Hey Snyder, this is how you create a feud.

Ant-Man stole the show. Captain America was as boring as ever. Tony is becoming a responsible man, what a bore. New Spidey was cool (CGI was bad). Black Panther was meh. Wanda was really cool. Clint and Widow were quite meh. Vision was funny. Stan Lee had the best joke.

That airport fight was awesome.

All in all a good movie. At least better than The Avengers movies and the first Cap movies. 4/5. This is how you should've made The Avengers movies.

What if Monica Rambeau is actually cast, as like, an assistant at Avengers mansion, and you can tell she really, really wants to be part of the team, only for Tony to tell her to take a clipboard full of some bullshit out of the room so he can make Danvers Captain Marvel in exchange for going on a date with him.

Only to have Danvers get powers and then spurn Tony for T'Challa.

So Zemo is another changed character huh? And the Skull dude (forgot his name) didn't last long despite what Winter Soldier seemed to lead on, then again so did the villain teased in The First Avenger (forgot his name, he had the Odin staff).

With that said, Zemo was said to be just a "regular family guy out on revenge". How did he manage to pay hitman and dig up all these shit? Was he a former Hydra guy?

Also wait, I don't remember Cap knowing about who killed Tony's parents.

He wasn't Hydra I think, he was some soldier from a special forces unit from Sokovia.

Well, at least Zemo didn't die, so he could come back in a future film.

I was wondering, since Zemo investigated and followed Cap around for years, he must've known about the infinity gems as well?

Question: was The Winter Soldier killing Tony's parents a sort of retcon? I don't remember it ever being mentioned in any film before this one.

It felt a bit contrived, but I can easily forgive it because that payoff was so fucking good. Easily the best action climax in the MCU. A lot of these movies shit the bed in their third act, but this movie actually has a finale that is better than the rest of the film...which is how it should be!

In the Winter Soldier. Zola tells Cap and Black Widow in that bunker scene. Also, Widow gives Cap those Secret files at the end of the movie..

*Yawn* Sorry guys. Nerd-rage over who builds Spidey's suit is like the "Superman shouldn't kill" conversation, except infinitely more insufferable.

16 year-old supergenius bitten by a radioactive spider gains the powers of a spider and then hand-designs webshooters and the miracle adhesive that goes into it, but is too poor to somehow fashion a pair of superhero jammies.

Okay.

Sure.

Believable.

Of all the things in the commonly accepted origin of Spider-Man, an origin maybe only a millimeter less familiar to the public than Superman's/Batman's, the one thing that needed to be changed for suspension of disbelief's sake is that he can't make a costume by himself anymore.

Now Tony Fucking Stark's gotta do it for him. And plant easter eggs in it like a blu-ray special feature.

Or maybe they just want to solidify a mentor/protege relationship between them using the suit? Judging by the casting news for homecoming, that's the direction they're going.

They alluded pretty clearly to Winter Soldier killing Howard Stark in Winter Soldier.

In this scene (at 2:10) it's heavily implied.

I wish he wasn't Zemo (I got so used to the comic and cartoon version)

Also, I was expecting Cap to die at the end. So I felt something is missing in the final arc of the movie.

From the announcement of this movie, everything in my head pointed to Tony finding out that Bucky killed his dad. Didn't realize he was gonna go ape shit because of the death of..let's call her Martha lol.

he goes apeshit because Cap who he assume is his friend, know and didn't tell Tony about it. and I agree that it's pretty shitty for Cap to do that. at least Cap apologize to Stark for it at the end of the movie.

one thing that I felt a bit of retcon from Winter Soldier is the detail of Howard Stark's accident. in Winter Soldier, they show picture of Winter Soldier with sniper rifle followed by news article of Howard accident. giving me the impression that Winter Soldier cause the accidents from a far and more subtle about it.

in here, they clearly showed Winter Soldier being super upfront about it, to the point of beating Howard to death and chocking Tony's mom. the brutal nature of it make Tony goes apeshit more believable to me

Yeah, Tony was already really fragile emotionally at that point, then he got hit with the triple whammy of finding out his parents got murdered, the murderer is right next to him, and his friend knew about it/did nothing

Yup. Minus the mom part, I figured this was gonna be a big part of the movie. They just saved it for the very end. Kind of surprises me how surprised the crowd was. All these nerds decked out in Marvel gear must have missed that part in Winter Soldier with the newspaper clip..
Yeah he isn't dancing a lot in this
No..not really.

It really piled up for him. Add the mother blaming him for her son's death and Pepper's not there for him.

I mean, I knew that was the deal, but that was really, really brutal shit

Yeah, Tony got thrown around like a ragdoll in this emotionally. wtf Pepper

...wait wtf Tony, Peggy Carter died and you didn't go to the funeral?! She worked with your dad!

Does the Pepper thing feel like "Oh shit, we're not sure if Paltrow is gonna do any more of these movies" or does it feel like an actual significant character beat for Tony?

AoU's ending implies he wants to settle down with Pepper soon, so when I heard they were on break here I wondered if Paltrow wasn't interested in coming back anytime soon.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention, holy shit at Chris Evan's arm at that helicopter scene. do they use some cg enhancement or something?

Watched the UK press conference and someone asked this, and that's all Evans.

Chris did say that they film scenes like that pretty early on in production, because you can't workout as much during actual filming, so you start to shed a bit of muscle through the whole process.

I remember when Chris Evan mention that the training is really tough for him and probably one of the reason why Avengers cap are slimmer than The First Avengers movie. maybe he got used to it in the end because he got huge again in Winter Soldier and the rest of his MCU appearance.

Repost from OT.

Saw it. It's good, aside from some shaky cam fighting. Spidey is great too, but I don't think he's the best on screen spidey. Not yet anyway, he has the potential to come on top.

The real MVP for me was Ant-Man, he has a bigger role than I expected.

The end credit scene (not the mid one), what is the bracelet projector supposed to be about?

Maybe you were just a lil too sleepy (what with all the yawning and asterisks) but you seemed to have missed how deadlyserious everyone involved was taking this. Like, sweating profusely and teeth grittingly serious.

I managed to run a spellcheck in the middle of my embolism level serious, man.

Wake up!

Or maybe they just want to solidify a mentor/protege relationship

No shit. The point is pretty obvious. As is my counterpoint: Fuck Stark.

Obviously I think Tony being Peter's mentor is a dumb idea.

So I don't like that.

I will fight you.

Whoa. WHOA. Buddy. Slow down. Too serious. You might cause a yawn or two out in these streets.

They added a Spider-man end credit scene? Cool!

I left right after the mid-credits at the preview screening because the parking garage was all nonsense. Glad I didn't miss anything.

Hey man, a Spidey's gotta catch his Z's.

My bro Tony got me these sick jammies too.

The whole mentorship thing is... mighty stupid. But then again, so is having Spider-Man as a teen. I'll take what I can get I guess.
