Captain America: Civil War SPOILER Thread - #TeamThanos

What soundtrack? It was basically random crescendos. There was one decent track where Panther was chasing Bucky, and that was it. The Airport battle theme FELT like it was going somewhere, but couldn't decide on its tone. We didn't even get a reprise of Jackman's great "Captain America" theme from WS, unless I missed it.

Yeah, I can't remember hearing the Cap theme at all. I liked how they re-used The Winter Soldier a few times for Bucky's scenes but that was about it.

To be honest the few interviews they did with Henry Jackman that I've read, he just sounded totally disinterested in it. A shame, as Tyler Bates' Guardians score was great as was Silvestri's Avengers.

The soundtrack suite preview piece online has a bit of Taking a Stand towards the end, but believe me, I was keeping my ear out for ANY hint of that magic in this movie's soundtrack and I didn't notice it.

Maybe in the rewatch...

To digress a bit, one of my favorite character bits is that at the airport, even Tony Stark gets seriously impatient with Spidey. When he starts his Empire Strikes Back bit, when they cut to Tony he's this close to rolling his eyes with frustration, it's great. XD

And OMG what a way to feel old, if this Spidey is meant to be 15 years old and the film essentially takes place in 2016, then Peter Parker was born in the year 2001. Oh my GOD.

I really liked Zemo because he was just a dude but he (kind of) accomplished what way bigger forces could not. It even seemed like he knew that what he was doing was wrong and I genuinely believed him when he apologized to Black Panther for the death of his father. Zemo just didn't care that he was wrong. With his background it kind of was the only thing he knew how to do so he did it. I was worried for a bit that it would just amount to another dumb masterplan with him trying to take control over the other super soldiers and I'm glad it didn't turn out that way. Not the most flashy villain role for sure but it totally worked for me in the context of this movie.

Yeah, Tony putting his hands up to try and stop Cap from decapitating him really shows how fucked that whole relationship is now

It also shows that without his armor on, Tony's still scared of death

Yeah they had the whole flashback with Bucky and I was like "Groan, really?" but it was nicely subverted.

If you watched AoU, he showed plenty color and temper lol.

Though I don't remember him being snarky, usually just professional.

I did, but I don't really remember him much other than feeling responsible for Wanda since he saw his bro being shot.

But again, Avengers movies never left impression on me unlike the non-Avengers movies.

Saw it, loved it.
Winter soldier is definitely the stand out for me. My only problem was when zemo revealed the video. Am I being stupid because what was the chance of a camera being at that scene and capturing everything, and where did zemo get it from?

Ah, was expecting some kind of big plot like Infinity Stones but still good.
Only reference we get to the Infinity Stones is Vision saying he's worried of it controlling him and he wants to find out more about it (uh-oh)

Not to mention that the Avengers are perfectly Disassembled for the time Thanos rocks up.

I also liked how he anticipated that his plan would work even though Tony knew that Bucky wasn't himself at that time. I think him and Tony have a similar personality structure in that regard. They process traumatic events in a similar way. They have to do something about it. Tony was building all these suits in IM3 and he challenged the Mandarin even though it was clearly a bad idea that endangered his life. Zemo was planning to kill himself but he had to at least try to "make it right" in some way, shape or form. He knew that the Avengers didn't kill his family on purpose and that they were trying to save lives but it didn't matter just as Tony knew that Bucky wasn't to blame for the deaths of his family but again, it didn't matter.

Do we know what the second post credits scene is? I know one was Spidey trying to get his webshooters off with Aunt May? Shes way too young to be Aunt May btw. But has anyone seen the second one yet?

That is the second one

The first post credit one is Panther in Wakanda chillin'

Hydra kept that video in their archive and Zemo simply took it.

Zemo most probably know the existance of that video from the leaked Hydra info by Black Widow.

The first one is Bucky, Steve and T'Challa in Wakanda putting Bucky back to sleep until they figure out a way to unscramble his brain. Steve says "You know that if they learn he's here they'll come for him" and T'Challa replies "Let them try", and then they pan to a giant panther carved into a mountain (that looked rather over the top).

Can I grab an updated timeline on when the next Marvel movies are releasing? I feel like I keep hearing news of things shifting around or being cancelled.

I'm glad they cast Aunt May the way they did because having a younger Peter Paker should not mean aunt may must look like a grandmother. Plus aunt May in the Raimi spider-man was a perfect grandmother aunt may, i am ready for something different.

Some people missing the second post credit scene.
Unless you have somewhere you need to be, you should stay for these Marvel movies until they shut off the projector. lol
I saw one guy standing up and walking away after the first one. Pitied him.

just seen it, was fucking ace

one question, i went for a piss just as bucky was talking to falcon and cap about his past. i got back when a bunch of other super soldiers in the flash back were rioting. i'm guessing they also had a similar sirum to Bucky right?

and how did cap know about bucky killing tony's parents? did he say anything in this film and i missed it or are we supposed to guess he knew anyway?

In Winter Soldier, Zola basically shows him that it happened in that montage of shit that Bucky was doing during the years.

Just saw it, easily best MCU movie to date and I'd honestly rate it as one of the best superhero movies ever.

I mean it too, not trying to be hyperbolic. I thought everything was done great.

I also really like the new Spidey, I didn't think I was going to before seeing it.

They had the serum bucky retrieved from the trunk of the car in the opening flashback.
It was revealed to cap in Winter Soldier.

Saw it midnight here in Mexico.

Wow. I'm impressed, amazed and just want more of everything. I could nitpick somethings, like Spider-Man's CGI suit, but it looks good in action.

Definitely true that Black Panther and Spider-Man where brilliant additions to the MCU. Boseman was perfect as T'Challa. Holland likewise for Spidey.

Winter Soldier,
in the old shield base. Arnim Zola

Funny how things come full circle.
