man I loved this movie and I loved Spider-Man in it
but where Peter Parker is concerned...
there has never been a single person in the history of man who was born and raised in Queens and ended up sounding like he does. Tom Holland needs to work on hiding that British accent of his just a tad bit better, lol

It was when Panther was fighting him out of the suit, his ring like reverberated or something against Bucky's arm. There was a quick closeup of the ring, then of Panther looking perplexed and that was that.

when I saw that I thought "oh I guess the movie version of his arm is made of vibranium and they're fuckin each other up with vibrations or something" but then they cut it so I guess its just alloys

And who is the first one he goes when raided the Raft? Fucking Sam. Steve recognices his BFF's
And Cap made damn sure that Bucky was well-protected while Wakandan scientists try to get the HYDRA programming out of his head.

Steve goes the extra mile for his bros.

heard more than one "who the fuck is Sam Wilson?.. OH" in my showing

my buddies kept calling Black Panther 'catman' and didn't know who the fuck I was talking about when I mentioned T'Challa after the movie. Then again I saw this movie at Movie Tavern and damn near every single GODDAMN PIECE OF SHIT around me including my friends were paying more attention to their brightly lit phones than the goddamn movie. (It's super satisfying when they lean over and ask me "whoa who's/what's that" and I tell them "why don't you ask whoever the fuck you're texting and let me watch this here movie I paid for")

What happened to turning your phones off during a movie, by the way? Maybe it's just me but I'm noticing that a lot more people just say fuck it and go ahead and do that shit anyway these days. Can't live without that shit for two hours? Well, are you a doctor? because if not you're a piece of shit

you know when Iron Fist took up the Daredevil mantel during Civil War..

part of me wishes they left this situation for later on and would somehow work a way for it to sprawl all marvel media in terms of repercusion, since we got Daredevli and we're getting Rand

Angents of Meh is already influenced directly by the events in the films

So will Steve and Bucky be in black panther then? Not sure I want that.

I think BP should solely belong to t'challa. We know about spiderman already. This guy is new tho and while civil war was a pretty decent intro for him there's still a lot to find out about the guy

count on it being BP only, or at least 90 percent of it

they're going back to that, most definetly

Strange will be Strange. And I think people are overestimating Tony's involvement in Homecoming

they gotta dial back now and start a new phase

I don't see that happening aside from maybe a post credits scene in preparation for Infinity War. It's the last movie before IW1, right?

I'd say it would have been borderline impossible to evacuate NYC in their allotted frame. I really don't see the army being able to contribute too much. Didn't it all happen pretty fast?

Absolutely, they didn't have time to do a full evacuation. But that doesn't mean they can't help keep people safe. Instead in Avengers 1, they're relying on amateur local police to do it. They also say it would only take an hour to organise the national guard to get there when the police guy tried calling them. If the avengers had called when they left to get to the scene, they could have had significant backup, both in terms of organising people to safer places and shooting the aliens, instead of the ridiculous notion that 5-6 people could ever keep them contained.

I'm pretty sure Cap leaves Wakanda after Bucky is put under.

off-topic but I was thinking yesterday about Infinity War

Russos only really sorta confirmed Star-Lord, right?

I bet GOTG2 leads to him being the only one there, in some way

I dont think anyone's ready to see fuckin Groot standing next to Black Panther

they're writing themselves into a bit of a corner with both this and the TV stuff, but it keeps it interesting

hope they dont solve it in such a cop-out transparent way

Why would he take a step down from his smoking bodyguard? That chick is fine. Dayum.

the dora milaje are more like daughters to BP

which made the whole him lookin super young thing weirder

but yeah im guessing that was Naika or Oyoke. he's like a dad figure and he takes that shit serious to the max

but of course some of them wanna bang him

he just wont

I have no idea how they're going to do Infinity war. They did a great job with Civil war juggling so many characters, but to even consider adding the guardians, dr strange, hulk and thor on top of everyone else, really strikes me as impossible. At least, if they want to give everyone serious roles. In fact, for Civil war, they already had most people be background dressing or only relevant for a short part of the movie in Civil War outside of Tony/Cap/Bucket/Black Panther.

