CGI animated films from the past 15 years that everyone already forgot about

I remember a film trailer for a foreign animated film with a yellow tint and an adult subject matter....but its driving me crazy trying to find it. It wasn't anime, or Waltz with Bashir. It had kidnapping and murder I believe, around 2007 or 2008. I'm doubtful anyone knows what it is from that description....

Film Noir maybe. Whole movie is on YouTube. (it's pretty damned good too)

A direct-to-DVD sequel, Alpha and Omega 2: A Howl-iday Adventure, was released on October 8, 2013. Another sequel, Alpha and Omega 3: The Great Wolf Games, was released on March 25, 2014. Alpha and Omega: The Legend of the Saw Tooth Cave was released on September 23, 2014. Alpha and Omega: Family Vacation was released to DVD on August 4, 2015 and three more sequels are planned.[4] The film was dedicated to the memory of Dennis Hopper, as this was his final performance prior to his death.

heh...heh...

...heh...

I remember being excited for robots -- i really likedthe style, and robin williams, but was disappointed once i saw it. Kind if boring and too many dumb jokes for me.

Edit: I nominate Flushed Away. CG film made to look stop motion, Aardman style. Enjoyed the villian and the French Frogs.

I saw that in theaters and I loved it so much.

I'm aware the game doesn't have the biggest following, and reviews don't seem to be stellar for this, but I'm always surprised that nobody seems to acknowledge this.

I believe it was announced at the same time as either the Ratchet and Clank or Sly Cooper movie, so that may have overshadowed it.

I actually liked this movie as a kid...No one here mentioned it I think. I even begged my dad to buy me the game on GameCube and I remember it took me forever to beat it...The fuckin Wasp Boss battle had me traumatized

Well....

The last one (Family Vacation) was just released at the beggining of this month, and if the Alpha & Omega Wiki is right, there's a 6th, 7th and 8th movie coming.

EDIT:

^^^^
Goddamnit!

Laughing my ass off at the girl wolf doing the same exact pose in every cover she's in

All of them?

Only CGI animated movies I can remember are Toy Story and Shrek. And Shrek only because I saw the musical last year. (It was awesome.)

Another vote for Hoodwinked. Just looked absolutely awful. Then I watched it and was shocked, SHOCKED how good it was.

Home feels like a recent example from my experiences. It just came and went. I don't recall any sort of fanfare or talk about it at all. I didn't even know it released on DVD/Blu-Ray until a few days ago (it apparently released in July in the UK).

I just saw this yesterday, and it's pretty much in Planet 51 territory for me. Oh's mangling of English is so forced and obvious in an attempt to get the audience laughing every time he talks - it wouldn't be so bad if the other Boovs did the same, but they didn't, and it's so painfully obvious as a result. I liked the bit at the end with the reveal, but it was again nothing surprising, being pretty typical all over for a CGI flick. Was quite disappointed - we're getting far too many animated films playing it safe.

A little imagination goes a long way.

Others I liked that have been mentioned here are Bolt, The Ant Bully, and the Happy Feet films. Strike that, the Happy Feet films are my favourites, I think. Yes, it's cute animals talking, but it has a sense and reason to it, there's plenty of imagination at work in realising that world and the characters within it.

Another series most people would probably prefer to forget is -

The first film had a good script and therefore a good reason for existing. It was a touching story and I loved it when it first came out, and was hopeful for the future of Blue Sky Studios, a studio I had previously not been aware of. They did a really good job on the first film, with great characters and a really funny primitive squirrel thing... but then they made a sequel. And the sequel has no good reason to exist other than it is a safe bet that it would bring in money.

And then they made more, and they weren't even consistent with the stories they were writing. The original showed early mammals in the pleistocene era interacting with early man. The second film had the end of the Ice Age, the third film brought the return of dinosaurs, the fourth (sigh) caused the break-up of Pangaea. Again, I'm all for suspension of disbelief in order to tell a good story, and animated films with all sorts of logical inconsistencies are nothing to get worked up over, but those sequels existed only because they would make money - being so inconsistent with their stories showed how little they cared about what they were making.

I was hopeful when they announced Rio that they would finally move away from the now ruined and sequel-ridden Ice Age series, and it was an alright film, nothing special, which was a tad disappointing - but hey, they were doing something different. And yet, what was their next film? Rio 2, another film - and another sequel - that had no reason to exist but to make money, because sequels are cheap and easy. Sigh... I understand industry pressure to make money, but I really wish studios would put more care and more imagination into what they're making, and not be afraid of breaking the mould.

(Chicken Little) I love this movie, got shit on by critics, but for a little kid, it is great.

A friend told me this was fantastic, so I went to see it. It is the only animated film that has ever been sufficiently bad to make me leave the theater early.

Dreamworks churns out so many that it's hard to remember some of the more recent ones, like Mr. Peabody, Turbo and The Croods.
And here's one you guys may or may not have heard of:

EDIT: Beaten!
Also sad about the Happy Feet studio going under. Happy Feet 2 was a great movie, especially the existential krill.

i vaguely remember some awful looking movie with ugly characters made by a guy who wanted to show that you don't need a big studio to do good.

his movie flopped, hard.

Legend of the Guardians, not to be confused with Rise of the Guardians (which everyone also forgot).

Why yes, it was directed by Zack Snyder.

i remember reading and liking the book when i was really really young and watched the trailer some time ago and while it looked like a beautiful movie there was something off about these realistic looking owls talking.

Another vote for Hoodwinked. Just looked absolutely awful. Then I watched it and was shocked, SHOCKED how good it was.

hoodwinked was awesome when it came out. didn't take long for it to hit cartoon network either.

I actually like the first 3 films a lot. The fourth one wasn't as good, but wasn't bad eithr. There's also a fifth one (named Ice Age: Collision Course) coming next summer.

Gah, of course there is. And yeah, they're all pretty much enjoyable in their own way, but they just don't really need to exist, and a film should have a good reason to exist, especially in animation. Otherwise you get stuff like Alpha and Omega and even Foodfight.
