Captain America: Civil War SPOILER Thread - #TeamThanos

I've seen it twice now, still as fun the 2nd time as it was the 1st.

Still don't like how the Spidey suit looks, even if he is easily the highlight of the film.

There's still Homecoming, we'll probably get a suit upgrade there. The black stripes I think worked to mesh with the web shooters and cartridge belt, but those can always change to red or blue. I really like how the eyes worked out in this movie. Having them get bigger, like the size that they got in ASM2, wouldn't work if they were also animating them with shutters like here. But we haven't seen them try in the MCU with those big eyes, so who knows?

Guys seriously, who do you think would be the actor for the Uncle Ben that married Hot Aunt May? I'm thinking George Clooney.

They better not get rid of the black lines, those are my favorite part of the suit.

If anything, it needs more black.

So did anyone here see the second post credit scene? Would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me what it was.

Gaf is usually helpful.

Well, ok, so maybe I interpreted the ending wrong, then.
So I will go back to my previous point.

I want more Vision & Wanda!
Marvel, scrap the Ant-Man & Wasp movie and give me Vision & Scarlet Witch.

Vision is totally on borrowed time with that gem on his noggin isnt he?

I must have totally missed this part but what happened to all the Avengers? Weren't they still held in the raft by the end of the movie, and only Steve and Bucky are in Wakanda?

steve picked them up

and told tony in that letter that he will rock up with them if world or tony needs them to

he gave tony a cell phone to call the avengers

Cap being a good guy through it all.

"I know we disagreed on a lot of shit and tried to kill each other, but I still got your back when you need it."

Man what an awesome movie

and the bait and switch at the end was great, even though it was partially spoiled by the trailer since it showed the Iron Man vs Winter Soldier & Cap fight.

Ant-Man was amazing! I am kinda pissed that someone on the no-spoiler thread gave away the AT-AT scene though.... but it was great watching it anyway.

Not my favorite Super Hero movie, but its probably the best build. Its quite amazing to make so many actors working in the same movie and not having the feeling that they were wasted.

Every.single.one had their moment.

:)

tbh i didnt like capn when he was first introduced in capn america 1. he was too much of a goodygoody there but he really came into form in avengers for me. his juxtaposition against tony stark's maverick ways was just terrific

then i fell for him more in winter soldier. he really won me over! his values and true friendship with bucky was utterly endearing. steve rogers remain very human and he is aware of his limitations and flaws and he struggles with them. i think, this is brought forward even further in civ war. he just couldn't abandon certain things even if the whole world is telling him that he is in the wrong. i saw how he wavered a few times about signing the accord. parts of him knew that the accord has good points, good intentions.

i really, really like that Civ War dealt with very complex issues. and not just the TWO sides of the accord signing issues, but other things like the the passing of time (with peggy carter's funeral) and how black widow was more comfortable shifting between positions because she is, in a way, able to see more than just black and white in things (and as repercussions, how her friends will always reserve some mistrust against her because she will never truly be on their side. she is more grey than black or white)... and other even heavier issues.... like the dark and murky stuff about bucky being under mind-control when he did heinous things. to name a few!

it was a really lovely flick, with humour injected at the right dose at the right places.

:>

i also liked everyone. tony was great and capn was great and bucky was great and zemo was great and black panther was great and spider-man was OMGgreat

TDM was right though, after reading his posts, zemo's 'intricate designs' hinged too much on 4th dimensional movie's script writer's machinations bringing in capn america and bucky and iron man at that place at that time in siberia. but regardless, i still like zemo. he was very easy to empathize with. that scene in the snow with black panther was superb.

the entire thing was terrific

the only thing i remain feeling a little underdelivered was wanda and vision but, it's such a slight dissatisfaction...

i really, really, really like antman in this. he was just loveable. just loveable.

Didn't he just decide against acting as a villain in comic book movies for now since he's starting Dark Tower shenanigans as the bad guy?

The three most powerful people in the airport fight were Wanda, Vision and Spiderman, the first two being their own category even.

But spidey's weakness was basically only his inexperience. No rookie mistakes (that were completely in character) and he was going to mop the floor with team cap by himself mostly.
Both Tony and Rhodey felt ultimately incapable of dealing with Wanda (apart from getting her off guard) and she was also the Vision only weakness.

Bucky, Captain, Black Panther felt like three super soldiers who are the perfect mix of experience and power set. Black Widow and Hawkeye felt underpowered and Ant-Man was like a wild card, in the end too dependent on support from the rest of the team.

Iron Man, War Machine and Falcon were like gimmick bags waiting to run out of tricks. Iron Man was amazing on his two on one versus cap and Bucky, tho.

Your highness

Thats right, show him the respect he deserves Steve!

Wanda was so awesomely OP in this film. She wipes the floor with them all. The only reason she got neutered was because she was trying to help Cap and Bucky to go through. Give her enough time she can help Cap and Bucky and wipe the rest of them easily. I love how she just slams Tony, Rhodey, Panther, et all so easily.

here's a gif of that spider sense moment we were talking about earlier

QR6lT9p.gif

I loved that scene. It shows how great his reflexes are without taking a minute or so.

The follow up is great " I think you missed this"

Also, his origin and powers were explained in the movies already. Twice.

Best Marvel movie by far.

Everyone had their time.

Everyone was likable.

The villain might be on another movie.

Cap and Iron Man rekindled their friendship with mail.

And dat look from Bucky and Sam to Cap after he kissed with Carter's niece.

Fuck it, I want more of Sam and Bucky, they're made to be the action couple for a comedy movie.

NIECE

carter's niece

:D FREUDIAN SLIP

So near the end of the mid-credits scene, a bit of music plays, anyone else think that might be the melody of the Black Panther theme? Sounds pretty sick.

That whole speech where he's talking about how he's going to learn more about it and be better off for it

Oh Vis. Honey.

Absolutely exhausted after a midnight screening last night, so far I consider it worth it. Amazing film that was emotionally exhausting by the end. I love this universe and these characters.

Holy shit
"Can you adjust your seat?"
"...no"

Spider-Man is just ridiculous levels of good. God bless Tom Holland, what amazing casting. He's instantly endearing and likable in a way the former Spideys never were.

This settles who is the most powerful Avenger.

Supposedly Carol Danvers will be Superman-esque too.

Her fight with Vision was what really sold that idea. Here's a guy that was established in Ultron as the most powerful being of all the Avengers, and she just slams him straight into the earth.

I am rewatching it in less than an hour time. I need to watch that fight scene on the big screen again
