring revenue" model

In a way, I think this makes sense for Street Fighter. The other day I was wondering why every few years they try to re-invent the wheel and release a whole new game. Fighting games seem like they are lighter on content than most genres, but my god I can't imagine all the work that goes into designing and balancing an entire roster, on top of coming up with new mechanics and systems that are just as fun as previous titles, or ideally more fun, without becoming needlessly complex or unattractive to both newcomers and veterans.

I think it makes sense for them to continue to support SF as a service rather than try to develop a new entry every couple of years.