I don't know how you would even begin to incorporate that many characters outside of a huge fight scene.

I STILL love the parallel between Tony and T'Challa in the film.

The moment you have Tony Stark trying to kill a guy in the finale for killing his parents, even though he wasn't in control of his actions... and up top you have Black Panther sparing the life of the man responsible for killing HIS father, and Zemo WAS responsible for that.

Black Panther earned ALL my respect in that scene. What an arc he went through, and the film needed that measure of hope when all the other heroes were crumbling around him.

Yep. I feel a lot of people gloss over that part.

Cap should be thankful that he has such supportive friends. Sam & Bucky really are true bros to Steve. Plus their interactions with one another is kind of like how your old best friend interacts with your new best friend. I loved it.
It sucks that they had so little screen time together, which is interesting cause they've been paired together for press junkets since Winter Soldier

One thing I've been bitching about to my friends is the lack of a Vault (super-human prison) in the MCU. So, now they have one. Let's count up: who might be in there?

1. The Abomination
2. Justin Hammer
3. Batroc (opening scene villain from Winter Soldier)

...that's all I've got, and 2 of them are just regular humans who may not warrant a special cell. I haven't seen any of the TV shows, though. Anyone else?

i think that's what separated T'Challa from everyone else in the end

all the avengers were so caught up in their little squabble, it made them lose sight of who was really pulling the strings

and while BP was seemingly caught up in that for a while, he eventually wisened up and broke free to see the bigger picture

What's fantastic is that doing so made him absolutely worthy of being King of Wakanda, learning what the greater good is

Posting here because this thread seems fairly active: what's the verdict on seeing this in 2D v 3D?
As someone who's seen it in both (2D for the preview screening, IMAX 3D for opening night), go see it on 2D if you can only choose one. To my knowledge, the only IMAX scene was the airport fight, which was a sight to behold.

When Cap asks Bucky if he remembers their past and he says something about the carnival and Buckys date and can't remember her name. Cap then says Dottie or Dot
Ah, then I suppose there is a reference to the TV side of things.

I don't remember him saying anything about a redhead. I've only seen it once tho.

Maybe you're thinking about when stank says he imagines his new AI as a redhead?
It was Cap & Bucky talking about a carnival they went to back in the 40's.

I had a cool realization with the eyes spider-man has. The "helps him focus" when he uses his powers bit basically means there is no reason for him to randomly tear off his mask as seems to happen in the past Spidey films.

I'd love to see a better look at his homemade outfits though..

The "take my helmet/mask off for no reason" thing is a pet peeve of mine, and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere. Even this movie had Spidey's mask partly off, for no reason, in his last scene. Black Panther takes his off in his last scene, too. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of rule, at this point: "actor's face must be shown X percent of time while in costume, or audience will forget who it is".

Nothing will ever be worse than Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo, Ivan Vanko, taking a full frontal helmetless repulsor blast with his helmet off, and it doing more damage to his suit than his face.

I mean, Spidey didn't totally lose his mask when he fell. It was askew and all, but he still slipped it back on for all of two seconds before collapsing. It was fine for the very end of that sequence, nowhere near the way Tobey's mask just kept coming apart and couldn't wait to show the actor underneath.

For T'Challa, it works because he's greeting Zemo on equal ground, as one man who lost family to another. That's how I chose to read it anyways. Plus, he looks just as cool without the mask on as with it, in that suit.

Yeah, Vanko was dumb, but to be fair, his mask was dumb too. >_>

rule of cool has a limit

these are people, marvel's always been about the people behind those mask

"awww he doesnt look as cool anymore :(" takes a hard second place to having a proper layered character moment that can only be acted by showing your fucking face emoting, dude

Is this accurate lol.
