Captain Picard of Admiral Adama?

I love Picard, but he's too PC mambypamby to stand up to the boxin', drinkin', bellyshakin' Adama.

So it's Adama, but perhaps just because EJO was such a perfect piece of casting.

Hahah fuck yes! My favorite GIF :lol

I'll have to go with Picard, but they are both fucking awesome. Picard is the classier leader though.

It's Edward Jellico, bitches!

Senator Kinsey is an asshole, he got lucky with rescuing Picard.

He's an asshole, but the guy is smart and efficient.

Lets compare Captains/Commanders/Admirals and their greatest achievements.

Captain Kirk

Greatest achievement - saving the entire Solar System in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. One of the men on his command had sex with the Voyager VI NASA probe and fixed everything.

Captain Picard

Greatest achievement - Saving the Federation from The Borg by fighting their control over him for long enough to tell Data how to blow up their cube. Incredible willpower.

Captain Sisko

gowron-sisko-martok.jpg

Greatest moment: Punched Q in the face. Q never, ever returned to DS9.

Greatest achievement: Saved the entire universe by stopping the release of the Bajoran demons, who would have used their hellish powers to set it all in flames.

Commander Arnold J 'Ace' Rimmer

Greatest achievement: Defeating a planet of Nazis using only a crocodile and a rope.

Admiral William Adama

Greatest Achievement: Defeating the entire Cylon empire and making their race extinct with one ancient, underpowered, damaged museum ship.

Captain Janeway

Greatest Achievement: Destroyed any way the Q and the Borg can be taken seriously ever again, due to her ruining them forever.

Captain Xev Bellringer

Used her ship to destroy Hell because her friend was being punished there, and her undead-assassin-good-guy-uninterested-love-interest was trapped in its core with Satan. Her ship shortly after this destroyed Heaven, ending the universe's afterlife.

In terms of achievements, Sisko wins it for saving the entire universe.

this should be a discussion about Captain Sisko vs. Admiral Adama not Adama vs. some french sissy.

It's Edward Jellico, bitches!

This guy was a bloody good Captain. The Enterprise crew, Riker in particular, were absolutely pathetic when Jellico took over. Given what we saw of him on TNG, he must have been a legend in the Dominion War.

I'd seriously have loved a series set on his ship. Nearly as much as I'd love a Section 31 series.

Come on now we all know if you toss Kirk in the guy wins before you can finish writing the thread title.

He probably has kids on half the planets in the galaxy.
Taught pansies the hard truth of the horrors of war in A Taste of Armageddon.

That was awesome

Admiral Adama all the way

I mean the guy ad-libed the "So Say we All" part of the speech.

The phrase "so say we all", which is used as a ceremonial affirmation in the series, was ad-libbed by Edward James Olmos in a speech given by Commander Adama in the mini-series.

Kirk had sex with anything that moved.

Adama told his men that if you're going to fuck something non-human, you must make sure the toaster falls head over heals in love with you.

Stabbed Picard laughs at the comparison.
Archeologist, diplomat, philosopher, scientist, tactician. He does it all, baby. Oh, and he lived two lives.

He also didn't just leave the rest of humanity (to a horrific fate, mind you) to become a hermit for no discernable reason.

I don't recall Picard ever protecting a civilian fleet of 40,000+ with just one retired ship.

come on now he hardly knew his son as he was too busy shagging the galaxies supply of women. Plus Kirk had the better friends for sure. Spock and Bones.

Sisko had a friend who shagged Bones.

I like the cut of your jib, sir.

Adama was in the middle of retiring. And even still, he managed to escape and protect a civilian fleet with his junker.
Made his own Viper squadron from scratch too.

DrForester said:
He had his people make a viper Squadron from Scratch.

Sisko built his own ship from Scratch himself.
You think Tyrol would've been anything close to competent without Adama on his ass?

Keep my planes flying. I need my planes to fly. Dismissed.

Sisko is a great commander, but we're talking about Adama vs some nancy. While Picard was doing battle with space salesmen, Adama was voting not guilty for the greatest war criminal in the history of mankind and telling everyone to deal with it.

Sisko designed and built The Defiant
Come on. He had the entire Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards at his disposal. Adama had a floating museum with a bunch of decommissioned Vipers and duct tape. LOL

Fact remains, he built his own ship.

And again, if Adama had done his job properly to begin with he never would have been in that situation.

Protect the colonies.
He already did.

Hence, the retirement ceremony.

GJ Adama. Way to stick it to those toasters in the First Cylon War. Couldn't have done it without you.

When I saw that post I thought you were talking about the ship he built based on Bajorian star sailing ships. So I guess that makes 2 ships built for Sisko?
