What happens after the airport fight? It sounds like Bucky and Cap have to get to Russia but why? Why does only Stark end up there with them?

I think someone said other Winter Soldiers? What? One beats up Bucky?

Are there any flashbacks to WW2? Does Hydra or Red Skull get mentioned? Any footage of Carter?

He's the security of defense, I think? He's the one that goes to the Avengers to tell them about the UN's proposal to have them registered. We later find out he has a jail to impression any superheroes who break the rules.

The whole reason the airport fight happens is because Cap is trying to get into this jet to go find Zemo. The airport fight concludes with most everyone being out of commission from all the fighting, Cap and Bucky getting on the jet and flying away while Tony and War Machine chase after them. Falcon tries to stop them, Tony calls The Vision to stop Falcon, Vision shots a laser beam, Falcon dodges and hits War Machine instead. Tony falls down to try and rescue him, allowing Cap and Bucky to escape. Later on Tony finds out that Cap was right about Bucky and it was all a set up by Zemo. Since everyone is in prison, he can't take anyone else to go help Cap so he hightails it to Russia to help them out.

There's a flashback where we find out that 5-ish other Winter Soldiers were created who are actually stronger than Bucky. They're all frozen in a Hydra base in Russia, they believe Zemo wants to re-awaken them to do evil shit.

Did I hear correctly that Zemo called T'Challa beautiful when he was talking about his regret for killing T'Chaka?

That kinda caught me by surprise.

He's the secretary general and basically wants to put the Avengers under government control. He seems to be essentially in charge of all domestic military matters including control of the Raft facility.

They go to Russia because that's where the Winter Soldier base was and where Zemo was headed (Why Zemo went there is unclear to me exactly, need a rewatch) Stark goes alone (well not alone, BP follows him there in secret) because basically everyone else has been arrested. Also because he wanted to go as a friend to Steve.

There were other Winter Soldiers being developed at the facility. In a flashback, one had a test fight against Bucky and won, then subsequently gets out of control.

He was the "psychologist" and they put the pieces together about him after they found the real psychologist dead. They're at the airport because the Quinjet is there, which is their only way to get to Siberia from Berlin.

He's not Hydra, but he has military background. I don't think he was called Baron at all.

Rodgers and Co suspect him since he gains access to Bucky via impersonating a UN psychiatrist scheduled to interview Bucky. Stark eventually finds out that Zemo killed the actual UN psychiatrist when the psych's body is found... which Zemo orchestrates, so that Stark has a reason to go to Siberia alone.

Yeah that's the only point I'm stuck on. But I don't really care because it was great just as a piece of misdirection for the final conflict.

Best guess for me is he wanted to somehow get just Stark, Cap and Bucky all alone together to show that footage, but there was no way for him to know that only Cap and Bucky would make it out of the airport and only Stark would follow them to Syberia once the body was discovered

The movie starts with a flashback to one of Bucky's assassination when he was still the WS. All throughout the movie Zemo keeps trying to find out what happened on that mission in 1991.

He ends up discovering that Bucky killed Tony's parents that night. Zemo plays the video tape which makes Tony attack Bucky, Cap tries to calm down Tony but makes Tony ask if he knew that Bucky had killed his parents, Cap tells him that he did which makes Tony completely lose his shit.

What is this for real? Loollll.

We've known Bucky killed Tony's dad ever since Winter Soldier, in this movie Tony finds out and he's not pleased that Cap never told him.

Reading it, I suppose I get how it sounds. But watching it, Tony, and us the audience, don't simply see Bucky crash a car. He drags Howard out and bashes his head in; walks to the passenger side and chokes his wife. It's brutal for PG-13. Add to that, early in the film it's established Tony is sort of haunted by the night they died. Emotions run high. It ties into Panther's and Zemo's story as well.

Eh I guess that doesn't sound too bad. I've always preferred Iron Man so like bias aside it's not as bad as I thought. Still would have preferred a tie honestly but never expected one.
