Sacrificed sleep to see this shit...still sitting in my theater seat for the after credit scene on mobile so I'll post my thoughts on this later

Scene in question

At most 10 seconds in a scene where the big implications were made much clearer and were more important to the plot of the movie
I mean... He shows picture of the winter soldier right after the ME reports, and include Fury in there who we know was shot by him.

I don't think the implications and the reveal in CW are obvious to most people who don't geek out in these kind of threads, though, I would agree with that. But that's what makes it a great twist IMO.

Batman Begins>The First Avenger
The Dark Knight>The Winter Soldier
Civil War>The Dark Knight Rises

It's very close, but Batman has the slight edge IMO. If The First Avenger was as good as Batman Begins or better I would had agreed.
I didn't like the Nolan trilogy. So cap was an easy choice for me

The soundtrack really was Civil Bore. It's such a generic action movie score I don't remember any of it at all.

I'm going through it on youtube, and yeah, I don't remember any of that shit. There's a couple of not so terrible tracks but that's pretty much it.

Only moment I noticed the music was during the big battle (I think this was the moment: https://youtu.be/oyiS1nXlqJE?t=53)

I even saw it in UltraAVX instead of Imax, specifically for the sound. But since there were some here complaining that the dialogue was too quiet, I guess I still made the right choice for my first viewing, since I didn't manage to miss anything.

Gonna be listening to the whole thing tonight, loving the above track and "Cap's Promise" so far, but neither have grabbed me as much as "Taking a Stand" from WS did.

God, Taking a Stand was my ringtone for MONTHS.

Did anyone spot any memorable music in this film? Henry Jackman did a reasonably good job with The Winter Solider, and the title track was actually pretty neat, but Civil War's score was absolutely underwhelming. Hell, even the trailers had better music than what we got in the film. Now I'm concerned because Jackman also worked on Uncharted 4.

I thought Winter Soldier had a more than solid soundtrack. Plenty of stuff from that sticks in my mind and his Cap theme is one of the best in the MCU. For me, it has the highest number of good tracks with very little filler.

But yeah I'm listening to the Civil War one right now and everything seems really understated or maybe just taking a backseat completely to the visuals - just doing enough to service the movie maybe (haven't seen it yet).

There's like 3 tracks that kind of echo a few themes from Winter Soldier, but just flat out are not as good. It makes me wish he just straight up re-used some themes from WS.

Already the best Spider-Man. And they nailed Black Panther....Let Them Try

Marvel knows what they're doing. Give F4 and XMen back to them
Yup. They pulled it off.

best mid & post-credits to date

got chills at Wakanda, everyone cheered at the Spidey symbol & "Spider-Man will return"
Wakanda looks legit. That's very important to me. My crowd loved that too.

"Let them try"

Hail to the King.

Civil War, Stand off and Cap's promise seem like the standouts, but yeah, nothing comes even close to Taking a Stand. Shame.

Seeing the words "Spider-Man will return" got the most cheers at my showing. The kid is fucking good.
My favorite iteration so far i absolutely loved every minute he was on screen.

I have tickets to see the film 3 more times this weekend with various friends this is now my #1 favorite MCU movie right above Winter Soldier. I'm glad the Russo's are handling the Avengers now and if i was Disney/Marvel i would be locking them in do other future Marvel films as well.

Spider-Man stole the show. Ant-man was great, but Spidey being there added a really great dimension.

Can't wait for his movie.

Couldn't believe they got a younger Aunt May, Wowie xD
Is Marvel making the Spider-Man movie under Sony or just co-producing?

Anyone who has seen it in a real IMAX theatre know if the IMAX footage fills the whole screen as I heard they used an IMAX camera on this movie.

The 30 minutes of Spidey in Civil War were already better than the last 3 Sony Spider-Man movie. Fox, just give Xmen and Fantastic Four back to Marvel.

I noticed Spiderman's theme and BP's theme were pretty good but yeah it is the curse of music. It can sometimes blend into the background.

Yeah, I kept asking myself if this was really good as the first Avengers to me, and even missing Thor, Loki and Hulk, I think so.

Cleveland scene got some laughs at our show.

I would like some clarification of this too!

For having the powers for 6 months, Spidey sure knows how to fight... And can hold his own against trained assassins and military folks... Alright.

Can't believe they killed off yet another villain. Marvel sure is cocky haha.

For having the powers for 6 months, Spidey sure knows how to fight... And can hold his own against trained assassins and military folks... Alright.
They went out of their way to show how much raw strength Spidey has compared to everyone he was fighting.

That's his deal. His agility and spider strength make him an excellent natural fighter. It's not like he ever trains with a ninja master or anything.

Oh, gotta say, they nailed Black Panther. Absolutely loved the actor they chose to play it. Seeing the Panther there at the end, too fucking cool.

Can't wait for his movie!

That moment was all that went through my mind whenever Martin Freeman was on screen.

And did you see it yet Slayven? How bad was the jizz pool around you that the theater had to mop up before the credits were even done?

Oh, and the movie was fantastic. They managed to actually make me feel bad for Tony in this whole situation and not make him a ridiculous villain like he was in the comic.

Ant-Man and Spider-Man were the biggest audience pleasers at my showing. People mainly jazzed to have Spidey in this, but Ant-Man just for being awesome and geeking out around Cap.

If Holland and Rudd were not in this film, my rating would go down a hot double.

It really goes to show how humor that isn't bashing you over the head is welcome in these films. Perfect balance.

They know the value he can bring to the other MCU films (the ones they collect the checks on), so they are willing to let Sony get theirs in order to get him.

Everyone wins in the end. The place went nuts for Spidey, and it was great.

As for one of my favorite parts, it was Ant-Man psyching himself up before going Giant-Man.
"I'm awesome! I'm awesome! I'm awesome! I'm awesome!"

To be fair out of all the heroes only the newbies wound up out of commission when all was said and done. Spiderman, Antman and Scarlet. Rhodey being the outlier.

Black Panther was on the fucking ball. What a way to introduce a character within a movie.

What's everyone's rating on it? It's my favorite Marvel movie since the first Avengers.

Easily a 9.5/10 for me, going to see it at least two more times at the theaters.
